We vote with our feet and our wallets multiple times every single day. For everyone selling something for $20, they don't want their something, they want our $20. Vote critically, vote tough and vote often. Be as big a contributor to the market as you can with the time, money, and freedom you have.
It is much better to have a more diverse type of United States than to try to force the whole country to do the same things. Even the EU has it's countries where you can smoke pot, legal prostitution, gambling, etc, etc.
Of course it is much better in the states as you can move to a state which reflects your values and lifestyle the most, while in Europe, people can't just decide to be a citizen of a different EU country (to my knowledge).
