Super Video! Danke
Is it not real world procedure to test any of the overhead functions such as the window overheat test or the flap position lights test (the lights next to the IRS)? You test the systems on the center console but nothing on the overhead section.
@ bcwlim I too am a real world pilot and a 737 Captain. In my earlier post I said that the Center tank pump should be turned on instead of the NO.1 AFT fuel pump. Now I'll give you the reason...the a/c will most likely develop a fuel imbalance at the gate if the crew chooses the the NO.1 AFT fuel pump for extended APU usage. This can be avoided by doing as I have suggested, If your PMDG 737 is modeled correctly, try it and you will see. And as I said to skysurfer, gd tutorial and FMC usage.
For APU usage different company´s have different pump procedure´s. Some instruct the pilot to turn on the No1. FWD pump because of the less expensive maintenance costs on the FWD compared to the AFT No.1. Some company´s leave don´t specify a certain No1. pump. No procedure I´ve seen so far uses the center pump for the APU as long as the center tank is empty. Anyway with inspected pumps the pump would not operate with empty center tank because of the automatic shutoff logic.
@skysurfer007 I stated that there is no need to turn the center tank pump on if it is empty. This however is not about company policy, but merely intended to provide an insight into realistic flying (as you have done). Surely you must agree that the center tank pumps have a higher output pressure than wing tank pumps. Turning on the center tank pump will prevent a fuel imbalance while the a/c is at the gate, as the APU draws fuel. Based on the fuel system do you agree?
Watching this video, I was able to go from not knowing how to do anything at all in PMDG with the FMS (let alone the other systems) to being able to use both LNAV and VNAV. Thanks a bunch! Oh, and your English is better than most native speakers.
A well done tutorial, except for a few small errors. In the real world small errors can lead to big problems. I see numerous flt simmers, turn on the NO.1 AFT fuel pump when starting the APU. The APU uses suction to draw fuel from the NO.1 tank. The center fuel pumps have a higher output pressure than the main tank pumps, it is advisable to turn on the L center tank fuel pump ONLY for extended APU use.
There is no need to turn on the Main tank pump if center tank is empty. Keep the tuts coming
This was definitely one of the best videos considering PMDG 737 NGX. Please provide us more videos concerning efficient usage of FMC and aircraft systems. Your english is very fluent and easy to understand.
I think that some folks missed those little FMC adjustments that you made before decent / approach. Summa summarum: superb!
so guys this is flight simulator huh hmm interesting but difficult i never get one thing how the fuck you pull all those buttons so you can be able to fly the airplane only that
Thank you very much for investing so much time and effort to do such a video.
I have a question. What is it all about with this "FUN/-2.9"? I mean that FUN is a waypoint, but for what does the -2.9 stand for? You have made major changes during flight (in the LEGS) page, unfortunately I was not able to follow/understand it properly. And I also know that it is very stressful to create a video like this, but could you do another to explain the above-mentioned, Please? :-)
@LufthansaDAIGO Along–track waypoints are entered using the waypoint name (the place), followed by a slash and minus sign, for points before the waypoint, or no minus sign for points after the waypoint, followed by the mileage offset for the newly defined waypoint. The created waypoint is then inserted over the original waypoint. Example:
• FUN/-2.9 is 2.9 miles before FUN on the present route/track, and is displayed as FUN01 in the FMC.
mate, that vid was amazing. Loved the way you were so comfortable with all the NGX systems and checklists. Very impressed and looking forward to the next one already. Cheers from London :-)
@skysurfer007 Thank you so much for your tutorial, probably i haven't seen it but i just wanted to you to make a full flight so that you can show us how to do a step climb. Greetings from Kigali(Rwanda)
Hey, usually in real world with the 737 we wait until the maximum altitude in the CRZ page shows a level about 500 oder 700 above the level we want to climb and than we ask ATC for that level.. No big deal. Greetings to Kigali from Montreal :)

@LufthansaDAIGO i guess that you can create a new waypoint in the legs page which is 2.9 nm before (thats why -2.9) FUN.
