My buggy is running 7.4v 3600mah and a tamiya sport esc and sport tuned motor is a 27t sport tuned motor faster than a 12t titan cause mine looks a lot faster and it gets more air But then mine is not stock good vid and the last jump sounds like some thing more than the esc broke.
The ESC had a couple of the bullet-connectors break off. It was a common problem with the 1st generation of VXL-3S ESCs that has been fixed for about a year now.
can anybody help me out here? k, im interested in buying an electric rc. i was thinking the stock slash at first because of durability.. but im starting to think the rustler vxl is a better car. i know the rustler would be faster than the stock slash.. but how durable is it? do any parts break?
I geared it down (slower) than stock. It gives you lower motor temps and longer battery life. I think it also had my weak battery in it for those jumps, so don't judge the XL-5 too poorly on the basis of this video! It's a great car, esp. for beginners.
XL-5 is simply geared very low. So top speed is very low. Works great at a small place like the skate park, but doesn't make for impressive jumps, like the VXL can do...
i ordered a traxxas rustler xl-5 with a 7 cell battery and its capable of doing 40 im gonna have some fun :D

Definitely the VXL. And no parts broke for several such jumps... eventually, though, it did break.

not much at all, but the power will remain high until LVC, but with nimh, you get most power at first and toward the end it begins to droop.

how much faster is 7.2 volt lipo than say ib 4200 7.2 volt nimh

xl-5 looks a little sluggish
is that just how it is or was the battery flat
