  • A bit of a history lesson....William Bromham, owned and ran the pub in 1841 with his son Nathaniel. It was called the Abbey Inn at the time.

    The white house (1.17 on my counter) is Malmsmead Farm, where Ann Bromham, William's daughter, lived with her husband James Crocombe and their children for over thirty years. The farm is very famous in British literature, being the location for Blackmoor's book Lorna Doone, written in 1859, when the Crocombes' were living there still.
