nokia are going to bring touch screen phones out soon touch ui. and they will actually be a good phone aswell as touch screen so you can cream over them

a new firmware is coming out soon maye in the next week firmware 12.big update that will most lickley fix allot of bugs known on the 96.

and to all those navi wheel fans. nokia dont have any plans to activate the wheel on the 96 :(.although the hardware is in there so time to hack it ;)

I'm a huge nokia fan. I have never used any mobile besides nokia. But considering the new Iphone 3g costs only $199, don't you think it would be better going for that? Obviously the n96 supports better hardware, but is the hardware worth the $600 gap? What does this phone have that makes it worth $600 than the Iphone?

The likelihood is there...cos i have been using N81 8GB for the past few months with no problems...until a few days ago when i tried to transfer around 100 songs from my pc to my phone...

From the 40++ songs i have, currently i only have 17. the music keys and volume keys juz wont work...=( The songs can be played in the file manager but not on music player..

but i think that there is still space for improvement....i wont stop supporting Nokia just for this issue though...

If you paid 250 for a Nokia N95 8GB then it's because it's fake.The fake Nokias N95 don't have Wi-Fi nor a GPS and it looks horrible in all aspects compared to the real version.

i had the n95 8gb it sucked it was too slow to bulky crap keypad hence you can pick em up on ebay for 250.00 Shame as i thought it was great at first then after a while hated it. The N96 fairs no better crap battery life how do i know just left nokia as developer its bloody awful oh and so is the nokia tube. Iphone 3G soon sort the moby crap out

in the spec sheet on the nokia n series website nothing is mentioned about call management, voice features, or messaging so i am assuming that it would be the same as the previous n series phones and they didnt put it coz it was either a serious typo or they are trying to push the video and tv features?

this is just my opinion, but i think touch screens are impractical. just cos you cant really be sure what you're doing without looking, and you've almost always got to use 2 hands to use them. plus there arent any truly solid touch screen phones anywhere, so...

This is not a touch screen though but I agree to you. In some cases, like emergencies and quick activities, touch screen phones might get you worse.

In some emergencies, you might have to use the stylus or your hands just to call 911 or something.

I saw a demo of S60 Touch UI. It's not coming out till the next 8+months but i can tell you it worths waiting. The demo was all software accelerated and it was FAST. I can't imagine how it will be when Symbian guys add hardware acceleration in the game

for u to be able to control it while it is in portrait mode... that adds some comfortability because u dn't need to open the slider just to access the media buttons... for example u need to change the song track while ur phone is in ur pocket, u now don't need to slide up the phone just to change track or stop, thats a hassle in my opinion.
