@hodge914 It's a fork to the new gnome 3 desktop environment. They want it to be a little more oldstyle so it won't hurt their userbase.

@gamenorus thank you for the reply! My laptop has the nvidia optimus garbage and from what I am reading... that means it sucks with any distro :( i am loving linux but i hate that i can't use alot of the theme features with my video card

@hodge914 Well, most distros have quite a light desktop no matter which videocard you use. When there is a problem like yours, the community tends to release new stable versions of the drivers in not too long of a time. Maybe there's already a solution that is being tested (therefore not available for update unless you configure it that way), getting ready to hit the main repos. My advice would be searching for nvidia drivers and keep updating them until they get fixed.
