  • Thermostat opens up at 88c, 1st fan speed at 95, 2nd at 105c. get someone with hp tuners to sort that out for you. can reprogram the thermo to open at 85, 1st fan speed at lower drive speeds and off at higher drive speeds etc. also can get that idle upped on the ecu. im sure you know all this anyways. beautiful machine.

  • loud fuel pump...just like my e30...hahahah

  • Gonna build on myself too< mine will be Silver with purple custom design pinstriping made by me!!!! *happyface*

  • Did you have to do any type of fabrication to fit the ls7?

  • @hebs007wrx not if he got the turn key Ls7 GTR package from thier recomended engine supplier

  • I can has car?

  • my ultima gtr is black and a white small very small pin strip and a ls7

  • one word, beautiful!

  • love it, you guys in the midwest?

  • love teh way the air filter and exhausts stick out (L)

  • The car if assembled by the factory is 89k not including taxes for importing shipping costs or engine and transmission

  • There are no shipping cost on orders over $41k. If you build one yourself, all the options without taxes including engine and transmission are $71,128.60. Which is much cheaper than an $89K Rolling Chassis

  • Where did you get your exhaust system from. Is it the Schwartz stainless system, or is it from the factory? If it is from Schwartz I would be interested in contacting you to discuss how satisfied you were with the fit and finish, as I am trying to finalize my GTR order from the factory. Thanks.

  • That's nice. You got any vids of it on the road?

  • I am incredibly envious. ULTIMAte track machine.

Please tell me you plan on tracking it.

  • Good father-son activity :)

  • I am looking in to getting one of these kits. How much did import taxes get you for? and shipping? Looks like the kit itself is about 25K (no engine i believe)

  • It really depends on how crazy you want to go. Talk to Richard Marlow at Ultima. He's probably your best source to get figures.

  • Yeah, Richard sent me a pdf file in which the car itself costed around $60K, even though i've seen people build it for much less than that.

  • The engine was cheap compared to the fittings and custom built pieces surrounding it.

  • I feel envy... :(

  • Nice ride! If you ever need a good car sitter.... Let me know :) Good motor choice too- the LS7 is nearly bulletproof. I hope you enjoy it.

  • You can call Jeff Schwartz at Schwartz Performance for a current cost of all the fixins. (815) 455-2230

  • How much did the LS7 crate engine cost?

  • i'm expecting the engine has done about 20 engine dyno pulls cos new engine+new cam+new rings at idle=not good..

  • can u read?......it says this is the first start up.

  • yes i can read...i also know that if you don't break in the cam from the first start-up you risk loosing cam lobes and lifters. seeing the guy with a check list makes me think the cam has already been broken in otherwise the first line on the list would say"start the engine and hold the revs at aprox 2500rpm for about 20 mins..do not let the engine idle"any good engine builder will tell you that.may -bee it is the first time started in the car.i guess CobraChamp could tell us.

  • pff....."breaking in the cam".....give me a break.

Its the RINGS that need breaking in!

"Grind" them into shape while the bores are still rough.

  • and what do you do for a living?i don't have to guess that you're not in the motor trade are you!you break in a cam and bed in the rings.both do not involve letting the engine idle.you know what google is so do some homework or when you "break in you're rings" with you're rough(honed)bore, you can replace you're cam and lifters tomorrow.K

  • I KNOW your not meant to let a new motor idle for too long!

  • and?????

  • your telling me as if i dont know.

  • i'm only going on your reply and if you know your stuff then why would you debate the fact that what we see in this clip is not good for the engine that i expect he spent a lot of cash on?

  • and exactly how does a cam "break in" ???

  • break in is a term used when the cam and lifters are mated.although the cam and cam followers are hardened they will,or can wear a lobe or lobes off and the lifter must turn in the lifter hole.the lifter has a radiused surface where it is in contact with the cam whitch is how it turns.if a new cam is left turning slowly, the lifter stands a big chance of not turning resulting in failure.this applies to flat tappet cams not roller cams and thats another story.

  • hey dip-shit, its a ROLLER CAM!

Flat Tappet Cams havnt been used in these motors for over like 15 years!

    No break-in!

  • can't say you wouldn't pull some looks.looks tough.

  • It needs a set of 180's.

  • Unlikely Chris, unless you go to England.

  • i hope u fellas took that thing out and thrashed it as soon as it warmed up......so as to bed the rings in nicely!

  • Looks very nice. And that will be a great reliable set-up! Someday I would love to build one.

  • Well Done Sir

  • where'd you get that awesome ready to run LS7 engine package that fired right up?

    Jeff

  • America speed does most ultima engines

  • Schwartz Extreme Performance, who does more LS7's than anyone, did this one.

  • u can buy them from gm. ready to go with 500+ hp not cheap tho..

  • Nice Job!

Hope to see you in the nieghborhood soon.

    Chris
