  • @tldtoday I've sorta been looking for something a little smaller and stronger than my 16 inch HP for school and was wondering if you think it would be a huge (bad) change to do that. Purely size and comfort not os.

  • Ya Cant get any better than it! :D

  • C'mon guys, its an apple, Apples ROCK!

  • I have a 13 with i7 and happy with it :)

  • The 17" must be massive

  • @mr170000 it is :D and expensive too!.. but it's mainly for professional editors and whatnot :)

  • You know that if you get a "Solid State Drive" the computer will boot up quicker -- and loading screens. They may have less memory, but they make things go so quickly. It's worth it.

  • Wow. So many idiots commenting on this video.

Mac OS X is not made off Linux.

Is based off of UNIX. An Linux doesn't suck, if you think Linux sucks you obviously don't know how to use it properly.

  • i bought an apple i was dissapointed i couldnt eat it

  • @RandomTechUniversity your stupid... how fast a computer starts up isnt affected by it having more ram or being a quad core, you will see when you try to run anything slightly cpu intensive

  • Comment removed

  • @mrworms3d

    Not sure if trolling.

  • my macbook takes more time to boot up please help(a lot more)

  • can i play runescape on macbook pro 13" without lag?

  • @mrworms3d no macbook pros suck if u wana play runescape buy a toshiba for like $300

  • stop watch fail. 13inch looks awesome though

  • soo many apple products in 1 area

  • go 15 inch go 15 inch

  • everyone get the fuck over it

  • Its sad that Apple basicly destroyed the Macbook Pro 13 with an awful graphics card.

  • @JamerTheProgrammer because apple is stupid

  • @JamerTheProgrammer its gotta be better than the 2009 white unibody macbooks graphics card tho.

  • Aha u should of had waited till lion software came out

  • upgrade the macbook pro 13 to an SSD and it will boot up faster then the 15 inch

  • @fartacle but what if you upgrade the 15 inch with an SSD?

  • @fartacle I got the 13, my only complain is the pathetic 5400rpm drive. I noticed real differences coming from two 7200rpms in my desktop. I'm planning to put an SSD.

  • i want the background music ! LOL

  • FUCK MAN ! I wish they had a 14 inch >:(

  • Lol, I've got the 13", battery life is amazing!

  • @SuperMario8ros ur garbage

  • The 15" seems to have a whiter screen on boot up while the 13" is less whiter screen , is this due to camera placement or is it actually like that?

  • FUCK THEY BOTH TAKE FOREVER GET LINUX

  • @indianindianindian9 linux suck dick

  • @Nachoman990 SAYS SOMEONE WHO IS TO STUPID FOR LINUX, THE WORLD IS FILLED WITH IDIOTS

  • @indianindianindian9 And trolls apparently.

  • @Tommy0Vercetti Are you calling me a troll if so i am only opening the eyes of everyone to see that macs are a peace of trash

  • @indianindianindian9 So are trolls, troll.

  • @Tommy0Vercetti ENJOY YOUR OVERPRICED TRASH

  • @indianindianindian9 Bro, Linux sucks. Macs are NOT a piece of trash...apparently, no one's listening to you as you "opening the eyes of everyone" because the a huge portion of the world in PC and then more than half of the rest and Macs. Linux is...just shit. Troll.

  • @TVrocks453 hate to break it to you but mac was made on linux and so are all its apps and os for so linux is the best

  • @indianindianindian9 Don't bring your mother into this

  • @Tommy0Vercetti Srry to break your joy but we were talking about your family IDIOTS THESE DAYS

  • @indianindianindian9 Sir you have been bested, it would be unwise to try to troll me again.

  • @indianindianindian9 i think i will.

  • OKAY I GET IT I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT THE 15" BUT I DON'T HAVE $1799. Why the hell did i just pay 1199 for a laptop that can't play DiRT 2??

  • @JoelB3783 A mac is not for gaming :p

  • @kokomanen Last yer they had Nvidia! Now they have intel Integrated HD Graphics.

  • why on these technology videos appears a fucking How To Undo Her Bra With One Hand ? WTF fix that youtube :/

  • 7200 vs 5400 ?

  • i want a 15 inch.....i alr have a 13 inch though and it works beautifully!

  • Got my 17" MacBook pro today, they are massive! But works really well. :)

  • ssd or hdd??

  • i would lmfao is they both crashed or something.

  • haha he's comparing apples to apples :P

  • @ariapro7 thats a board game!

  • @migthebest1211 haha see what i did there? :P

  • im getting a MBP for college, and im basically using it for graphic design work.. would the 13inch or 15inch be better? I also want a laptop where i could casually game and maybe play a couple FPS's.

  • @SneakerNERD22 Are you an idiot? Basicaly you want the biggest screen possible for Graphics/ Video editing

  • @SneakerNERD22 15 inch. Onboard graphics on the 13 inch are crap. 15 Inch is decent, as long as it's the highend one. The lower end one will still fare better than the 13 inch, but I wouldn't recommend it.

  • you do understand its more about the hard drive than processor to prove said fact i can take a old dell with a singe core centrino and put a ssd in it and it would smoke it i only know this cuz i tryed

  • I got a 2011 macbook pro and I do video editing. I'm not editing a feature film but I think it does the job alright. It slows down a bit but I'm fine with it as I usually go do something else for a few minutes while it renders. Fcp10 runs alright not the best. Imovie is okay too.

  • which one the 13.3? does it overheats on hd vids when renderin...

  • there both extremely quick boot up

  • i feel that wen u have one apple product u must have them all

  • @TheDrew109

Yeah, I feel that way too. I started off with an ipod shuffle in 2005, and gradually moved to the touch in 2008, bought the 4th gen touch in 2011, then an iphone 4 early 2011, then the ipad 2 at launch, then a couple of days ago a 2011 Macbook Pro 13 inch. It gets addicting I must say lol. But Apple products satisfy me to be honest.

  • @Smile160482 yes, you can

  • This video just goes to show that the extra 300 bucks isnt worth upgrading to an i7. The i5 is just fine, and isn't that much slower. I think it's worth saving money. Using my 13.3" also makes the 15 look too big; it's the perfect size for a laptop.

  • @cheesefish90 Agreed, however if I were to get ANY macbook pro I would spend the extra money to upgrade the RAM from 4gb to 8gb (not through Apple though..they're high if they think I'll pay $200)

  • Hi, I'm a grad student looking to replace my shitty old Gateway with a mbp. I plan to use it for Illustrator, photoshop and the sims 3. I can't decide between the 13 and 15 inch! I love the size of the 15 inch, but I also need to save money! So... which one do I go for? I don't technically need a fancy computer, but I'd like it to handle everything without overheating or crashing. Is there such a huge difference between 2duo and quadcore? Derp.

  • @ubiquitousfacts 13 inch will overheat like a bitch get the 15

  • @thededer

Too late- I already bought the 13 inch, and so far it's okay for what I use it for. If I decide to into more detailed graphic work I'll probably invest in an imac.

  • Im thinking of purchesing a mscbook pro for video editing such as premiere, encore, after effects etc. etc. Would the 13inch with i7 do fine or should i get the 15inch with i7 (quad core)??

what´s the difference when using these programs?

  • i'm thinking of getting a macbook pro but am torn between the 13 inch and 15 inch with 256GB SSD. i know that the 13 inch has 2.7ghz while 15 inch has 2.3ghz and also the 15 inchers are equipped with the AMD radeon. there's about a 1000 dollars difference in the price...is the 15 inch worth it?? or should i just go with the 13 inch?

  • ca nu change that purple picture cuz every mac book has it

  • @Smile160482 no its built in, you cannot change it!!

  • I've had all three of the Apple products in this video, haha. I recently returned the 13'' in favor of the 15''. Just got it today, and WOW. LOVE IT!!! It's got such a nice screen without being huge like the 17'' or teeny like the 13''. It's so fast and I am loving it! I got it for a steal and brand-new; $1355! So stoked. :)

  • Hi, I'm going to buy a mabook pro but I'm undecided between the 13" or 15"..I'm a architecture student and I work with a lot of programs like photoshop, illustrator, autocad...I just want to know if there is a big difference between each other beacuse I like the 13 beacuse it's smaller and cheaper but the 15 it's more faster I think...can anyone help me chose one?

  • @maireny It sounds like you wouldn't really need the extra speed, I think a 13 inch would do fine, borrowed 13 inch from some of my friends on certain occasions, it doesnt seem like you would need the extra speed, the 13 inch doesn't slow down or lag too much, if any lag at all. The 13 inch that my friends let me use were both 2011 entree priced macbook pros, idk if it would really make a difference but, you could order a custom build on apples website, with 8 RAM if you really wanted to.

  • @maireny 15in 2.0 8gb ram and if you have money get the 2.3

  • @SOLE1PRODUCTIONS Dont ever buy ram from apple, they rip you off. get it at newegg for less than half the price. Dont get the 2.3 also!! this is a waste of money, it makes little difference. spend that money to a SSD its the most important upgrade you can get these days.

  • @maireny My personal opinion is that, though the 15" is bigger and faster, the 13"is (obviously) more flexible when it comes to carry it around. Specially having it in your bag, the 13" fits nearly everywhere.

In my studies we often use photoshop, illustrator, video-editing etc. and it runs fine on the 13". Of course theres a bit waiting now and then. One thing though is the small screen, which gets annoying after several hours of editing pictures/video.

  • the laptops are so similar in speed..the 15 inch is a lot more pricey and i think its only worth it if you are a gamer or designer. i got the 13 inch for college and games :)

  • is the speed difference between sizes big? I can only afford the 13 inch mac

  • Comment removed

  • Unskilled count !!

  • @GL1TCH3R123 1249.99

  • come watch my macbook 2011 edition fusion polycarbonate+aluminum special edition on my channel macbook 2011! more detailed than this crap

  • heeeyyy you shood give one of those awayy :) love ur vids

  • this and all similar videos are the geekest ever XD

  • start-up might take time according to the amout of stuff it has on its HD....i notices when i bought my mac pro new it was so quick to start..but now its taking a bit more time...then it was earlier...

  • If I install 8gbs of ram on the 13 in model would it be as fasts the 15in model stock?

  • @jcastrofilm Get the 128Gb SSD hard drive, not the RAM. Generally, SSD's improve boot-up times by approximately 100% (ie. half the time)

  • If I install 8gbs of ram w

  • both are shit

  • 0.22 vs 0.27.. not really much difference.

  • Not much difference in startup.

  • grass growing is only slightly more boring. why am i here!

  • @JakeLofven1 - MBP is more powerful. MBA is more portable. If you want to do really basic video editing, both would serve you. For more demanding video editing go for the MBP.

  • I'm not here to see the boot up speed, I'm here to compare the screen size .

  • Hows the MBP 13" 2.3ghz for Wow and SC2 Gameplay on middium, high setting?

    Thankz in advance

  • @joeastig from the videos/reviews I've looked at, Im very impressed. Capp around 50 or 60 FPS on WoW. not too sure about SC2

  • Looll, The 2011 13-inch model, is 1,139 on amazon and 1,194 on his site, not the cheapest :P

  • So i just tested me new 13" i5 ssd. I had MAIL automatically boot up from start and it did it all in 16 seconds! I am super impressed with this machine!

  • ok, like 2 seconds faster than the 13'' but like $600 more than the 13''........

  • @tldegrassi Because all you pay for is boot-up time!

  • Yeah you lie you are rice. Look at how many iMacs you have. You could use that money to help poor families!

  • @EdwardTheTechGeek Who says they're all his?

  • the biger you are the faster you are !

  • Does this outcome change depending on what extra software n apps you may have on the devices

  • Why Do You Have So Many Mac's ?

  • love my 15 inch MBP.. works all fine and fast, and I can throw any game on it

  • the new ones overheat

  • what is that dock for the ipod?

  • What was the purpose of the iPhone/iPod (can't really tell but I think it's an iPhone)? I mean, it's not like the timing on it was accurate.

  • I don't get it: why would anyone care for boot up speeds on a Mac? How reboots a MacBook? My last reboot was about 1 1/2 month ago.

Every new mac user I have to explain that you don't have to power it down and that, no, it doesn't damage your computer. And I think videos like this don't help ;)

  • can you compare the macbook pro 13in to the macbook pro 15in,

  • Wow, that MBP 15" is brand new and it has a dent on it.

I hate it when people don't take care of their electronics and keep them nice.

  • @TheJZ805 you are not going to MIT

  • who cares about one is a couple seconds ahead of the other. GO 13'!!!

  • So, what was that? Who cares about boot time? I boot my 2 years old MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo once in two weeks or so, and my boot time 30 seconds. :)

  • @gapsinteeth123 the 13" feels like a 15" if you get the HD display, but if it's going to be your main machine, or you'll be using it for extended periods of time, get the 15"; less eye strain

  • was the 13 inch i5 core ?

  • Im trying to decide between which one to get.

Right now I have a 27 inch iMac, May 2010 revision, and I need a Macbook Pro for portability, mainly for casual gaming, school, and some video editing. The only thing thats upping me to wanting the 15 inch instead of the baseline 13 inch is the processor, and the graphics card, but I cant decide if its worth it to pay the extra $600 just to get the 15 inch one Any help please?

  • @xxisean678 I've been looking at the same issue for about a week now and just ordered my 13" today! Honestly though, I do not do any gaming and only get into photo editing. So I'm a pretty lightweight computer user so the processor would have been wasted on me. If you're going to be doing a lot of video editing and gaming I would for SURE get the 15 but money and portability are definitely with the 13.

  • Just a quick question to any 13" owners.... I'm thinking of purchasing one very soon, can anyone inform me on how they've got on with the size of the unit, is it too small?

  • @gapsinteeth123 this is my second 13inch macbook and honestly its the best size its definitely not to small and its portable its a very comfortable size ..i really recommend it :D

  • @gapsinteeth123 I own a few 13" MacBooks and 1 MacBook Pro in 13" and 1 in 15". I can tell you, that you only notice what your missing once you've been using the 15" for a while. Everything fits snugly on the 13" screen which is the best compromise of size and portability. Trust me, unless you're really keen on screen size and you find smaller screens too cluttered it's not to small. You'll miss the size if you do video editing.

  • can you do a comparison of these 2 computers playing crysis demo, or full game if you have it

  • whattt, there practicaly the same, 3 seconds maybe.....

  • come on you will compare this, macbook pro 13 inch- dual core i5 Vs. macbook pro- dual core i7? of course the i7 will win.

  • was the 15" using the 5400rpm drive or the 7200rpm drive?

  • Its ugly upgrade. They realease new model almost every 6 months with super 0,05% faster hardware than previous one. What the hell? I have MBP 13" released in mid 2009 and i dont see any serious reason to change it for new model. This is all about bussiness. The only new feature in last months is that they released poor AppStore. And no comment on iPad1 vs iPad2. Apple is more boring as time goes.

  • My 13 inch macbook pro beat both yours by 15 seconds

    SSD!!

  • @milesthegreatbt dude im in the same boat as you. I got the 13 inch..and I cant slap my parents in the face and say no I want the 15 now O_o... im hearing the 15' has better graphics card for gaming? but...could the 13 inch still handle games pretty good?

    Thanks

  • Cool video :) Check out my video! unboxing the new Macbook Pro 13Inch

    watch?v=WCRzwx7mNIk&feature=channel_video_title

    Or check my channel! :)

  • 2 more days then im ordering mine from your link :) cant wait !

  • Sony's S 13" is much better than Apple's 13".

  • Comment removed

  • any explanation why the 15inch boots faster? lol

  • @damienfr6wah

The 15 inch model is equipped with the intel i7 quad core processor featuring the new Sandybridge architecture. Whereas, the 13inch model is equipped with the intel i7 DUAL core processor. The 15 inch model may also have a faster rpm hard drive.

If you want to find out more, be sure to check our channel in a few weeks time for unboxings and full reviews of the Macbook 15 inch and 17 inch models.

  • @TheAsianGrocer i7 is quadcore, i5 is duo core.

  • @SimonFanTV

I am not sure if you have seen the Apple website recently, but this is taken directly from the 13 inch Macbook Pro technical specifications page:

    "2.7GHz dual-core Intel Core i7 processor with 4MB shared L3 cache"

It is a common misconception to think the title of i7 is exclusively given to quad core processors, however it is also given to HIGH END dual core processors - high end meaning high clock speeds. Hope this clears things up.

  • @TheAsianGrocer That guy who works at Futureshop lied to me!

  • @TheAsianGrocer

Adding to that, the i5 and i7 processors are hyperthreaded, so one core can run 2 threads at a time. Many sites including from DELL advertises the "number of threads" per processor rather than number of cores. For example the i5 dual core processor here in this Mac can run 4 threads simultaneously. Many people are misguided to think the processors are actually quad core...

  • @TheAsianGrocer They are both sandy bridge, both have thunderbolt, but the 13" is i*5* not 7. Another huge difference is the video cards. Faster hard drive is an option on both machine. Be sure to read about these products before commenting lmao. How did that get 34 likes? *stunned*

  • @TheAsianGrocer

Sandrybridge isn't the architecture. Sandybridge is the code name. The architecture of the Sandybridge processors is 32nm, which is the size of the transistors.

  • @TheAsianGrocer dumbass.. the 13 inch doesn't even have an i7 version

  • @TheAsianGrocer they are both 5400rpm hdd's. the macbookpro 15 inch is just way more powerful looking at its hardware. but the boot up time is mainly decided by the speed of the hdd. if u want a real fast boot up, get a ssd :)

  • Hey man nice Vid !! okay so listen up about 7 months ago i got a as a gift mac book 15 i5 500gb 2.5 4gb 1067 mhz DDR3, i really want the new mac book that they came out with i know it is better than mine what should i do should i sell my macbook that i have right now on ebay and if so how much is the difference between the new one and mine im not really a computer guy but im going to college now and i am going to MIT also how much should i put it on ebay for

  • 0:42 fail

  • on amazon.com a seller sells these for 999$ w/o tax, i think we save more with that :/

  • This review lacks of more information. Never mention about wether if it's running 4 or 8gb ram, solid state or hard drive. This will make a big differencecon booting time.

  • @popitn2nd specs can be found @ apple.com

  • Aparture 3 please dude, please, or at least tell me something about aparture performance on 2011 MBP 13" i5 please...

  • I've got a MBP 17 unibody from when they first came out with a 2.66 intel core 2 duo in it. I plan to buy an iMac and a smaller MBP. The smaller MBP is simply for editing in final cut when on the go. Do they plan on putting out a quad core 13'' or not? I realize that the screen is smaller but how much slower/faster would the 15 or 13 be?

  • @XtremeSkydiversMovie wondering the same thing

  • are you running an SSD on the 15" or standard 5400rpm Serial ATA HD ?

  • which mac do you reccomend me buying if i like making videos, editing videos, using photobooth and stuff like that, thx and plz respond:)

  • @sketch4artist The 13 inch should suit your needs quite well.

  • my imac is faster ;)

  • Jonathan dude PLEAAASE make a world of warcraft mac wars please :(

between these two macs , or the new imac 21.5 inch baseline and the new macbook pro 13 inch i5 baseline

Please i beg u man this is important :(

  • just ordered my 13 macbook pro i5 cant wait

  • 15" looks way too big for me, not keen to lug that around college. 13" FTW!!!

  • Does the 13 inch have a bad display? it doesn't look as bright or clear as the 15 inch.

  • boot on the macbook pro's eh, i don't turn my mac off so it dosnt make a difference to me.

  • Could you compare the 15" 2011 macbook pro with the 2010 imac? Please

  • wow! but i would still got for the 13" due to the fact that smaller laptops are much better to carry around.
