hey ya nailed it good!!!......"Rockette Morton takes off again into the wind!!!"..........a great job with a very tricky blues number!!......more, more!!
@efzt I don't think that we are also referred as Krauts. It's true that Sauerkraut is also a traditional food here, but I think the term only applies for the German people.
LOVE the Bass Great little tune. :-))) Cheerful and delightful. ;-) <3<3<3 Simple things make me sooooo happy. ;-) Guess that is why I Love You. ;-) <3 GREAT BASS PERFORMANCE.
Don't talk eat..........this one accompanies a plate of Chilli con Carne with a decent cerveza such a Oro de Durango...difficult to find in the UK,but try Threshers Land O'booze...........On the other hand if you want something lighter try a tarte du Citron with a mango milkshake....Wicked !!!!!!!!!
Ry Cooder played the bass solo on this track. Check out John French's new book on the Captain 'Through the Eyes of Magic'. It will tell you loads of great stuff.
I just read an excerpt from the book in the latest issue of mojo magazine! Brilliant. Entertaining read. Made my stomach hurt from laughing. I see the tragedy also, but there's always a humorous side to the captain. Look forward to reading it.
The Captain took weirdness in rock and reinvented it in masterful ways like no one else. Great bass line replication here. Safe as Milk is my 2nd fave LP of his just behind Trout Mask and just ahead of Shiny Beast.
Hey! how do you do that? Sounds just like the recording; are you on top? if not how do ya take out the origional bass part? otherwise, great sinc job.
i love this song[it has been one of my favorites for many years....but what are you doing?? thank you though for posting. ofcourse you must realise Don Vanvliet is Truely TRUELY GREAT.this is one of my driving-in-the-car-songs,try ellaguru on trout mask replica,,,wicked fantastique!!!
I wouldn't nomally grace shite like yours with an answer. Articulate you ain't. If your taste is so 'vast', don't you recognize penillion countermelody? Twll dyn, gwas!

They should stop sucking on chicken bits....jeeze..If there were anything wrong with this, it would only be a lack of cowbell!! ;-j
Yeah bass!!!! Safe as milk was always my favourite album, used to repeat play, like repeat play, it when I was a young thing..... used to drive my family crazy.
You, my friend, rule the freaking planet! I am going to make a vid of me drumming beefheart soon and I hope it turns out HALF as good as this! If you send me a message I can send you some pictures I took of Don and Frank's childhood homes in Lancaster.
Hi! It's really amazing, this vid is the most watched one I did, so many people like it. Really great that there are so many Beefheart fans out there.
It was just the right time for you to ask me about the tab. I worked a few hours yesterday and today, and I have it finished. I don't find a place to upload it permanently at the moment, but I'll send you an e-mail with the PDF file, just give me your e-mail adress. I listened hard to the original and I discovered many mistakes I made when I shot the video. The tab should be as right as it gets. :-)
I know this is probably a lot to ask but every other tab on the internet is batshit crazy or incomplete; do you think that you could tab out the song?
I think one or two people did already ask me about this. And I think that the time is near to do it. :-) But don't expect it soon, it'll take some time as I'm quite busy at the moment.
Depends, I was into everything from free jazz to noise rock before I listened to Trout Mask so maybe I was better prepared to jump right in. I don't know if anybody can get right into it on the first or even second listen. The third time I listened to it front to back was when I think I really started to groove to it, by the forth listen I was bobbing my head with authority and laughing my ass off at "fast and bulbous, bulbous also tapered". It helps to take time between listens to absorb.
Hello again! the "big baboon" in the song was an image on a popular candy bar that was around in the 60s - yep the song is about rippin into a bar of chocolate! - y'all can sleep easy now ya know eh? ;-)
