  • Music ..........cut it out.....

  • thats pretty cool man!

  • just brakes? I didn't hear any reverse thrust; I could do that in a B727 but need max reverse.

  • @XBoeingCapt There was definitely reverse thrust there. The 35 has a distinct sound when they stow, and you can hear it in this video. And heck yeah, I bet a 727 could! Those things were beasts!

  • WOW... That was in a Lear? Nice.

  • Wow, nice!

  • to some of the previous comments its not irresponsible (this is only 1 video) and if you don't train and stay current for the unexpected you may not survive a situation that could arise

  • @leokov I get nervous doing this in one of panorama's 172s

    kilo is always a win

  • SPAM

  • SWEEET!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice work. Looked well flown from my armchair.. :-)

  • beautiful landing! i didnt know lears were capable of that

  • Irresponsible? Yeah.... To be the best, you have to challenge yourself. And i'm sure this guy could put that lear down just about anywhere in an emergency. Nice flying. I see guys getting sweaty palms going into 2,000 foot strips in their skylane. Now thats irresponsible. And dangerous.

  • Seems rather irresponsible to make a habit of this kind of flying, especially in a high performance aircraft like the Lear...

  • If you flew in the mil this is common. I would venture to guess he flew an AOA approach. When you fly the AOA you can really fly an airplane to the max of its potential as far as performance goes.

  • @ROCKSTARCRANE not realy if all else fails most 35's have drag chutes, and some reverse thrust

  • Ahh... White Plains, the Teterhole alternate... Nice Video BTW. If I have no PAX on board to scare the shit out of I like aerodynamic braking, since I have the same brakes and a 23.5k MATOW/19.5k MLW(60). I dont do it as do it as agressively in the 60 as I used to in the 24, 25 and 35 since I dont want to findout bout how close the D fins get the the runway surface.

  • Do you do charter for panorama or something

  • nice man! What hangar do u keep it at?

  • Just a hair over 1600ft? Some guys can barely do that in a 172. lol

  • Were the brakes on fire after that?

  • Cool video, but why the music? It has nothing to do with the video. It adds nothing to the clip.

  • Agree........

    YouTube is rife with this

  • B E A T I F U L, any one know the name of the song?

  • I fought the law and the law won

  • Nice landing and awesome skills for when it's need it into short runways. But, why wear the brakes pads and possibly burn them and pop the tires when not need it? I was always told not to land long and not to wear the brakes. Since it saves the company money.

  • Nice "flying it onto the runway". Obviously done for the video clip (dipping under typical glide slope & brutal on the brakes). Good work! ;) Great clip!

  • nice vid leokov i ve watched some of your vids and they are very nice keep uploading them

  • nicely done

  • The 35 doesn't have spoilers does it? You must have left some rubber back there. I used to find bald spots on my left main every 100hr inspection, never heard a skid though.

  • Yes, the 35 has spoilers, however most people try to aviod using them in flight because there are only two available positions, extended and retracted, and they make quite a bit of noise when fully extended in flight.

  • Very, very nice. That looks like something from a Citation. Doing that with a Lear is very impressive. Beautifully stable approach. I have a little time in the 25, none in the 35.

  • I was curious what your approach speed is during that approach and what speed you touch down at... and are you carrying a light load for the landing?

  • It's actually about 1700 feet. Still, a fairly short rollout.

Can't do that in a 55 or 60 (in which I have the vast majority of my Learjet time). Short field for me was taking a 60 into Meigs. The runway was 3900 feet long and the plane needed 3300 feet of it.

Like this landing, it's all brakes. It's like you said. By the time the buckets come out and the engines have spooled up enough to provide you with reverse thrust the landing is over with.

  • ice the music on the next video

  • you can have alot of fun with a 35 being a former F/O and Captain on one (N335RC) We used to have contests at SRQ and LAL to see who can do what with it. Unfortuneately the best I can do now is land at LGA in the ERJ and stop it in 3 grand which is my best.

  • How many feet of useable runway was that?

  • Did you get the clam shells out or just pure brakes?

  • With most of my four years of jet experience in the Lear-60, it was always amazing how the 35/36 seemed like such a slow and short landing aircraft on those few occasions when I was pressed into piloting it...

  • haha ... that was sweet ... hope you pissed on the brakes after that ..

  • I've turned off on Lima...with a 35 knot headwind in a 172 ;)

  • good!

  • Nice exit on Kilo, might be cooler without music though

  • I'm sure the people who live in those townhouses are constantly complaining about the noise from the airport which was there long before they were.

  • They were probably deliberately built as insurance against future expansion.
