Very nicely done. I just ordered this piece for my senior recital and there is much that can be taken from this performance. That being said, I do have a few concerns. There seems to be very little emotion being brought forth from the performers. The music stand gets in the way and there is not as much visual presentation as there could have been; I as the audience did not feel connected to the performers.
thats one amazing marimba... im jealous... im very fond of the 5 octave grand marimba from malletech...
but agree... the page turner... no no... although I have to say that it is impressive for you to read music and maintain rhythmic/pitch accuracy, that is impressive. I enjoyed it nonetheless, very talented, but A LOT of potential man, keep at it. and if you want to ship that marimba to me, i'll give you my address... ;-)
I commend both of you for your attention to detail. All of the most difficult ensemble moments are executed to near perfection! However, I get the overall impression that there are absolutely no risks being taken here. 1. the page turner standing in front of the marimbist is absurd 2. tempo is simply too slow, completely lacks energy and direction. This is soooo close to being great...just go for it PLEASE!!!

Great piece. felt like a very "safe" performance. take more risks with this piece and make some beautiful music with it.
