None of the cannabinoids have any effect on the dopamine system, there is a completely different system involved called the endo-cannabinoid system. The phtyo-cannabinoids from the cannabis plant stimulate receptors specifically adapted to these chemicals for some reason. Maybe it was the cannabis plant that adapted to us? Or is it more complicated?

Psychologically, it can be somewhat additive but so can good sex or jogging. Let's hope they don't make those illegal too..lol.. Industrial hemp is Cannibus Ruderalis which is still weed but has been genetically altered to have less THC. But it still can grow, if you get a pure strain, with enough THC to get you high.

@batistaker123 That was interesting fact as another docco I watched tells a different tale. It tells of how a Director at DuPont had a chat with his mates in Congress to make Hemp illegal by saying "only Anti-Americans such as Hippies and Mexicans smoke pot, or Hemp...". At the same time DuPont were about to release their latest invention - Nylon. At the time, and still to this date, the only fibre of either natural or sunthetic properties stronger than Nylon is Hemp. Both reason are very valid!

hemp is not just another word for weed. hemp/cannabis is the actual name of the plant used way before its slang names were invented i found an article on it recently, google How to Make Tanks out of Marijuana
it talks about making composites, fuel, food and plastic and out out the marijuana plant and says if it became legal it would cause corn/soy industry, oil companies, the cotton industry, pesticide industry, paper industry, and other industry go bankrupt . Hemp is 10x stronger then steel

The decleration wasnt actualy written on hemp. The draft of the decleration was. It was beleived that the decleration was writin on hemp because it was the most common paper at the time it was wrote. Its sense been proven false though. The draft was hemp though. As for marijuana being iligal it was a lot of reasons. most people hated it and all had diferent reasons. weed isnt bad. if anything, alcohol is worse. nobodys life ever got fucked up from smoking weed. the only reason their life got fucked up was cuz its illegal and they got thrown in jail for it. it wasnt because of them actually smoking it. but why is it illegal? it jus makes you chill and peacful, i mean yeah, it could distract from schoolwork, but thats whhy you make it illegal til your out of school like alcohol. then ya got nothin to worry about, ya know? damn, this comment is long..

It does not release dopamine. THC is tetrahydrocannabinol and works with the cannabinoid receptors in the brain, that is what makes u high.

@Croook420 THC modulates and interatcs with a multude of neurons and receptors other than just endocannabinoids (i.e. CB1 & CB2 receptors).
THC indirectly modulates dopamine receptors.

And, according to www1.american.edu: "Hemp is considered by many to be the world's oldest agricultural product and has a long history in the US as an important fiber product. Both the Declaration of Independence and the original St. James Bible are printed on hemp paper. George Washington advocated a hemp-based economy for the US".

@einXtein I'm not sure about plant-based parchment, but will advocate the use of hemp for fibrous purposes.
I also advocate the seeds for dietary purposes, and the flowers for medicinal and recreational purposes. Naturally, selectively breeding the plants for one purpose could compromise other purposes, but It's a useful plant.
I'm not for using it as fuel, but that's just because it wouldn't give us enough power. Also, like I said earlier, the oil should be eaten.

@goalieman3030 your wrong its all the same plant. People use the word hemp because it doesnt have the stigma of the word marijuana or cannibus. Industrial hemp is Cannibus Ruderalis which is still weed but has been genetically altered to have less THC. But it still can grow, if you get a pure strain, with enough THC to get you high.

@d3l1a4973 hemp has 1/10 the thc amount of marijuana. and yes it can still grow because like all things, its a plant and if you smoke enough you can get high i know! but hemp has other uses like clothes, bags, lip balm, etc. but in the end they are basically cousin not sister plants and therefore have different effects and uses. so that is why hemp isnt used as a medical herb.

@goalieman3030 because legal hemp (the seeds you would buy legally) is certain strains of Cannabis Ruderalis which were genetically altered to contain little to no THC or other cannabinoids. Even look up the defintion of marijuana.

@goalieman3030 hemp comes from a different variety within the same species and is grown under somewhat different conditions, but by any layman's standard, it is the same plant. Hemp and Marijuana are about as different as red, green and yellow bell peppers are from each other.
