You can tell what a university values by what the college and current students emphasize during (and even before) -recruiting-. If you don't know before orientation, you haven't done your homework.
For example, LSU overly emphasized sports and drinking while I was searching for and looking at colleges, and they were supposed to be marketing to the "gifted and talented". I went to Tulane instead. Do your homework! You don't want to be unhappy in college!
