JAPANESE ANIMATORS most certainly don't surpass american ones I believe that japan's talent lies in their art and their ability to make 2-d art appear 3-d But amercia can make excellent 3-d art !! take pixar this movie doesn't beat pixar's at all but all their drawn ones like ultra maniac Superb i've never art like that before its too pretty :) so in conclusion, the two countries have their own skills and talents and styles both equally good

ok im american, i read all the comments under mine that talk about how japanese anime surpasses american anime and i agree with all of you guys ;) japan definitely does surpass us, the animations of family guy and the simpsons and things like this are just stupid to me, japan definitely does a way better job ;) but i really do hope too that america does take a step up and work on better anime :/

Japanese 3D animation still has a long way to go in my opinion. 2D animation is still Japan's forte definitely. The animation here shows potential, but in comparison to works from studios like Pixar and Dreamworks, it's too jerky and 'video game-esque'. I look forward to its improvement though. There's my two cents :)

@MewPassionAngel - i see your point of view - however i think you need to look abit further then this anime to have a full view on the skilz from japanese 3D artists.

@MewPassionAngel - and i think you forgot the fantastic animes: appleseed - and there's even more animes from japan that surpasses American animation.. well when it comes to realism - that is... besides that, those jap animations i mentioned tend to be for an more adult crowd , like my self - contra the American ones that are made for the kids segment ( or family) - Don bluth tried the japanese fomula and failed a couple years ago with: secret of Nimh and Titan A.E - both very dark..

@crazycutz Yeah it's a shame American animation is so limited, the only American cartoons for adults are satirical shows like The Simpsons and Family Guy. I hope American animation pushes its boundaries a bit more in the future.

@Komuya no i did not - thats just awesome - - shows how skiled those koreans are at animation - i know they do alot of Scifi with alot og CGI effects at the moment - so why not animations..

still im not so sure it was made in Korea - the main animator director is: Joaquim Dos Santos

who did a lot of work for : warner, Batman, Jonah Hex, Justice League G.I Joe, etc.

and Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko
