    :( i still do im only 11

  • you look beautiful.

  • I'm proud of you that you don't feel the need to change your appearance. I love your strength. Keep on and stay strong! Glad I watched your video.

  • I have both, spent most of my life being picked on. I love myself and I will never change for anyone and anything. I work as a security officer and I do some martial arts with MMA training. Those who have what we have...

WE WILL ALWAYS BE AROUND.. AND WE WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN...

YOU CAN EMAIL ME IF YOU WANT FIND ME ON THE YOUTUBE EMAIL

  • You are just beautiful the way you are, without any more revisions. I am 46 years old, educated, married and have two sons with no problems. I had full palate reconstruction about 7 years ago due to bone loss. You remind me how important and fortunate we are to have been instilled with confidence. You are right, you are who you are because of your journey! Thank you for your video!

  • You are smart and beautiful - no worries. I would like to know if there was a familial history of cleft palate OR if doctors determined other factors. Stay well and inspired and have many adventures.

  • @SuperGscot Thank you! In my case there was no family history of clefts. And it was never investigated if there was a specific cause

  • @TheMegan2401 When I was younger I definitely was in a way harassed for having a cleft in that the same kids would ask me about it nearly every day. Initially I thought it was curiosity, but after it persisted for so long I realized it was something else. I know it is what everyone says, but honestly it does get so much better! I wish you all the best!

  • i think your beautiful :)

  • @bubzytube Thank you!

  • @Issykle My little brother was born with cleft lip and cleft palate and he has his own facial team. I honestly love how you said you dont need makeup to cover up your scar. Those scar and your lip define who you are and your truley beautiful. I wish the best for you!

  • @brebre489 Thank you!! In general I find it so frustrating that girls are constantly told by society that you can't be beautiful without makeup. That is so not true!! Anyway, thank you and I wish you all the best!

  • @snowydro1 look you no life wanna be piece of shit, she's not over weight she's beautiful and I'm 13 cleft lip palate and I'm as skinny as you ever WANNA be if you don't believe me then go to my channel and I have a video of me and my sister. And for cleft lip palate I'm pretty damn sexy so shut your fucking mouth

  • I had a cleft lip and palet. It influenced the way I speak . My voice sounds nosal. I used to be laughted at when I was a child by kids who didn't know me. Though, I had a lot of friends who knew and protected me. Even boys from my class fought for me. I wasn't really overburduned by this. Now I'm 26 and I need to make decisions regarding the operations that would repair my nose(inside) to help me breath much better. And now nobody knows. People sometimes think I had some kind of an accident

  • @thomasej85 or that I fought with somebody and I broke my nose. Those stories are funny. I work with a woman who is a speech therapist. She couldn't believe that I had cleft palet when I told her. Well I sing and record music so maybe it isn't that bed with y voice. Your voice is beautiful and You are beautiful.

  • @snowydro1 people with clefts aren't always overweight :/

where'd you get that assumption from? I have a cleft lip and I'm ideal weight for my age,

people don't usually ask me anymore about my scars etc but sometimes they do, which I don't mind, until the name calling and laughing starts :(

  • Great video. I am the mother of a little girl who was born with a cleft lip. It was a surprise to us (had tons of ultrasounds but for whatever reason they missed her significant cleft) and she is just the sweetest human being. It pains me to know that people can be awful to one another over things like this. Thank you for using your experience in a positive way. You are beautiful:)

  • @celinaanais Thank you so much! I wish you and your daughter all the best!

  • why are people with cleft lip always overweight?

  • what the fuck robbykonevil she gawjuss, and why is she ugly in ur opinion because if her lip. i have a cleft lip and im not ugly so shut the fuck up

  • ur beautiful, u know that right?

  • I actually am in the same position. Nobody in college asks about your scars. Its kind of nice and really different for me.

  • @tylers313 That's great to hear!! It is definitely a nice atmosphere to be in when people aren't staring and asking questions. It really makes you feel "normal"

  • am so proud of you. its taking me really until this year and im 23 to except it. going to school was an anxious time and i used to find ways of getting rid of the anxiety. but at the end of the day you dont need to try and change to fit in. what you said about when you were younger you would want to change that you had the cleft lip but now you dont. brilliant xx

  • @milpup20 Thank you!! Wish you all the best!

  • Good vid!! :)

I'm 16 years old and I was born with a cleft lip. I'm from Finland and cleft lip is a pretty common thing here. I have had about 5 surgeries and I look quite normal now. I really liked your video.

  • @Rroosu Thank you! I greatly appreciate it! Wish you all the best!

  • I have a blilateral and completely disagree with your outlook. I guarantee that if you could experience life looking normally that you would not want to have a cleft. I figured out I could grow a mustache in my mid 30s and this dramatically improved my ability to interact with people. You are completely wrong about not doing everything in your power to look normal. Adults are just as prejudiced as kids. You will deal with tremendous social isolation. Don't fool yourself & change!

  • you look great and thanks for this video ;)

  • Very mature outlook at such a young age. Impressive. So since we share the same flaws let me add this. The things that make us different are the things that make us unique. And let me state for the record you truly are unique! :-)

  • @suprafun101 Thank you, you are incredibly kind. I wish you all the best

  • WOW, EXTREME SHIT, LARA.

  • You are cute! :)

  • I was born with A cleft lip and pallot. I just got done with my nose surgery about a year ago now. I am fifteen a softmore in highschool. And Ya i know what u mean it was pretty awkward when kids would ask me about my nose and lip. But now i'm fine i look like i never had anything wrong except a scar from the lip up to my nose its not to noticable tho. but good luck with everything

  • Love your video im 15 and was born with a cleft lip and still waiting for more surgeries but almost done youve kinda inspired me to not care about what other people think of me and just be proud of the way i look XD. thanks.

  • @glamslam123 and palete XD

  • @glamslam123 You are most welcome. I am so glad to hear you say this; it really shouldn't matter what others think about you. What matters is how you see yourself. When you are proud of yourself you have more confidence, and you present yourself differently. And because of that others will be more ready to accept and respect you.

  • @Issykle XD

  • @MrJohnbarrowman1996 Thank you

  • Looks fine to me = )

I think your clearly very pretty.

Right now Im fostering a kitten with a cleft lip.

  • @SugarGliderAddict Thank you :) Good luck with your kitten :)

  • right on laura! i'm born with cleft palate and lip..what's left now is a scar but i wouldn't change the circumstances for anything..i am what i am now because of the things i went through, it made me stronger, smarter and creative... i am a 25 y.o. English high school teacher, attending law school, writer, avid traveler, amateur photographer... i am constantly growing and learning, i guess that's what you get if you spend less time in front of the mirror..hehehehe

  • @minescore Wow you really keep busy, I am very impressed!! I really do feel the same way in that having a cleft really teaches you to be strong and stand up for yourself because you have to really work to earn the respect and understanding of others.

  • I officially love you.(: I was born with one too and it does reallllyyy get annoying and makes me distracted with alot of my school work all the time when people always talk about it. Like I KNOW WHAT A MIRROR IS DUMBASS! gosh i think thats why i have bad temper .

  • @Issykle I'm really so glad for your video, I born with cleft and plate, and I have a rough days in my childhood, since being 18yo I see that I have a normal conversation and looks by people around me, anyway I'm 25yo now and I have my own buss company which is success. also I feel that cleft & plate is just normal like evolution or something in genetic race. anyway you're so lovely and I would like to be your friends I'm going to email you. just want to send my greeting from Egypt :)

  • @pap0ndn3na Thank you so much!! I am so sorry for the pain you have experienced. I am glad to hear you have overcome so much and are so strong now! I wish you all the best. Thank you!

  • i was born with cleft lip and palate 2

  • Just wanted to say how amazingly beautiful you are. As someone who has a bilateral cleft lip and palate I know too well how difficult it is growing up in a world so obsessed with what you look like rather than who you are. Even more so when you are a girl as we can't grow a moustache to hide the scars. It is also great to see that you refuse to hide who you are. As others have said, you are an inspiration and I just wanted to wish you all the best in your life

  • @inkblotsandquills Thank you so much! Your comments are greatly appreciated, and I am truly humbled. Thank you.

  • @Fashonista373 Thank you so much for your kind words. Hearing your opinion of yourself is an inspiration to me as well as it is nice to hear you are comfortable with who you are. I wish you the best of luck with modeling, having your confidence will definitely help :)

  • Thank You For Making This Video.! Im 14 And Was Born with Both Cleft lip and Palate. You Are A Very Brave Person.! I Really Hope To Be Like You.. At My Age Its Hard For Me To Explain My situation To Other People. I Feel Their Pity And I Dislike That I Don't Want Anyone Feeling Sorry For Me Or Anything I Want to Be Treated Just Like everybody Else. When I was 12 I went To My Mom ANd Cried To Her telling her i Wanted to Talk With My Dr. I Was Tired Of People Belittling me.! My Dr. Has Really helpd

  • wow, you're so strong!

I'm 15 and was born with a cleft lip too, but it wasn't bad, and i have minimal scarring.

There was always someone asking what the scar (even though its not noticable from a distance) was from, it just got frustrating answering when i was little and didnt really understand what it was. Now i have an amazing boyfriend, perfect teeth, and im going for another operation in a couple of years to reduce what scarring there is,

It's good to know theres people just the same :)

  • omg..very strong girl!!! im 7 month preggo. and my baby, have a lip cleft.... thank you .... its going to help me...

  • @TheDia777 Thank you so much! I am incredibly glad I could be helpful! And congratulations! Please let me know if you have any questions.

  • try out for oprahs reality show, u r interesting!

  • Thank you

  • Hi I going to have a nose job because I will feel better in my skin I do it for myself !

    It is your choice !

  • @Jillthinkstwice Choosing to get a nose job is certainly your choice. I was just trying to emphasis that people should only change their appearance if they want to (not because other are pressuring you). And I wish you all the best.

  • Your very beautifull, i am a 29 year old and i was born with bilateral cleft lip and palate.

  • @bfavreforprez Thank you so much!! I hope I could have been of some help <3

  • @Issykle hello again, i'm wondering what surgury you had performed that gave you the cupid bow appearance and created so your able to move your upper lip above your teeth very well, i got very weak upper lip muscles, so i'm wondering what surgury can do that cause i don't have the cupid bow affect, hope to hear from you soon.

  • @bfavreforprez Unfortunately I do not have a clear answer for you. The only surgeries I have had were the initial repair to the lip and a bone graft. Having a cupid bow lip would be from the initial repair. I am unaware of a surgery that gives you a cupid bow later on, but that certainly does not mean that it doesn't exist. I know my surgeon put a lot of emphasis on making sure I had a cupid bow, so maybe talk to your surgeon to see if there is something he is aware of.

  • omg u made me cry!!!!i was born with a cleft lip palet and u made me feel ALOT bitter about myself u rock!!!!!and so do all of the other people with clefts!!!!!

  • @owlcityrox97 I am so glad I could help!! If you ever have concerns or comments please let me know!! :)

  • I wish I had support growing up, I also had surgeries, braces for skew teeth, the asking wasn't to bad but how some just had the need to be vicious, I preffer them asking politely rather than just make harsh comments... You go through fases just like any other teen with their insecurities, where I used to live they were harsh here in the UK now I feel much better.

  • LOL! 8========D~~~~~~

  • yah society is changing enough. they become more educated. but those who doesnt know this cleft lip and palate, they still stay stagnant and idiot. hehe

  • omg im 13 and i was bornd with a cleft lip nd palet and my top lip look realy like yours

  • it iloks like your a cat (no affence)

  • I think that this is a bad comment to make and there is affence taken by me also a someone born with a cleft.

  • Trully touching

  • I'm 45, and I'm also a wife and mother of 4 boys. I'm glad that for some of the younger people their repaired clefts look ok for them. technology and medicine has changed since 1964, the way the repair is done now-a-days is amazing. My husband says, I look good to him, my kids are almost grown and they love me for me, but all my life, even after the repairs, wished that I was finacially able to get a revision done to improve my flatten nostril and to make my nose look even:(

  • "more internet than face to face." indeed, we are few and far between.

  • i love how you reached out and talked about this girl. people are so quick to judge. im in love with a kid that has this, and it changes nothing between us.

  • @caitlinthomp you mean your bf has cleft lip and you love him? To me its a bit hard to understand.

  • its hard to understand what?

  • Well I mean do you love him cause he's a good person in the inside or what are looks not important to you? I ask that because I can't understand it myself

  • i love him because of his personality. And i think he's really cute, even with it. he got surgrey on it when he was little, but it's still odvise and it sounds diffrent when he talks. but i still love him:)

  • Alright, I guess love it's more important, thanks:)

  • haha,your welcome:)

  • Life is only what you make of it. Life is hard and people are mean but that is no reason to attack me and my decisions I have made in my life. As far as I'm concerned you are no differant than the people that stare and make fun of us. I'm a very happy wife and mother of two and my life is wonderful. I have been so blessed. So get over it!

  • Thanks for commenting on my comment below, even though it has been removed. You sound like such an amazing person. I'm so glad to know there are people like you in this world. I sure hope you don't have any scars on your body becasue they are no differant then our scars. I hope that karma does not come knocking on your door because it isn't going to be prettty. Thanks and No Thanks, -0913DK

  • This comment is for suicidechickenshit, who is to chicken shit to recieve emails from people that he leaves comments for.

  • Hey, I know how ou feel.

I am 13 years old and constantly get made fun of because of my cleft lip.

Realy, it is so damn immature that people would base others on appearance and not personality. I don't care how 'hot' a person would be, ut if their a bitch, THEIR A BITCH! You can't change that.

Sorry, i had alot of steam to get out.

  • yea ur completly right. and i wanna help other guys with same problem. i wouldnt like other people to complain about themself the way i did with myself, i was a little hard on me.always when i take pictures i try to stand the opposite side, so i can loook normal.take care

  • i know its hard for us to live a normal life, to accept us the way we are,but trust to love God and lOVE yourself, if u do so other people is going to respect u, u know

  • wow girl your maturer than i am, i was born unilateral and i had the same problems like other that r born like these.5 learn how to survive, and im confident now

  • hi..anybody can answer my question? i have cleft lip..since birth..i can speak clearly..and i'm finish for the operation when i was in 5 yrs. old but i'm not satisfied because some of people are trying to insult me..because its obvious..because i have a scar..so thats why i feel ashame..my question is there's a chance to having a normal lip like others? is there's a operation for that? i'm 17 yrs. old..thats all! thanks!

  • I am sorry to hear about your struggle. Keep in mind that if you can see yourself as beautiful and "normal" then others will treat you that way. Please, never be ashamed of your appearance, it is who you are. I am not aware of any surgery that can make your lip look like everyone else's. Anytime you consider changing your appearance make sure you know why you are doing it (meaning it should be your own reason and not to please someone else)

  • your beautiful ..i wish you all the best

  • I am so grateful to hear how you have embraced having a cleft! You definitely made my week :)

  • Hi Laura, just wanted to say thank for the vid and you seem like such a sweet, and smart girl.

  • You are most welcome and thank you for your kind words!! I hope what I said helped!

  • thanx for this, having a bilateral cleff myself it's nice 2 see other people going through the same thing

  • Haha!! We could totally have a theme song :)

  • exactly! many other kids make fun of my cleft lip.

if they didnt ask or say anything i would be perfectly fine with my cleft lip.

  • i have the same thing as you and it looks exatly the same as yours and u are very butifual

  • You are such a sweet heart! Both me and my son have bilat cleft lip and palate. Keep it up!!!! Your doing great!!!!
