Aboriginal culture is the oldest living culture on earth, i think maybe didgeridoo was around before a drum even though we use alot of percussion in our traditional music.
DAMN this guy is good. Not all show-offy and tricky, just plain old-fashion good-tyme didgeridooin'. So tasteful and his friggin' breathing is flawless! He barely even moves his cheeks.
Does anyone know any good sources where I could learn some of the more advanced rhythms that don't involve tonguing (i.e. cheek/jaw/pallet, etc. wobble)?
@nonicknamekid2010 I can't imagine the drum being very old, it is quite complex to figure it out and build one! But I would agree that simply banging on a log with a piece of something is probably the most primitive way of making sounds that we have seen. In fact, how do you harvest a didgeridoo? You would bang on the logs until you find one that sounds void :)
it is great instrument , but is not the most ancient. in Europe arheologyst dyscoverd one flute 35,000 years old. sorry man! and ther is more to dyscover.
yeah it sure it is, notice he isn't tryin to play tricky, just laid back and simple with proper respect.. listen and learn.... how to play in public...

The very best is the Stringybark variety from Arnhem Land!
