  • I personality didn't smell this, but i smelled Viva la Juicy, and Peace Love & juicy couture. Viva la juicy makes me smell like one of those popular girls who act fake with blond hair ( I donno why my brain functions like that), it also gives me sick feeling from being too floral, and fruity. Peace and love on the other hand is way too musky(?) and makes me smell like french fries...o_O I don't even eat them that frequently!!! weird... o_O

  • @eVeRyTiFuL I've never heard a French fry perfume comparison!

  • couture couture smells so gross... it does not smell floral at all. i LOVE floral perfumes and only floral perfumes and i hated couture couture because it doesnt smell at all floral. peace love and juicy couture is worse it smells horrible! i hate the JC perfumes. Their bags are great but their perfumes stink

  • couture couture smells like a slightly fruity version of burberry london(there so close its scary, and london lasts wear as couture doesn't).

  • i didn't smell fruity sweety notes in this, i smelt a floraly musk

  • This video is ridiculous Juicy Couture andViva La Juicy are very popular smells (PS you say Couture wrong )

  • I love my Juicy Couture Couture perfume, its an amazing smelling perfume

  • I don't understand what is wrong with Viva La Juicy. It's wildly popular, and rightly so. It's very fresh and fruity, not at all like "Fruit Loop detergent" as you mentioned.

  • There are no such slogans from Juicy. Real examples are "Juicy wanted by all!", "Queen of Couture", etc.

  • @puffballs839 I quoted from the Juicy Couture ads. The ones that were out when this perfume came out.

  • I don't care for the other Juicy fragrances but this one I liked so much I purchased it. IMO it's reminicent of an 80s fragrance and especially reminds me of the Dior's Poison (before reformulation). It has the same plummy tones - not grape kool-aid! lol

  • In case some of you didn't know... This makeup guru is one of the few that actually uses closed captions for the hearing impaired on her videos. My educated guess is that she is more than likely reading from some type of prompt, so that it will be easy to create the caption file later. Not an easy process or one that she has to do. I've been playing around with it tonight and it isn't easy.

  • @DivineDiva79 Hi Syreeta - good guess, but I'm not reading from a prompt - I write a script that I memorize. And just as you say, I create a caption file by uploading the script. All my earlier videos have CCs, but now that I no longer script my reviews, I don't have text to upload for captions, unfortunately.

  • Are you bein serious or sarcastic ?

  • @Angor31698754 I'm having fun with my descriptions, but I'm serious regarding my opinions.

  • seriously lady .. loosen up .... this is so fake.

! not trying to be mean but i could not watch this whole video

  • @abryannahodges You weren't trying to be mean - it just comes naturally, I guess.

  • I actually love Juicy perfume. Though I only own viva la juicy

  • @DreamOfFireFlies There are a lot of Juicy fans out there for sure!

  • your really intense..and as if children can afford this perfume! or wear perfume in the first place...btw this perfume is freakin incredible and I think really classy

  • i tried a juicy couture fragrance once. It was so bad that even though I hear one of them is pretty nice, I'm too afraid to try it for fear that I will have chosen the wrong one! Maybe it was this one? It really smelled like nastiness candy and flower mix.

  • @akmarvell The one that holds together nicely (just as long as you go easy with it) is the first one, "Juicy Couture".

  • i got this in a rollerball yesterday, i like it because i have lola so i guess that is my more mature perfume which i only wear once in a while because i don't want to waste it, while this one is my girly and flirty more everyday one :)

  • @janiekendle It's easily available online at the discount perfume sites.

  • @janiekendle All the JC perfumes are really targeted to teenage tastes - it would be kind of a disconnect to smell them on an adult. But I always say - wear whatever makes you feel "mmmmmm", and if that's Couture Couture, so be it. If you enjoy the sweetness with a touch of incense or earthiness, you might check out V&R Flowerbomb, Prada (the original), and Kat Von D Saint and Sinner.

  • i smelled all three the other day, and this was my favourite.

in terms of smell i like couture couture the best, then viva la juicy (which smelled a bit like britney spear fantasy, which i already have and dont mind) then juicy couture which was ok. i dont like the name of this though, too hard to say. i think viva la juicy has the cutest bottle and juicy couture has the best box.

  • @houseofbeauties I do love the Juicy Couture overall packaging and ad campaigns. So fun and filled with fantasy!

  • i own the couture couture by juicy couture.

    and i love it.

you just have taste in perfumes, because they smell great.

  • I don't like any of the Juicy Couture perfumes. Viva la juicy smells like musky fruit tart scented store brand soap! Juicy Couture... don't even get me started and couture couture smells like cheap fruit punch. ICK do they mean for these fragrances to smell this way?

  • she says "couture" funny too :)

  • Your review is totally different from what I smell in couture couture. I just get a sweet, inoffensive floral (Honeysuckle I assume), and grape kool aid.

  • @Evange Well, I"m with you on the white floral and the grape Kool-Aid.

  • I disagree. I'm sorry. it doesn't smell like 50/50 blend of JC and VLJ. I went ahead and right before I put up my Couture Couture reveiw, I decided to do my own experimenting and mix equal parts together of the original two. The result? NoT CC!!! (which, totally randomized for bragging rights only, nothing personal =), I was the first one to have a CC reveiw on YT. Whoo hoo!

  • I smelled elements of both of the earlier perfumes in CC, but I didn't mean that they literally mixed them together! Sounds like you went the extra mile and did the lab experiment with the two perfumes, you rulebreaker you, and it probably smelled...not good.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells ACTUALLY......................you're right....it smelled AWFUL! LOL! I'll continue to where all my JC perfumes separatly, Gela and Pam, Thank you! LOL

  • @MrsBeccaHernandez Ha-ha! Stick to the smelling, and leave the mixing to the chemists!

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells yeeeeeeaaaaaahhh...do you have a reveiw for CHANEL Eau De Tendre?

  • @MrsBeccaHernandez I don't, but good idea!

  • I love Couture Couture!!!

  • thanks. I agree 100per cent. I miss the truly Parisian, French fragrances.

  • Agreed with everything you said. I thought the same thing when I smelled Couture Couture. I think they just mixed Original Juicy with Viva la Juicy and added a hint of grape. :-). Smart of JC

  • @EBWASH89 Ha-ha...cutting costs by using what was already to hand.

  • I must be getting old: I was in a department store today looking for a new perfume. I told the very sweet - and very young - sales rep that I was looking for something "grown up".-"and elegant", she added. " And she showed me Couture Couture. And Lola. And Flora by Gucci. What to do? Probably realize that I should seek advice in the the right (elderly) places ;-) Having said that - given the time and the patience (in one's friends and cclleagues) there might be some hobo fun(-k) to be had.....

  • @Junichild That's a funny story. It's all relative - I suppose Flora is "elegant" compared to Pink Sugar. Although personally, I'd rather wear Pink Sugar. Flora smells like burnt hair to me.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells And a very lingering burnt hair smell - the day after my fragrance age-related Waterloo and after a refreshing shower - or so I thought - Flora was still there! ;-)

I've since retreated into my perfume past and purchased Miss Dior, not the cherie, just Miss. I wonder whether I'll actually use it or whether I''ll end up finding it too dated after all. Need to find some middle ground, I suppose :-)

  • @Junichild The word on the street is that Miss Dior ain't what she used to be. I can't comment, cuz I don't remember smelling the pre-reformulated version. And Luca Turin says it's been reformulated a bunch of times.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells I've been wearing MD today for the first time in over 20 years - and it does smell differently from what I remember - less characteristicly chypric and bold more "pleasingly" warm and woody. That's not what I was after....Hm. Could perhaps also be my sense of smell that has changed. I'll give MD a bit more time and see....

In your opinion are there any really good and bold chypres out there today? I need one :-)

  • @Junichild The following are GLORIOUS chypres - they'll make you so happy:

    Clinique Aromatics Elixir

    Amouage Jubilation 25 (for women)

    Dior Diorella

    Acqua di Parma Profumo

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Thanks ::-D Fragrance feel-good-rub-me-the-right-way-heaven here I come!

  • if you like light blue you may like mariah carey's luscious pink or true religion. People I sell light blue to tend to love those.

  • Thanks for the tip!

  • Thanks Katie for the heads up, this review has saved me a small fortune. BTW love the top too ;)

  • Thanks - I love wearing that top - the neck ruffle makes me feel like I'm popping out of a present!

I always urge people to try the perfumes I review for themselves, in case you find something in it that I missed.

  • I love how you describe a fragrance and there personality ! Ive sold perfume at dillards for 3 years now and its like youre an expert! I didnt like couture couture that much. Its not movin very fast as its sister viva. Couture couture smells like amerige to me by givenchy lol

  • Thanks, tyeelkins! It's good to get the insight from you on what's selling at the perfume counter.

  • nice spinal tap ref with the 11. D minor is the saddest of all keys

  • If this perfume thing doesn't work out, I could always work in a shop of some kind...a chapeau shop...what size do you wear, Sir?

  • I love the bottle & packaging for this fragrance! The scent is "ok" but love the bottle! I might break down and get it for that reason alone! lol

  • If the scent doesn't get ya, the bottle will, lol!

  • I tried I and I actually liked It, I got the impression that it smells different in my skin from what It smells in the bottle,

  • Oh yeah - perfume is meant to be experienced on skin, for sure! It needs to warm up and react to your skin to reveal its true personality.

  • Thanks for all your videos- I went and smelled this and made the mistake of spraying it all over myself because I felt like I had just bathed in grape soda all day long!! yuck- not my taste, but at least it lasted all day long...I guess...

  • Melanie, that's the unwritten rule of perfume: the ones you're not crazy about are the ones that last forEVER on your skin!

  • ok, i don't mean to be rude or anything but you sound really fake, it doesnt look natural at all, lookes staged and memorized, well at least the review makes sence and you look like you know what you're talking about.

  • @jmsfly Glad to know you got *something* out of the vid ;-)

  • i just fell in love with this chick!! :)

  • I love this perfume, but I learned to spray it then walk into it because it's so strong!

  • Good tactic.

  • a magical queendom wtf!?!?!?!

  • Yes I do know what "no offense" means

  • It wasn't clear that you did.

  • Hey Katie I just turned sixteen and all I want is my first bottle of perfume. I am debating between three. I like the sweet sexy Michael Kors by Michael Kors, the floral and woody Narciso Rodriguez for her perfume and lastly the fruity and girly Couture Couture by Juicy. I am kind of young and was wondering if the Michael Kors or Narcisa are too mature smelling. However the reason I don't really want the Juicy perfume is I feel everyone my age wears it. Anyones advice would be lovely. Thank you.

  • I'll put my thinking (smelling?) cap on and get back to you. My initial thoughts are that the Michael Kors is a bit loud and bludgeoning to the nose. And you're right, the popularity of the JC perfumes can diminish the specialness of it for you. My personal fave out of the 3 is the NR For Her, and you should compare/contrast the edt, edp, and the brand new musk versions.

I'll chime in later with some more thoughts.

Does anyone else have any suggestions?

  • @mbonartz Okay, here's a list of sweet-ish white florals for you to try:

    Kat Von D Saint

    Michael Kors Very Hollywood

    The Body Shop Love Etc

Christian Dior Miss Dior Chérie L'eau

    Stella McCartney Stella Sheer 2009

  • Thank you for replying and putting so much thought in to my question. I really am grateful for your time and I can't wait to get a whiff of all the perfumes you suggested they sound great. Thanks for all your great videos, they are very insightful and entertaining :)

  • You're so welcome! Let me know what you end up getting.

  • Hi Katie I LOVE UR VOICE! it's veeeery soothing :)

  • Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuu (said soothingly).

  • OMG i love this perfume!!! It lasts forever :)

  • I just got Couture Couture by Juicy Couture and I love it!

  • Cool!

  • i think it smells like a super strong version of jc the original

  • Personally my ranking of the three are:

    couture couture

    viva la juicy

    juicy couture

    (greatest to least)

  • I smelled it and almost dropped dead, that's how much I loved it. Sprayed myself head to toe, came home after 45 min it was already gone. It has no staying power what so ever (at least not on me). But hey, I still got the largest size and almost spend $100 on it. It's all good I'll enjoy the few minutes that it does give me. I am a parfume addict, so had to get this one. I don't like any other JC parfumes.

  • I'm the same way - if I love a perfume, even if it doesn't last, I'll just obediently keep spraying it on.

  • Hi Katie,

What did you think of Viva La Juicy? Trying to decide whether or not to buy it at Perfumania and I value your opinion :-)

  • I think Viva La Juicy smells harsh and nondescript: too many fruits and caramel and candy just bunged in together willy nilly. For a bright, sweet perfume, I prefer Kat Von D Saint, D&G 10 La Roue de la Fortune, Christian Dior Miss Dior Cherie or The Body Shop Love Etc to Viva La Juicy. Having said that, if you just love that Viva smell, you'll need to follow your nose.

  • ive been dying for this perfume for weeks!!!

  • Maybe Santa will take care of you!

  • Please please please please please review the True Rdligion Fragrance for woman!

  • A very useful description! Katie, your way with words shines a search-light on a world previously closed to non-smellers like myself.

Also great, as until now I've never trusted the LOOK of the taste displayed by reviewers.

I'm just hoping you keep telling it like it is!

  • Thanks kindly, Miss Spit!

  • Um its couture not couchure..

  • Um thanks...

  • your welcome (: just trying to help out.

  • I found a Couture Couture sample in my Ulta catalog and came back to watch the video. It's nice but weird to smell the floral and musk, it hasn't worn down to the incense hippie smell.

I think I'm starting to get a headache. lol

  • Yeah, don't get clobbered by the Ulta catalog - you have a big weekend ahead of you!

  • You're describing it not dissing it.

  • Exactly.

  • Magical Queendom :)

  • I personally think it is the best perfume in the world.

I dont see what your problem is with Juicy. :/

  • That's great that you get so much pleasure from Couture Couture! It would be a pretty boring world if we all had the exact same tastes, and all wore the same perfume.

  • Bahh-haa-haa! I would never buy a product from a line called "juicy couture". Especially not something called "couture couture". The words become meaningless.

  • Christian Dior Miss Dior Chérie

  • I know he's singing about perfume... but are you sure a song that basically says "You don't wear perfume, and that's why I want to spend my life with you" is the right soundtrack for the vlog of a woman who seems to enjoy her perfume? xD

  • Ahh, but you must listen to the spoken bit in the middle of the song where the singer reveals that because perfumes bring up painful memories of all the women in his life, he wants to protect himself by not having a fragrance association with his latest love. Perfume is just too evocative for him!

  • um, i quite like that perfume. a lot.

    idk what ur problem is.

  • i think couture couture is absolutely beautiful. much better than viva la juicy and slightly reminiscent of the original one.

  • I agree that CC is better than "Viva" and reminiscent of the original JC.

  • i was kind of hoping you'd like CC, try it out again! i really like it better than their other two, but i also enjoy watching you very very much!

  • Thanks, ES!

  • i find myself being influenced by your opinion so much! i don't buy a perfume anymore unless your review on it says its good! haha

  • So flattering...but ultimately, you're the expert in how you like to smell. Fragrance is such a wonderful way to express your individuality!

  • Wow, check out the bottle ! Luv the fringe too.

  • Thanks, KK!

  • HAHHAHA. Hilarious. I won't be purchasing. I prefer, dark, woodier notes.

  • Love your hair, and the reviews!

  • Cheers!

  • you look amazingg :)

  • LOVE the new hair!!!!

  • Thanks for the hair props, all!

  • Aaw! Cute Katie! Love the new hair!

  • Katie, I was wondering if you could possibly do a review on Bvlgari Rose Essentielle. That is my all time favorite perfume and Id love if you could review it!

  • hilarious review. awesome top!!

  • ugh white florals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my worst freaking nightmare. ugh Juicy and Viva are horrible, I can't imagine this is any better:)

  • You should steer clear of CC, in that case.

  • i didn't get this video in my sub box...luckily i follow ur tweets :)

  • Great review..I'm finding that I love that incense-y smell lately.

  • I just love incense, too. I'd like to clarify that there seems to be just a suggestion of incense in CC, nothing that dramatic.

  • can you do a reveiw on the victoria's secret peace, love, hope pink body mist?

  • This is my favorite daily perfume. It melts into a warm vanilla on my skin and smells very young and gorgeous. Then again, I am 14. ;]

  • Ha-ha!

  • LOL CHAOS.

  • i luv the way you world stuff.i enjoy watching your videos!

  • Thank you!

  • Thanks Katie!

    New haircut, great top!

  • You know it!

  • love the bottle...

  • haha your to funny.. love your top

  • I'm a 13 year old girl and ah-bviously thinking of getting one =)

  • Can you do a review for Calvin Klein's Euphoria perfume? Thank you

  • You say "couture" funny.

  • haha your so funny!

  • Have you smelled Rush by Gucci? I would love to hear your review on that! xD

  • I should get around to doing a Rush review, shouldn't I?

  • yes please xDI love to watch your reviews on perfumes, it's awesome and we learn a lot about fragrances!

  • Thanks, Katie!! Once again...not a scent for me. However, it doesn't mean that I don't appreciate the 'heads up' and won't be wasting my time to ask for a sample.

Grape Soda in a Head Shop...Brilliant!

  • i <3 couture couture

  • Great reviews, the only problem is something I can't tell if you're being sarcastic which is quite difficult at times. Any Thoughts?

  • Well, I'm playful, I'm cheeky, I like to fool around, but my reviews themselves are sincere.

  • Thanks!

  • I agree with you- it literally smells like they mixed the two together! Of the 3 JC perfumes, I would stick with the original any day :)

  • Me too.

  • i make a mess, in the kitchen!!

but the food tastes and smells wonderful.

5 stars for smelling and tasting.

  • the only perfume i like is Quizas by Loewe =)

  • This woman is so cute!

  • The design is so pretty :) I love ur videos! u describe them SOOOO well :D

  • Your new haircut looks really cool :D

  • Thanks! Good to hear.

  • lol great review as always :o)

  • I love Juicy Couture...i don't like Viva La Juicy...i'm gonna have to try Couture Couture....the bottle is so pretty! :) Thanks for another great review!

  • first video to watch for you even though i subscribed couple of weeks ago... fun!

  • Thanks - and welcome aboard!

  • i thought the exact same thing about this scent, as far as how it smells like the first two juicy scents got dumped together and shelved with some pretty new packaging. oh, and am i ever a sucker for cute packaging.

mmmmmmaybe i own all three bottles. who's askin'?

katie, have you reviewed the "new" chloe fragrance yet? i would be eager to know what you thought of it., along with flora by gucci.

  • I don't think I'm going to get around to Chloe or Flora, but I'll share my thoughts on them with you.

I find that Chloe is painfully soapy - just really high-pitched and headache-inducing. It doesn't seem to have any character.

Flora heads in the direction of a peachy floral, but to my nose, there's a distinct burnt-hair smell in there that just smells...bad. I can't get past the burnt-hair in there.

  • i spent today's lunch hour perusing the fragrances at nordstrom and i gave this a sniff or two. egads.

soap! and cheap soap, at that. i needn't say more than i'm glad i did not make this purchase.

flora was eh. i didn't get burnt hair, but i got bored.

i'm so happy you responded to my comment! thanks for saving me the $115 i would have sunk into the blind purchase of some sad sud juice. i'd so much rather spend my hard-earned cash on a bottle by l'artisan.

    merci beaucoup!

  • "Sad sud juice", fer shure! But my, that heav
