@adhaelon I hade trouble with mine at first.....three volume controls and a tone.....add in three pickups....plus the neck seems a mile long.....once I got it down though, I don't ever seem to want to play any of my other guitars....unbelievable feel and tone....may explain why Jimi started playing his flying v more and more.....

It is a Gibson SG Custom. He used it alot in 1968 and 1969 after he gave his painted Flying V to Mick Box.

@BigKingBudxxShowCase After 1959, the Les Paul we know today was discontinued and not started again until the late 60s. Another guitar was made to take its place as the Les Paul, which has the shape of the common SG. Les Paul himself did not like the design for this new Les Paul guitar, so they renamed it the SG (Solid Guitar) in 1964 I think, give or take. Look it up if you don't believe me.

So anyway, Jimi is playing a Les Paul in this performance. It's a '61, I think.
