  • What size accordion is that?

  • I like just playing the left-hand side xD

  • :DD Thank You, i got a Accordion 2 days ago and im really new to this accordion stuff soo you just helped me alot

  • man your awesome those were great tips!

  • This was very helpful! Thanks for not obfuscating the trappings of this great instrument :-)

  • Great lesson, short but very helpfull

  • how about the mexican version accordion

  • Probably accordionists. They are all perfect! Sometimes people forget what it is like to be a beginner and can't simplify enough for them to understand. I think this video did a fine job. She is not technically that good but it is a good lesson none the less.

What ever it takes to get people to give it a try is the most important thing to me!

  • I don't know why there are so many dislikes on this video. It has been (by far) the most helpful and most simple way of learning the basics of what to do with each hand. I've found her videos to be far more instructive than the others.

  • How do you play the song @ 2:17

  • DISLIKE!!!!

I mean, you can not play the bass on the accordion, with 3 and 2 finger!! I think you know what I mean.. please, when you go to teach someone this instrument, FIRST you learn how is it played!!

dont say anything trying to cover your posision!! I play acordion...

  • Hi, I need help, do not like playing with two hands at once, and I find a tutorial that will teach it in Spanish! I'm from Venezuela and do not speak English so I can not understand this video. can anyone help?

  • @pumg woswwww you can write english better than most people i know

  • Does anyone know what the tune is called, the one that she plays at 2:17??

  • This is brilliant :) .. I am really trying! Arrgh but it's so hard!!!

  • Thank you so much. My 'begginers book does not really tell me this stuff :)

  • Video was VERY helpful. Thanks a million!

  • what's this song called? (02 : 15) ?

  • I see that You have learn`d yourself cause you used a wrong fingers when you play that: c, f and g

  • Thank ye for the assistance!

  • Well i just bought a accordion off of ebay for 200 bucks, and i did that so i could play the zelda melody. Nice vid tho

  • THERE ARE SO MANY FREAKIN BUTTONS!!!

HOW DO YOU KNOW WHICH ONE YOU ARE PRESSING??????????

  • @ReddCoconuts Although I am not a musician myself, I can safely say that it is not as complicated as it looks...after all, a piano has 88 keys. As for the buttons on an accordion, I imagine that you identify them by feel. All it takes is practice.

  • YAY

  • This was my very first lesson and I liked it. Thanks

  • please let me know what brand this small accordeon is. 34 keys and 96 basses, that's attractive. Nice looking instrument!

  • she blinded me with science

  • wats the music called at 2:15 ?

  • hi, do you also play the diatonique version/instrument? what is easier to learn for someone that already plays piano?

  • Thank you for the tutorial, you're a wonderful teacher. I would like to know the brand of your accordion because I can't read it from the video and I consider it perfect in size and sound. Thank you

  • Thank you so much for your sharing . I love accordion ..so that your video is great for me ...but only 2.50!!! uh..please more...more

  • Good Job babe! Congratulations for the initiative

  • Comment removed

  • great video! I'm an accordian player wannabe, and the little I play is all by ear....and you gave me sooooo much to go on! THANKS a million!!

  • thank you

  • dont get me wrong i respect you as a musician and a fellow accordionist...:) im just making a suggestion...i play accordion for 9 years and my teacher always said to me that i open and close the bellow without making the instrument sounding like its out of breath...u make it sound that way in this video...its an advice for all beginners too..im not trying to play smart annd all im just suggesting something...geat vid!! cheers

  • Non conosce la posizione delle dita ! in particolare la mano sinistra dei bassi.

  • con subtitulos en español porfavorrrrrrrr....

    subtitle in spanish pleaseeeeeeee............

  • can you play it like in the MF DOOM "Madvillan song "accordions"

  • were can u buy a acordion in south dakota some one help its important

  • @Russianrap161 amazon?

  • I own a similar instrument. I love your instructions. I am just back from my lesson..,.

It's not pretty simple at all! I have always a finger out of its note! I appreciate your video and am looking for others. thank you. Keeping practicing...

  • Thumbs up if you play accordion!!!

  • Helpful, but the only way to learn is practice...

  • So is it kinda like ragtime piano? Left hand plays accompaniment and the right hand does the melody?

  • @Suetekh27, Most piano music (not just ragtime) has the melody in the right hand and the harmony/accompaniment in the left hand.

There are times in which the hands reverse those roles in some pieces of music, but for the most part it's a general rule of thumb :)

    Hope that helps :)

  • @legofan1028 yes!

  • too hard

  • I've watched your videos on the accordian ,and I enjoy how you have structered them. I played Piano, and I bought an accordian 2 months ago. I wish I had yours enstead of a 120 bass, because I get lost with my left hand once in a while. Oh I'm 65 and my hand goes numb. but I love your easyness to the instrument. And you are very enjoyable to listen to explaining. I'm sure a bear would learn with you teaching. Thanks

  • nice sound.. ! what brand of accordeon is it? how much does one like that costs ?

    Thank you

    Dino

  • @funkyDi Accordions tend to be expensive, because they are mostly hand-made instruments.

  • Thank you very much. Respected Madam. You make it seem very simple.

    Regards,

    S.Suresh,

    Trichy

  • Anytime she touches that thing it begins to make music...

  • The trully knowledgable can make the complex seem simple. THANK YOU SO MUCH / Great lesson. In 2 minutes I learned more than hours of futzing around on my own.

  • Very clear and easy to understand, thank yoU!

  • you are a great teacher, you married...lol

  • Do You Give Free Lessons Online? I Have a Button Accordian

  • The hard thing is to get your hands to do different stuff.

  • i know

i've been trying to play for about a year now and i still fck up when i try to play with both hands :(

  • @TheGekkjevel Why not try practicing with one hand at a time, and when you are proficient, try using both hands? What you are really doing is learning to use both hemispheres of your brain simultaneously...it CAN be done.

  • @PhantomMigKiller Yea im trying, and i guess il try some more :)

  • I don't have an accordion, but I am sure that if I did, that would have shown me the way, put me on the track. Good one ! Just before I watched "expert Village". I think I would rather walk over hot coals and it would be as helpful. In 1977 I leaved a good job to get-away from a "teacher" like that !

  • va fan cullo

  • watch?v=Tli4nSO4hIA

    puya from Colombia

  • Hey! Question.

When I try to play just the right hand, there are chords playing. If I just let the air out or in, the chords still play (without any button pushing) Do you know what I'm doing?

  • Hello, i think it's time for a repair!

  • how is it broken?

  • it must be that either there is a hole in the bellows, or the mechanism inside the left hand side (I do not know what it is called) must be damaged. It needs a good, professional maintenance.

  • it´s the mechanism inside.

you should try to pusch the ventils in the right position. For this you only have to srew up the cap. Perhaps you have to push down a key and push down the adequate ventil carefully.

  • your accordion is broken

  • Thank you! You make it look so easy.

  • you suck its all about button accordions

  • haha what do you play? Notreno? polka?

  • Bravooooo ...oo

  • I play and I can't play with both hands very well. To explain I can't get different rythms each hand seperately if that makes sense...

Is there any practice I can do to improve?

  • Sure you should play separatelly and practice for a long time before you put both hands togheter.

    Ciao

  • super.....

  • also this is one of the only expert village series that ive seen that is actually helpful

  • excuse me GENIUS, an F can be called a 5th down from C, and that's exactly what she said. She is NOT labeling the chords using roman numerals nor giving the function of each chord within the harmonic progression; she is simply describing the scale degrees, which can be either 4th up or a 5th down. Calling someone a fool? what about looking at a mirror.

  • ok sheesh lay off!

  • @ODRADEK111 Well, why don't YOU post a video YOURSELF, and show us all how it's SUPPOSED to be done?

  • @davidealessio What the heck is THAT supposed to mean?!

  • @PhantomMigKiller oh please get a life. can't u see i was replying to a message that has been deleted because of too many negative votes??? is it too difficult to understand that??? and it was over an year ago!!! give me a break!

  • you SUCK :D

  • It haven't got baritones ....

  • These are cool. I want to get an accordion.

    And, she's cute!

  • The accordion I bought is missing loads of bass keys :(

  • Hello to everybody,

I would like your help with something. I've just bought an accordion (chinese made XD). There is a little wheel on the bass side facing the sky. What is it for?

    Thank you

  • Probably to adjust the belt around your bass hand. Mine is like that.

  • Thanks!

  • Thats to tighten and loosen your bass strap on your hand, so if you push it forwards, it tightens, and visa versa.

    Hope that helps!

  • Thanks

  • No problem at all, I have one on my box (See my channel).

    Jack.

  • i've just bought an accordion with 32 bass. The problem is tha there is no B in the pad.I mean it has from Eb to E...so no B...what a stupid thing!

  • Thank you! I've found an old little "Honner regina", and I play (try to) piano, your basic instructions were very helpfull !

    Greetings from Gent-Belgium_

  • looks intimidating to learn, so many buttons. looks fun though. my hats off to all the players

  • Everyone who want to learn accordion should start with BOTH HANDS. DO NOT start by only the melody one or you will only be waisting time. The right hand is very easy. The hard stuff it's to combine the correct tempo with the correct notes. The Bass tempo must NEVER change! Always keep the same rhythm! Then your Melody should be perfect enough to fit on the bass and Vice Versa. The easy way is to find someone who can tell you which basses to play on which note and practice until it comes naturaly

  • yeah, and if you have a little knowledge of music, is kinda easy to figure what would be a good melody or bass to fit each other

  • Well... at first it may not sound that bad but if you hear real players you will see that each music must have a correct bass style. My experience (small) tell me that there must be mathematical harmony in the bass hand. I mean by this that yiu have to always repeat the same number of the same bass key in the same parts of the melody. Yous should not improvise anyway or else your music will not be perfect.

  • so a perfect impro would be?

  • What kind of question is that? It all depends what you're playing! Even inventing the bass should be in harmony with the right hand or else is nothing but noise.

  • So what is the difference between music and noise then? May sound like a stupid question, but if music is ordered sound, and noise is 'un-ordered' sound, we can organise sounds to be unordered but that doesnt make it noise....

  • you make no sense because not all ordered sounds can be called music. There is no ordering rule that define music.

  • the ordering rule that defines music is intention

  • But u can order sounds in a perfect way and yet, not make music. What makes a special kind of order to feel like music and others not? What makes us decide what is or not music?

  • a mixture of things, intention and experience.... music for an aborigini can sound like a noisy mess to us, and our music the same for him, so I belive it is a mixture of intention and tradition. For example a bird singing, is it music or communication? Depends upon the intention of the bird....

  • One thing that all recognise as an ordered an harmonious soud is RYTHM. By it self it may not be considered music but it is part of it. A bird singing is not music. It maybe a plesant sound for us. But so are the waves from the sea. For a Bird it is purely comunicational... Altough they do compete by emproving the "singing" hability... Peraphs like a politician practicing the lying orator ability to impress someone else... But not music...

  • i am quite not sure.. But i learned the bass site to play with index and middle finger too. But some pro guys told me that i have to play with ring and middlefinger. The index is used for playing 7th chords for bridges. So im starting all over again.

  • hi i am new to the accordion 1 month i have masterd th bass side but trying to play a tune on piano side at the same time ..my bass hand skips beats it's crazy as i have played guitar for 20 years and cant understand how i cant keep everything going .......is this normal for a begginer

  • its normal :P i had a hard time too. But you will master it with time, its normal

  • Dont worry. It is very hard to make your brain split the attention to both hands. I am learning Concertina for 3 months now and i cant still do it naturally. The thing is that my teacher teach me the songs explaining to me wich bass i should press when i am playing a specific note of the melody. if it's 1-1, 2-1 or 3-1 on the bass you must find the right note for each bass without afecting the tempo. Its hard without anyone telling it to you. Check out my vids.

  • Even though you tend to assume much on the part of the listener, still I like your videos quite a bit because you have a talent of dispelling 'fears' that a beginning student might have. You're free & easy approach is refreshing!

You might want to consider doing a video specifically addressing how much fun it is to learn the accordion....and how truly easy it is (without getting into the actual technicalities of "How to play"). You seem to have a unique talent in this area.

    Keep it up!

  • Thanks a lot for all your videos it has beeb very helpfull to me!!

  • i wanan learn how to play one of these were can i go to school at?

  • thanks ! :)

  • Thanks for the help!!

  • you got that DAMN straight brother

  • If I wasn't SO SURE you were a lesbian, I'd say you were coming onto me.

  • she's hot

  • This video really helped me as a beginner. Thank you. Also, you have great style. Ciao.

  • I traded in my accordian for a guitar when I found out I couldn't get any chicks by playing the accordian. Best trade I ever made.

  • chaz likey accordion

  • female Michael Cera

  • I've been playing the accordian for 4 years. If you begin playing the keys and the bass (left side) at the same time then its not so hard. I started when I was 10 and I'm in an accordian band. We were made to play both at the same time and it really pays off when you have that sort of coaching.

    =] x

  • just because you said that, im gonna dip my rat in acid and see if he cures cancer.

  • Hey,nice vid! You guys should come over and check out my channel! I Do Sub For Sub And Friend for friend!

  • accordion ruuules! :D lol

those are the basics. there's alot more to the accordion. beleive me, it takes alot of practice to be able to play the right and left hand side simotaniously. O.O

been playing accordion for 2 year and still counting :]

  • Very nice Video! I was wondering how anyone could understand the system behind all those tiny left buttons - now I know!

  • It was, but then again man can't live on wheat and bread alone. The symptoms are like which the masters found to be alluding to the senses. Facist regimes hold account to the many mysteries of ancient egypt. Learning to cope with these problems will lead to a better life. Sometimes the Gza will play the accordion at high noon, when the sun goes down.

DID YOU KNOW THE GZA CAN PLAY COLD WORLD ON THE ACCORDION?

  • I want to use this instrument for a Pirate song I'm Writing!

  • Best comment EVARRRGH!

  • thank you, i have a piano accordian in my shed, it was my dads, i'm off to try a little c.f.g tune,

  • nice one

  • BAJAN :)

  • That bothers you that much? Damn you got problems son.

  • hahaha

  • good is there any tutorial

  • bay frate e frantuzoaica??

  • It is good to have an idea on how things work.

There are too many buttons and keys to worry about.

I'll just enjoy listening to the music.

  • I spent so many hours looking in a mirror for my chord placement for awhile until I got the feel for my left hand

  • I never really understood what the buttons were for, but now it all makes sense. Are they laid out in relation to the Music Hex Pattern or is it something else entirely?

  • How much do accordions cost? I don't think there are accordions here in the Philippines though. Hehe. I wanna learn to play one.

  • She's beautiful

  • that was an impressive 3 minute lesson

  • Thanks for teaching me how to squeeze my box

  • niceeee burn

  • Hi,
