do you use a thumbs forward grip? If so have you had problems with the slide not locking back to to interference with the slide release caused by the position of your thumbs on your grip? I have seen others have problems like that. What are your thoughts?
@Raptyr I have never accidentally locked the slide back with my thumbs forward technique and I shoot my Glock alot and a fair share of Sigs and never had it happen. Maybe my thumbs are just the right size???
I bought one of these about 2 months ago. Fantastic pistol. Amazing feel, great follow-up shots, absolutely no malfunctions. Simply the best 9mm I can recommend. I definitely recommend the "Elite" Sigs...the SRT trigger and night sights are worth the extra money. Got mine for $919.00 in Cary, NC.
@magnetmixer Just practicing some basic defensive shooting techniques. Scanning for additional threats is always a good idea especially when most shooters get tunnel vision after a deadly encounter. Its taught in every police academy but not everyone practices it enough. I dont do it every time I shoot. I just did it this day as practice.
I love my p226 elite stainless. It is very accurate, and cycles very well. I have shot dirt through it and expensive hollow points. It will fire any of them. The 9mm allows for low recoil and easy return to the target. I also have to rave about sig's night sights. In all I love my sig.
this weapon never can be shot if you not want it. you must pull the trigger over the border and then inside is happening some but my english is to garbige only when you pull the trigger the bullet can be shot theres no way can happen a excident with that gun!
@USMC6112 The plate carrier is made by Condor. I chose it because its less bulky than the previous vest I had made by VooDoo Tactical. It cant carry soft kevlar but I only wanted the hard plates anyway. The mag pouches are also from Condor.
I own a Sig p. 226 elite, stainless steel. Love the way it shoots--low recoil and accurate. Very dependable. But recently bought 2 CZ 75 9 mils from 1992--used by Czech police, all steel. Recoil is just as low--20% more accurate. I believe the CZ in-the-frame slide is a superior design; increases accuracy and reduces recoil. Love both guns, but I think the CZ is better....better feel in the hand too.
@mixflip The two I have from 1992 shoot better and more accurately than my p226 Stainless Elite....even my CZ 75 Compact bought this past year shoots as well as the p226. These are awesome pistols....don't get me wrong. The Sig is a great pistol. But I think the CZ 75 design is just flat out superior--the most used service 9 mm in the world--and I understand why.
Just got a chance to shoot my Sig p226 Elite and my impression was as yours, awesome! I found the Tac Ops grips for it on Top Gun Supply and the 20 round mec-gar mags, and it's even better. No regrets. Great video!
@campcarroll69 I freakin love this gun. If I ever buy a Sig it will be this exact gun. I have shot alot of guns in my life and I have to admit this is by far one of my all time favorites. Too bad its so dang expensive. I guess you have to pay for that level of awesomeness!
@mixflip I have the Sig P226 Tactical Operations chambered in 9mm. came with 4, 20 round magazines. has an extended grip on it. tritium rear sights and a truglo front sight. its a nice combat handgun. it's nice having 21 rounds of 9mm.
Very nice video. I picked up my Sig P226 Elite a few months ago. I did exchange the 40 s&w barrel for the .357sig. I love it. I have the new aluminum grips and the adjustable sights. I prefer the combat sights. I had to raise the rear sights a bit, but I am good to go now. Great video...keep them coming.
I just picked up a P226 9mm with Siglites, and it came with the SRT, very smooth, not my first P226 but my first US made one, it is sweet, the Sig is the most accurate outta the box handgun I have ever shot
Just sold my Glock 17 RTF2 yesterday... I'm about to pick me up one of these brand new for 900 shipped and I will have absolutely no regrets doing so! I loooove this video series!
I have the Sig P226 Platinum Elite. Cost me $1,100. Base P226s are around $700, but these 'Elite' model have a bunch of pricey add-ons that bring up the price (Sig night sights = $120. SRT=$100, aluminum grips=$180). Plus, there's the beavertail and finish. Nothing wrong with base P226 models. They shoot great (I started w/ a base model). The features in the the Elite models just make them nicer to shoot. Love my Sig!
@TacticalSoleSurvivor I checked gunbroker and gunsAmerica and they have various models like this for about $1000 and up. I guess either demand drove up the price or these have options that drove up the price over other Sig P229's?
You will probably regret not getting the 226 later. Its just sexier :) You could probably find a like-new used one for 650-700 if you look on classifieds/online
@labartic Well i was just asking that because My step father owns a 2022, and ive shot it quite a bit, and its an amazing handgun. It resembles the 226 greatly, but i have only held a 226 and it felt the same. So im kind of wondering if the shooting is what makes it all the more better. Thank-you for the reply man!
@TapRackBoom I guess it all depends on your income level and intended use? Everything is relative. $900 may not be alot of money to one guy while to a guy like me...thats a little more than I can afford right now. I always say just buy what makes you happy and what you can afford and dont worry about impressing anyone else. For the record...I LOVE this Sig!! I'd buy it now that I have shot it. Is it worth it? To me yes but to someone else? Maybe not?
@mixflip I guess ill have to shoot it before i can make a final opinion on the subject, i was just wondering if there was something special about the 226, im guessing better machining and QC?
@TapRackBoom I am not sure how much difference there is between the 2022 and the 226 to be honest. I have heard some negatives on the forums about the American built Sigs as far as QC and customer service but thats just what I have read and not experienced myself. I would hope that the 2022 is a still good but just lacks expensive upgrades like the SRT trigger & E2 grips?
@mixflip Im not sure on the names of the upgrades, but it has interchangable grips, a different take down style(much like an HK USP). Its a great little pistol, we have about 400 rounds through it and not a single problem! I wish the plastic grips were of a higher standard though, but thats what the cost gets you i guess
Agree.... Love mine.... And YES.....9 DOES PROTECT!

I'm jealous of all your guns. That Sig looks so sexy and shoots like a natural extension of the hand. Personally, I like the P30L better.
