I have argued religion many times. By no means do I say that I know everything but I have certainly learnt a fair bit ever since I started questioning religion. If you think they have a compelling argument or for any other reason then by all means I would be happy to discuss religion with them.

I cant speak for every Christians motivation but I can say for myself that a fear of Hell isn't what drives me. Its the love and the grace of a God who sacrificed everything for a pple (his children) who had turned their backs on him. After encountering this I just cant turn away from him...I don't want to turn away. I know that you probably think i have a mental illness or imagined it all but just as your conscience tells you when something is right or wrong I know in my heart this is right.

Everything taught by Jesus and Paul was from the law and prophets - there was no "New Testament". When we correctly assume the context of their 1st century theology, the NT takes on a radically different meaning than what our pastors teach. See Matt 5:17, Jn 14:15, Jn 15:10, 1Jn 2:3 (sin= violating the law). The church is under a strong delusion as it is in it's final falling away. YHWH is calling people back to His unchanging ways and to know and worship the REAL Jesus.
Sorry, that was 1 Jn 3:4 which defines sin. God never changed His word or standards of righteousness and sin - it is mankind (by the agency of Satan) who twists God's perfect instructions for us. Why would YHWH declare something righteous and then tell us to ignore his declarations? God is not a liar.
Malachi 3:6, Num 23:19. See what the "New Convenant" is Jer 31:31. Torah was and still is God's perfect plan for those who love Jesus.

As I stated elsewhere in this post, God provided evidence all over the place, but people refuse to see it for what it is. Science has uncovered so much that can only be explained by an intellegent designer that it takes more faith to NOT believe. The information in DNA is just one example evidence of a designer. Jesus' life on earth is another. He died and ROSE again.. the evidence is there. However, those who don't want to be held accountable for their sins refuse to see it for what it is.

I can only hope that one day the ignorance of religions will finally be gone, and therefore, hopefully, no more religions.

You can be assured that "ignorance of religions" will someday be gone. Sooner than you may think. One day, Jesus will return to earth (and the signs we are provided in the Bible indicate this may be imminent!)... no one will have an excuse any longer. It will be obvious that God IS.
Atheists have their head in the sand like the osterich... if you don't see the evidence, you don't have to do anything about it.
God loves even you... and has great things He wants to do for and with you...

If Jesus returns to Earth I will recognize God as our creator, and as being real.
However, based on the things I have read of him in the Bible, I still would refuse to worship him for he is a prick egomaniac.
Ps.. Our head is in the sand, and we're the ones not looking at the evidence? There is absolutely 0 evidence for God as being our creator. If you say the Bible is evidence, that's bullshit. It's full of historical errors, clearly showing it's fiction. Show me evidence, and I'll reconsider

im new at christianity and right now, i dont realy know much but there is a part of being a begginer, and that is doubt. I doubt if God does exists and the only thing that keeps me going is FAITH. and if you do not have faith then its useless (i got mines by praying and asking for help).

doesnt being an athiest a bad thing? i think it'll take away my hope that someday life will get better. some ppl go to christ for help. whats so wrong about christianity? it makes ppl nicer and it wouldnt hurt to try...unless youre angry or something

hey um just so you know. christianity is not about how much you can not-sin, its not about "omg! you should repent!", its not about how much you know about the bible. its about your relationship with God and getting to know him is more than worth it because God loves you and he never gives up on you like other people but its people that gives up on him. he shows so much mercy and..i realy hope you change to being a son of christ :)

@MisleadGuidance i dont know what the prosperity gospel or the catholic church does but the people that practice those religions and if their practices contradicts the Bible, then its wrong. people's false practices dont determine if theres a God or not especialy because people can be misleaded into all kinds of things. but yeah the Bible is like the word of God and if you can prove the Bible wrong, then christianity is pretty much done for

okay..why do you advise me to "get out while i still can"? do you have a problem w/ christianity? christians are humans too its not like they go around trying to hurt your feelings or anything. whatever history you have with it, i suggest you realy try it first without bias then you can pick. if there happens to be no heaven or hell then w/ever ppl still enjoy christianity and its other benefits.

now lets be real here, how many people in the world, including every christian, actually has enough faith to move those mountains.
The problem is they don't believe they can because they have this doubt in their mind, no matter how small.
That is why one can usually not move the andes mountains on command. They don't believe they can.

Yeah, it's completely their own fault. Like all those parents whose children die of curable diseases while they pray for healing; they have enough faith to keep their own child out of medical care, but that's not enough for a miracle cure. Perhaps they should grab a knife and attempt to sacrifice the child to god. I mean, it worked for Isaac, didn't it? ô.o
Or does god only safe the lifes of children whose death he ordered?

Jesus has been dead for over 2000 years and there's only very little historical record of his life and philosophy.
So, frankly: Nobody living today knows Jesus!
There's just some people who *believe* they know something, and think that their belief entitles them to bother others with their schizophrenic mindset.

There is more than a little historical evidence - You don't have to look that far to find it either. The deep integration of Christianity with western society is just a start.
I don't have words that can convince you that Jesus is alive but the fact that you would place a message to this video I think shows that you have some interest or some sense that perhaps there might be some truth to him.
If you just search for answers I can promise you will find the truth for yourself just as I did...

Also can I ask why you think all Christians "bother" people...did you have a friend that bothered you about it?

If you need an invisible friend to give your life meaning, that's evidence of incapacity. You don't self-suffice.
Atheists however see their life, their relationships with other people, their every day doings, the knowledge they gather, the little happy moments they give and receive, as sense of life.
Theists are guilty of hybris. They believe that there 'has to be a devine force to make life meaningful'.
That's just poor, man. The world is wonderful in and of itself.

The thing is that I never needed an "invisible friend" to get through life. I did it for 22 years alright and i could of kept going....that's the easy part...but to actually live for a purpose that's the challenge because then your life has meaning and responsibility, your no longer, living just for yourself and essentially 'wasting time' because what can you say your life amounts to in the end?

I learn and share my knowledge, I write, draw and sing, I do what's neccessary to get the job that I enjoy and that's good for society, I help others whenever I can, I'm there for my friends, I'm nice to my cat, I love my SO...
Why on earth should anyone need a god for this? To get their ass up? Because they need fear of hell to stay motivated? I don't get it.

I cant speak for every Christians motivation but I can say for myself that a fear of Hell isn't what drives me. Its the love and the grace of a God who sacrificed everything for a pple (his children) who had turned their backs on him. After encountering this I just cant turn away from him...I don't want to turn away. I know that you probably think i have a mental illness or imagined it all but just as your conscience tells you when something is right or wrong I know in my heart this is right.

The amazing thing is (which I believe stands as proof of Gods existence) that so much of what the bible teaches lines up with our conscience. Just as you are nice to your cat, your friends and want to help those in trouble the bible teaches that all these things are what brings about joy in your life. It teaches what is wrong such as murder and lieing,,,all things that our conscience tells us aswell so doesn't it make sense that God is the creator of both? (Its a big book to make up other wise)

The biblical morality perfectly lines up with the prejudice and fear that was dominant in the time of it being written.
There's nothing special about it; not one single verse stands out in any way from other myths and other social wisdom that came before and after it.Maybe it is a bit outstanding when it comes to god's body count. But that's nothing to brag about.

That doesn't change what's in the Bible, and the Bible - even the NT - endorses things that are today regarded as highly immoral - at least in the more enlightened parts of the world.
So Biblical morality can in no way be used to prove or even indicate the existence of a supernatural being that took part in creating these writings. Unless it's a pretty immoral supernatural being, that is.

Also the bible has a lot of horrible events within it. If you think Gay people are an abomination, you're a bad person. If you think woman who commit adultery should be stoned to death, you're a bad person. If you think disobedient children should be killed, you're a bad person.

The church (those who profess Christ) are failing. It is the mystery of lawlessness Jesus and Paul warned of. Does your pastor teach you to ignore God's laws and commandments (the Jewish scriptures)? Jesus was a Torah observant Jew - do you walk as he walked? See 1 John 2:2-7. Dear believer, Repent in Jesus and begin obeying God's commandments.

It comes across as if your claiming I (or at least the church) don't believe in Gods laws or commandments. I wanted to ask if you could clarify because I also had a look at the main Torah site that you had a connection with & it caught my interest in terms of perspective. Everything taught by Jesus and Paul was from the law and prophets - there was no "New Testament". When we correctly assume the context of their 1st century theology, the NT takes on a radically different meaning than what our pastors teach. See Matt 5:17, Jn 14:15, Jn 15:10, 1Jn 2:3 (sin= violating the law). The church is under a strong delusion as it is in it's final falling away. YHWH is calling people back to His unchanging ways and to know and worship the REAL Jesus.

Sorry, that was 1 Jn 3:4 which defines sin. God never changed His word or standards of righteousness and sin - it is mankind (by the agency of Satan) who twists God's perfect instructions for us. Why would YHWH declare something righteous and then tell us to ignore his declarations? God is not a liar.
Malachi 3:6, Num 23:19. See what the "New Convenant" is Jer 31:31. Torah was and still is God's perfect plan for those who love Jesus.
