Great plane, I miss it. LAX to JFK took 6 hours on regular flights, 747 etc., but from JFK to Heathrow...just 3 . Brilliant. Could have done it much faster if the countries involved would have allowed it.Noise abatement nonsense and such killed the business.
Did you know how to use a Camera back then... could barely see anything on take-off... should have zoomed back a bit... other than that great video! I would love to have flown on that beautiful Aircraft... what an experience! The thrust on take-off must be an amazing experience! You lucky sod!
@FilK79 That rought landing was actuallya crosswind landing being performed why 3/4 of the way on the ground. Being close to the Hudson River brings in a lot of winds.
The only logical explananation for your comment is simple jealousy. There were very few things that this country could be truly proud of, and Concorde was one of them. You could almost as much pleasure watching Concorde as you could flying in it. I'm not a millionaire, by any stretch of the imagination, but I managed to fly in it just once and never regretted spending the money for one second.
concorde in 1989 was fabulous - my flight heathrow to JFK seated in 10A gave me a better view than being positioned in the rear cabin known as * siberia * due to the lack of view from the porthole windows !
@GoingToBeAPilot1 I worked my butt off for years and saved up the airmiles over time. I can't remember the exact amount, but it was the same as a first class flight. I recommend the BA american express card as you get companion tickets. This is how I got my wife a free ticket as well.
@neil9071 yup was it worth it? idk to me it was. but not on a daily basis . you can have breakfast in ny, and luch in london. or vice versa. i hope they bring some form of this back Eh?
@FilK79 The Concorde had a higher landing speed than most aircraft and thus had a harsher landing.

WHAT A ACCELERATION!
2609yannick 4 days ago
You could have flown half the price for en extra 4 hours and instead perhaps fed a starving family for three years in Afrika. Rich people stink!
joepatroni77 5 days ago
@joepatroni77 What, and deprive all those who designed the plane, built them, maintain them, the crews etc. of a living? A lttle jeolusy perhaps?

@1stREMESquaddie Ahh, Good point. Rich people still stink though. And no, I am not jeolous. They can live in their rich misery.

at the end of the flight the attendant says "and we hope to see you again before the end of our service in October" sad :(

Wow, the landing was kind of rough, was it usual to be that way on Concorde´s?
FilK79 2 weeks ago
@FilK79 Yes, it did seem rough I must admit. Since I only went on it once I can't answer your question.
