  • knife party - fire hive! boss!

  • Fuck making it... JUST GIVE ME THE PATCH!!

  • Noticed this video had a perfect 90:0 like:dislike ratio

    So i disliked it

    Like a boss

  • you sir... are a boss! thanks a heap, i use cakewalk sonar 8.5 and all of their built in wavetables are pretty rubbish, but yeah, cheers for the tutorial mate.

  • @overthetop7255 thank you for watching glad you liked it

  • seriously i did to the same fuking things twice to have the same fucking dick sound.......just a waste of time......but still thanks for the tutorial

  • @rickychardzz hmmmm i'm not sure why that is. What version of massive are you using, I know that the older versions sound slightly different but apart from that i'm not sure why you can't reproduce the sound.

  • Why does mine sounds totally different and I did everything correct?

  • You do realize when you said "now we just give it some parabolic shaper, yeah that's sounding more like it". You never even turned on the insert for the parabolic shaper lol

  • @imthebestyour2nd oh well i'm sure i'll live.

  • @craigwilliamsmusic AHHAH i do that stuff all the time hahaha!

  • Hey, when I put the notes in the piano roll in FL studio 10 it doesn't get the rising affect that it does in massive, can anyone tell me why?

    D:

  • great video@ thank you! Whats the best way you've found to automate changing the Pitch? When I play lower keys it doesn't sound as good. When you adjust how much the envelope affects the filter frequency it seems to change the pitch a lot nicer but though I've tried playing with it I'm not sure if there's a way to automate or adjust the amounts the envelopes are affecting the filter frequency?

  • @ptubeyall what version of massive are you running

  • @craigwilliamsmusic it's 1.15 I

  • @ptubeyall mine is 1.3 it might have something to do with older versions try updating it and give it another go.

  • @XKDUBSTEP Dontcha mean parametric eq 2 ;)

  • If you're on FL Studio, use a parabollic EQ 2 instead of the logic equaliser. :)

  • but i dont like using logic :( lol

  • @beatsbyevo hahahahaha the sound pretty much comes from massive you can do it in any DAW

  • you didnt activate the bandpass filter =) just saying

  • @H3xTOxTHExZ yep thanks fof the heads up about 100000 people have told me that so far hahahahhhaa there is no hiding on youtube

  • @craigwilliamsmusic yeah i would have figured some people already told you :p

just trying the help it was not meant as insult or anything you now

  • @H3xTOxTHExZ it's all good thanks for the input :)

  • really great tutorial! i was always wondering how skrillex made that sound

  • @Tr0ll321 thanks for watching, I think the sound is pretty close to the mark.

  • @craigwilliamsmusic I'd say dead on bud. good job

  • do you need the other plug ins?

  • @XxXDevilRejectsXxX not really you can hear in the video that the sound is pretty much all made in Massive I just add the additional plug-ins to boost the overall sound and make it a little thicker.

  • my version of massive doesn't have a white border around the waveform, and whenever i change any of the attack, delay, and sustain settings it doesn't effect the sound at all. why is this?

  • @michaelgorczyca is it the updated version? Did you attach the envelope to the right section?

  • What program is that

  • @ashtonsamuel The program is Logic and the Synth is NI Massive

  • @ashtonsamuel i think its logic pro 9

  • @skrillkill101 you would be correct

  • Good tutorial but anyone know why my filter two isnt affecting the sound at all?

  • @surfthecentre check the volume of the filter (to the right of the filter) also check the mix slider just to the right of the two filters.

  • That sound is amazing! and the tutorial was so easy to follow, thank you! :)

  • awesome tutorial! Is there a way to do this in the ES2 instead of massive?

  • swag im gonna kick this track's ass now thanks this is all i needed

  • Good pace of delivery and useful explanations but best of all it is an awesome sound!

  • @ahutber thank you for watching glad you liked it.

  • I used the same technique for re-creating this sound with massive!

Came up with a few of them in my style.

  • @Onemanpwnage nice thats what I like to hear using the techniques to make your own sound!!!!!

  • I followed this EXACTLY and my sound sounds NOTHING like yours. Help please!

  • @BassChanter at what stage does your sound differ from mine in the tutorial?

  • @craigwilliamsmusic I think when you started adding the envelopes. Because my sound sounds more like a drive sound than the thick instant screech sound you have. But i managed to get something a BIT similar to yours.

  • rly nice tutorial bro !

got a question, for what is this "camelphat" exactly? And, is there anything similar to this in Ableton?

    thnx, and big up !

  • @TheSubNoise It's a all in one distortion, compressor, filter with some added bit's. I'm sure that you could do the same thing in Ableton, if there are any Ableton users out there that would like to help on this feel free to post.

  • @TheSubNoise cheap Ableton way would be Amp +Saturator+Overdrive included plug and autofilter+EQ8+COmpressor+Multi Band for frequency design

  • @linkward thanks =)

  • @linkward This is what I love to see people helping other people in the production community

  • Omg so awsome sound of it (L)

  • how to use the keyboard to control? cannot figure out D:

  • @backw4rdsmarath0n I don't quiet understand what you mean, are you talking about pushing the caps lock to allow you to use your keyboard to control the synth?

  • @craigwilliamsmusic yes! thanks!

  • @backw4rdsmarath0n Glad I could help :D

  • and use math 3!

  • i found out what you got to do... add envlope filter 1 to the scream :)

  • yeah you did something realy diffrent.. i folowed it step b step and it sounds totaly diffrent.

  • Great tutorial man... do you have the default sound preset?

I made everything has you said and it sounds quite different...

I hope you can help me... Thanks and keep going with good tutorials...

  • @mcatsoc just go select new sound and you should be good to go.

  • Sweet Tutorial. Just a couple of things I noticed. If you put the P Shaper in slot 2, it does not affect the sound. I noticed this is your tute and while working along it. Also I dont think I hear the bandpass filter making any difference.

  • @portumadre thanks for watching. Another viewer picked up on the filter that was my mistake. As for the P shaper I'll have another look. I thought i might have changed the routing of the FX but we live and learn

  • @craigwilliamsmusic no worries. i'm very novice at massive and your tute was friggin brilliant and help me a lot. I think maybe that mix slider to the right of the filters affects which insert the audio gets fed to

  • hahaha thats awesome man! :D great tutorial.

I noticed that if you record that synth, and reverse it, its exactly like one of the synths in First of the Year by Skrillex :D NAICE!

  • @Magnifikate thanks for sharing

  • @craigwilliamsmusic no fuckn worries brah eshays lad brah.

I dont like lads, thought i'd share that also with you.

  • this is fucking dirty

  • @HighDosesnSubKiller hahahahhaha glad you like it

  • Great tutorial mate, been looking for this sound for ages!!!

  • @mortimustroy your welcome, glad to help

  • I followed this step by step and sounds nothing like it..

  • @dasoldier02 at what point did it not sound the same. I played the sound at different points of the tutorial did it sound the same then or was it nothing like my sound the whole way through

  • @dasoldier02 what about @5:50 are you asking about the macro????

  • wait wut is the program?

  • @h2ociscokid the program is Logic by apple

  • Unfortunately, the way you have set up Filter 2 doesn't affect the sound - its volume is still down and the filter mixer is set to Filter 1, so the signal doesn't pass Filter 2. But, as we can hear, it's not necessary - very nice tutorial. Thanks!

  • @sonidiom ahhhh we all make mistakes hahahahahaha thanks for pointing it out :)

  • @sonidiom

thats exactly what i was thinking, i was like hmmm dont think ur using filter 2 there buddy....

  • Only massive tutorial for these kind of sounds that actually sounds good. nice one craig

  • I've made something similar to this. But I like this version a lot too. Think you could put up a patch download craig?

  • dont suppose you could put the patch up for download? , i cant get it exactly how you have? :)
