  • dali lama sucks

    steven harper sucks

    canada government sucks

jack layton is ok he's still not doing a good enough job.

    the green party are liars

  • Dalai Lama...

Hitler, Pol Pot had been waiting for you in hell

  • Dalai Lama just teen ager during those times. He wasn't old enough to run the country at the time. Tibet was ruled by higher officials during those time who might have mistreated the poors, so why blame Dalai Lama. besides, no countries were perfect during those times.

China still have modern day slaves, child labor, prison labors.

Don't get so excited when you get cheap stuffs from Walmart and Kmart. Those were made by slaves, child labors, prison labors.

  • @czrsilp Try to lean some history from textbooks and grow up.

was not old enough ? what if he was old enough, he sure would mistreated the poors.

  • Tibet was a giant slavery system before 1950s.

Majority of people were slaves and they have no access to education, Tibetan culture and religion.

After the slavery system was abolished in 1950s, an education system was setup and morjority of Tibetans are able to read and write in Tibetan language for the 1st time in the history.

Some followers of Dalai Lama even admit most of Dala Lama's followers today can not read and write in Tibetan.

Western media will not discuss this topic.

  • Tibet certainly was not a peaceful place.

    some books:

"In the Forbidden land; an account of a journey into Tibet, capture by the Tibetan lamas and soldiers, imprisonment, torture and ultimate release brought about by Dr. Wilson and the political peshkar, Karak Sing-Pal"

By Arnold Henry Savage Landor (1899)

"Beyond the High himalayas" by Douglas William O. (1952)

Even though this book is written in 52; it does give a good explanation of the horrendous conditions of commoners in Tibet.

  • you guys know nothing about Tibert. Go to study Tibert history of the past 600 years ago. American people never respect the human right of the native American indian. Pack up and go back to Europe if you want to so-called 'free-Tibert'. American belongs to the native, your guys ancestors killed millions of the native, stealed this land. Shame on you to talk about 'freedom and human right' when you even do not respect the native american's human right. Go ask the native if they want independancy?

  • Tibet, Tibot, Tubot and Tibert all of them are okay from historically point of view.

  • Yea, maybe the Chinese gene pool lack the "think for yourself gene"... NOO please don't make this simple argument so it fits into your belief system. China may lack freedom of speech, but the Chinese people are not idiots!!

  • oh and btw, mrrlwang posting from the United States. Even if someone is exposed to Chinese propaganda (and I do admit there is such a thing), there are always other sources where people can obtain information. One thing that sets humans apart is our ability to think for ourselves despite what information we are fed - no matter what race or nationality an individual may be.

  • Name is just name. Somebody use this as an argument to prove they are right. If you really want to know the truth and prove you are right, go to Tibet, live there for a while that is far from lama, close to the normal people for at least 3 years.

  • We can only ask the native if you allow the media and UN to enter tibet and let the local Tibetan natives freely be interviewed by the press and foreign bodies without having to fear persecution ! So; lets open the gates of Shangrila and let truth prevail !!

  • I am already convinced there is no Shangrila... It is sad.

  • Like always, trying find excuse for your country's crime. Nobody was perfect in the past. Now people have started to realize their mistakes. Therefore, they have begun to respect human right. If China continue to torture people just because other contries did in the past, then it means China is mentally still living in 1930, or 40s. Just like other countries, China can still leave behind dark side of past and move on to become a not just rich but also happy China by respecting humanrights.

  • you have a good point.

but when you say "China continue to torture people", where is the evidence. China have make 1 billion people from poverlty to rich, from hungary every day to reasonable life standard, did you see that ?

  • No, good is good, bad is bad, they can't justify each other. But dalai's own political fight should not be packaged as a fight PURELY for "culture" and "religion".

  • I think Tenzinmd has a pt. Abolishing the feudal theocracy, but only replacing it with one better-than-before-but-worse-than-modern-standard system is still not good for the people. Still many Tibetans are unemployed and poor(I got that from Western media and I hope that is not propaganda).

  • Of course you have all the reason, the Chinese government believes that with all of that, can buy the Tibetan people as it did Mao with the rest of China.

And I think that the religious needs and espirutuales are those created by individuals in this world.

But in the end I am not trying to make you change your mind, I just want to express my beliefs on everything they see this channel

  • With Dalai Lama's slavery system abolished in 1950s. An education system was introduced in Tibet. Tibetans, for the 1st time in the history, are able to read and write in Tibetan language.

A follower of Dalai Lama even admit that most of Dalai Lama's followers are not able to read or write in Tibetan language.

Tibetan songs in Tibetan language are very popular in other parts of China.

Media in the west try NOT to discuss this topic and keep brain washing the public with cold war values.

  • China is a country of 56 nationalities. The Tibetan got freedom since the government abolished the slavery society of Dalai Lama.

Dalai Lama was born as a nobleman of slavery society. He is actually a political loser, a liar, a terrorist! He wants to bring Tibetan back to the terrible slavery fate!

  • Don't try to fool people. Everybody knows Dalai Lama was born in poor family. He wasn't old enough to rule the country, how can he own slaves and punish slaves. Tibet was ruled by higher officials at that time.

China still has modern day slaves, child labors and prison labors.

China still kills its own citizens to sell their organs to rich people around world.

I am not joking. You can type "organ harvest in china" on youtube search box. It is not black market. It is ran by gov.

  • it is not about Dalai Lama himself own /punish slaves or not, it is about the Lama/slavery political system that own and punish slave. If this is no Dalai Lama, there will be somebody else. He is luck because he was too young to own punish slaves at that time, he would after he is old enough.

You go ask you Hawaii people, if they want to be freed from American, what you will say? American ruined all Iranq peoples life simply because of one person's fault? American is great?

  • @tdonyoe:

The pre-1959 tibet situation is well documented by germans and brithish, without anti-communism sentiment of course. This man,

Michael Parenti, is a well known political scientist, historian, media critic from USA. I suggest that you do your own research, instead of voluntarily letting the hypno-toad on the BBC/CNN channel get you.

  • The interviewee in the video is a famous scholar Michael Parenti, who is an internationally known award-winning author and lecturer from USA.

Search google "Friendly Feudalism: The Tibet Myth" you can find his final updated article.

  • If we Americans don't want to go back to Europe/Asia/Mideast/Africa/South Am, then let the Chinese have what they still have. If it is good for me, then it is good for you, just like what the Lord or Buddha or Allah or God says. Let's mind our subprime and Iraq shit and get through the hard times and enjoy our freedom of everything that an ordinary Chinese does not have, yet. Let Dalai Lama plays his own games. If he really has Buddha on his side, he will get what he wanted. He is no Gandhi.

  • Oh sure, Dalai Lama is your leader and he must represents your interests in going back to slavery system. Get real man, that age is over! No one, even CIA would be able to help you. So stop dreaming!

  • this guy is telling truth man

  • this guy is telling great truth man
