English is my first language...excuse me...growing up in the states is not an excuse for him not to know how to speak his parents tongue...it will be an excuse if his parents are not Filipinos... I have several students growing up here in the states but I am proud of them because they speak their parent's language and the english language...well, it's all about being proud of being a Filipino...and being able to speak one of the Filipino languages is one of them..
