  • just bought both and I'm loving them! I truly feel that if you are a die hard make up fan that both are great to have. it is much fun to play and mix and match with both sets. if you find you like one more than the other then just get the one you like, if you have a favorite then you dont need both because there are so similar. LOVE YOUR REVIEW!

  • @peepinmypocketxo i know you were asking her but I personally like Naked2 better. It depend what kind of shades you like. If you prefer goldens/warm tones then Naked1 if you're more of a taupe/cool tone person then Naked2 Naked2 has silvers and some taupys but Naked1 has more golden.shimmerys. I know she already has this whole review on it but i hoped i helped.<3=) xoxo

  • i don't have naked 1 or 2,, if i were to get one which one do you think is best?

  • @peepinmypocketxo i hope christine answers this because am in the same situation!

  • This is now available @ sephora, its been there for about a week now and it is in stock@ $50

  • when you swatch, do you apply with your fingers or a brush?

  • I agree, I love Chopper, YDK & Pistol, gorgeous colors!!

  • Great review and comparison. Thank you! It really helped.

  • Just bought one online at sephora!

  • Chopper and YDK are so gorgeous ....

  • How much are they?

  • Thanks so much for making this!

  • Sephora in store will have it 1/20/11 online 1/27/11

  • do you know when this will be available at sephora/ulta?

  • hahahaha "obese palette" too funny

  • I disagree half baked is the only one i like better then all of them. I love half baked is in both.having a deeper skin colors this color works best.

  • Yea... I have the naked palette, I'll probably end up picking up naked 2.

  • If I don't have both palettes, which one should I buy?

  • Love it

  • As frustrated as I am as everyone else with the lack of variety, mattes, and cool shades... I still think I'm going to buy this. Ugh, makeup addiction, how you vex me... Also, as stated in the video, I like 3 colors in here that aren't in Naked 1 so at least it will be worth it to buy the full palette instead of the 3 singles alone.

  • If I don't have either Naked 1 and Naked 2 palette, which one I should bought?

  • @LoveToBJuicy "which one I should BUY..." :)

  • I think people should have really waited for your review, I think some people just snatched it up before doing their homework because of the hype.

  • yea, urban decay should've made naked2 a cooler, MOSTLY matte palette

  • Just wanna say a big thank you Christine for all your hard work, for actually listening to your viewers/readers, and for being unbiased in your reviews. I always check Temptalia before making a beauty purchase. I bought the first UD Naked palette because of your positive review, and now I will not be purchasing the second because your swatches have showed me it's way too similar to Naked1! I appreciate it. :)

  • Thanks for this! I got the first Naked palette for me and my mom, and after I saw the Naked 2 palette, I was regretting getting the first one for my mom as 2 looked more her style! But this reassures me. Thanks and keep up the great work :)

  • Totally agree. Dissapointed! Its obvious they shiuldve made a cooler matte pallette im wondering why wouldnt they?? Its a no brainer!!!

  • Sucks that they put half baked in AGAIN!

  • Very thorough video with helpful info. I signed up for the naked2 waiting list but I don't need it now as I have the 1st one and I want a cool matte palette. I'm subscribing to your channel now.

  • loved this VDo

  • Thank you so much for that review. After watching this, you made decision easy.

  • Well, said!...in reference to your comment about half baked being in both naked palettes. I'm sure they could've come up another shade to stick in the palette. it's a pretty shade but it's not exactly unique.

  • i want this soo bad until i saw this review..

kandee johnson, frmheadtotoe, makeupdivaqueen, roseanntangrs said they love this so much. thanks for this very true, unbiased review!

  • I can't decide! I don't own either :0

  • urban decay just can't keep its clothes on!

  • Ok lol retraction ... Only blackout is in the anniversary palette.. But still ........ U get my point right Christine ? Lol

  • I feel like I probably won't be buying anymore ud palettes... Unless there's some wow bam bang one that comes out! I feel like they repeat way more than Mac .. They tell us shades are exclusive and then the next palette has them. I feel like the shades or most of them that are different from naked 1 I have from the anniversary palette and chopper lol I've been had that so.. ....... Ya! Ud u have basically lost me :0/ but of course thank u Christine! U are always awesome'

  • @yreid21 Definitely this fall/holiday, it felt like such and such "exclusive" shade was only exclusive for about 5 minutes, which really ISN'T exclusive. Don't mind if it's from a palette a year ago and they're "bringing it back."

  • wow. i remember when the original naked palette first came out...supposedly it was to be a limited edition palette.

  • You are THE make-up expert. You are the most thorough, honest, and you really know what you are talking about!

  • I love your videos they are so informative and all of my questions are answered by the end of each video! I dont have any eyeshadows so im definately getting this one! Thank you!

  • From this I prefer the first palette. Since I have naked, I won't be buying naked 2, as it's not different enough to be worth it for me, as I am a poor student.

  • I have the first Naked Palette but I'm buying this one too. Only because I get a lot of money as gifts this time of year though ^-^

This video was super-informative. Thanks so much for not being biased!!

  • Great video, I'm glad you swatch the two palettes side by side, it was very helpful and exactly what I was hoping someone would do. Thank you!!!

  • Though many gurus are introducing this palette at the same time, I think you did the best job. Very informative! I like your comparison between the two palettes Naked 1 and 2 because you put similar colors next to each other so it's easier for us to compare. You even go an extra mile in mixing some colors in Naked 1 to create a new color that looks very much similar to the one in Naked 2. I do appreciate your effort!

  • @Silverstar257 Thank you! Yes, I don't think the similarity (or at least the true extent) is revealed unless the shades that are similar are swatched side by side, rather than swatched in order - just because it's harder for the eye to detect that way. Just looking at the two, I didn't think they were nearly as similar as when I actually swatched through it!

  • Even though I have the first one, I'm still buying it. There's definitely some colours in there that are worth the money and you're also making a great saving :)

  • I already have the first Naked palette, this new one has colors similar to the first one and i can't keep buying eyeshadows with the same or similar colors to the ones i already own. If anything, i need to use up what i have first, before i purchase anymore. With that said, i'm going to pass on this. The people who don't have the first Naked palette would enjoy this though :)

  • I'm liking this, but I'm still not sold. It does look awesome, but I'm not sure.

But am I the only one that is super happy about Half Baked? That's my holy grail color. I use it every day

  • I never understood the hype about the naked palettes to begin with. Besides, you can go to any drugstore and get a basic neutral palette! I never splurge on basics!

  • I understand why the colors can be so similar to the first palette. I mean there is only soo many neutral colors. Also most of their eyeshadows are sparkly, so you can't really expect them to come out with matt shades...

  • @RosieM976 UD actually had a whole range of matte eyeshadows, which they recently discontinued. There are TONS of neutral eyeshadows you can create. Just by changing up the undertones, textures, finishes, and the color alone creates more shades than 12. For instance - how about instead of gold shimmer in a bronze they used green? or teal? or silver? Three different colors right there. No excuses - there is always room for innovation.

  • THANKS SO MUCH 4 THIS VIDEO! urban decay knows what to do .. Hype the 2 more than the first .. No primer potion ... Double ended brush .. Hello!!?? Copy from the sigma palettes!?? & sending them FREE to "bloggers" so us "regular" folk can go crazy!! & $50 .. Kinda pricey...don't know if it's really worth it ? Plus that synthetic brush really isn't good ... I'm waiting ... Or maybe even pass on it ... it's very dissapointing & I SO AGREE WHY HALF BAKED AGAIN?? & still no matte shades

  • @JadesiBx36 ikr!! im just gonna get the first one because i feel like theyre just cheating up with the second one.

  • UD really had a major opportunity to bring out a companion palette to Naked 1. Boy, did they DROP THE BALL ON THIS ONE! I am SO disappointed with Urban Decay! I don't understand why they won't listen to suggestions. This packaging is ANYTHING but chic.

  • I was very disappointed with the fallout of some e/s of the original Naked. I'm curious to see if this time they have a better quality...thanks!

  • UD has not listened to any of the suggestions people had regarding the first one. That's really too bad.

  • honestly the first palette is better and what happened to matte shadows!? for the price im sticking with the one i already have because i dont think u need to have the second one if u already have the first one.

  • I love your reviews!!!! I have a lot of time to decide if i will take the naked2 because i have to wait for sites-"shops" that ship internationally to start selling it. So until then maybe i will have use the half-baked witch is actually my favorite color of the palette:)

  • and.... it looks exactly like the same one...

  • When I first heard there was a Naked 2 Palette, I was beyond excited (led me to google swatches in class, actually hahaha). Upon seeing the shades, I was so disappointed. I can't imagine why they went with colors that could be so easily substituted with those from the original. I have to admit that Snakebite color is beyond gorgeous, but UD... sorry, you haven't won my money with this one.

  • right...i dont like the packaging. it looks like cheap tin

  • Is this your job? you tube makeup videos?

  • i still want it . even though im so in love with naked 1 and not so much on this one theres a few really pretty ones that arent permanent

  • i honestly think they should have made a complementary palette to the first one. From a business point of view it would make sense to have the naked 2 be all matte to use in conjunction with the first, that way you would "feel" like you need both to complete the set.

  • I don't have the naked 1 because I felt it too dark for my skintone. The Naked 2 seems better suited for me and I am awaiting it in the mail!

  • I think you always talk so positive about mac products. and you seem to hold a critical tone against urban decay. dont you think so?

  • @johmarie7 i agree

  • I haven't even got the first NAKED palette yet and they bring out another one. I think I will get the first one and then see if I would really like to have the second one. I might wait for all the excitment to die down first. Looks really good though.

  • i like the packaging on this one better

  • I think that they should have done a naked cool or a naked matte...

I'll want to buy this one too just because I love the packaging, I only ever buy urban palettes and some of the colors are very pretty - it's nice to switch things up.. this palette seems more red/pinky or mauve-y.

I'm super disppointed about the shade Tease, if it had been as amazing as Buck or Naked - it might have saved the palette.

Half Baked? Honestly, I have 3 of those already!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • i'm still getting this

  • I don't have the first NAKED palette and I would rather get the first one than this one

  • Can we buy Sidecar as an individual eyeshadow ???

  • lisp

  • Thank you soooo much for the comparison! That is what I really needed to see. I think that talked me out of wanting the naked 2 when I already own the first one :-)

  • Thanks :D

  • Why is everyone assuming anyone who buys this must already have other UD palettes. I think people are forgetting there are still a lot of first time buyers, who would like at least half baked in a first palette they buy. Most people are not make-collectors and just want to be able to use one palette.

  • @Liselorebon I was actually really excited about half-baked and I own the first Naked! It's my favorite shade.

  • Bottom line to me is...if you didn't get the original get the second one over the first one. If you have the original don't get the second one unless you are just collecting.

  • @MissBianca99 I'm not collecting and I'm still getting this. Just obsessed lol

  • I would prefer the 2nd one...the colors are more of what i go for compared to the 2st naked palette [even tho i have it and use it all the time]....I think they are obviously diff and would be both great things to have....this is def on my xmas list!!

  • I like the 2nd one better in terms of colors but i don't have the 1st one so i might get the Naked 2...

  • I do not understand UD. This is way too similar to the 1st one. The colors differ so slightly it's like it's a knock-off of the 1st. Who knocks off their own product? Very silly UD. We expected better. The good thing? Your review! Awesome as always... Thank You!

  • i think maybe i'll like this one better than the first naked palette, just because this one has a matte black eyeshadow in it.

  • I really appreciate all your first impression and swatches videos, because I get super excited about new makeup coming out and your vids really keep me in check about whether or not it's worth spending that amount of money for them. Thanks always a big help!!!!

  • I received mine today as well. I agree with your review. I think is a beautiful and functional palette, but I think UD missed an opportunity. They could've made N2 a cool tone palette or a matte palette. It's unfortunate that they really did not do anything new here. I'm also disappointed they did the brush instead of a liner.

  • I really wish they had put in another UDPP of any sort in this one rather than a lip gloss just because some of their customers, like me (and I guess this is egotistical to say), are not lip people. It's an EYE palette. But idk. Also, wishing they had more matte shades considering the fact that Naked had so many shimmers anyway.

  • what a letdown, unfortunately! i will be passing on this one for sure. thanks so much for your review Christine! =)

  • I prefer N2...looks way better

  • I still can't decide between Naked and Naked 2, I have one eyeshadow shade already in both palettes, which one do you reckon is nicer? :)

  • After watching your review, I know that I can live without Naked2! Thanks!

  • Blackout is in their anniversary(which I have). Baked is in the fun pal(which I have)& latest book of shadows(also which I have) I do not like baked on me & don't use, wish they'd stop putting it in palettes 4 awhile. There's the shade similar 2 sin that"s a dupe almost! They put 2 many same shades in palettes back 2 back & wish they'd stop doing that. In my opinion naked 2 is good if u don't have naked 1 or any of their recent palettes. It's2 much the same as what I have AND has no eyeliner.

  • The only thing i prefer about this palette is the brush!

  • That palette is only a good value 4 me if it comes w/ an eyeliner! I have the 1st naked & missed out on the batch w/ eyeliner which was a bummer. I have many brushes & hate double ended ones. I'm always wanting more eyeliner pencils u can never have enough. I will b skipping this palette as when u have a ton of eyeshadows it's less tempting without the addition of an eyeliner which would make it a sweeter deal.

  • I totally agree with your review. Why repeat half baked? It's a NAKED sequel palette, so if they were to cop out and repeat a color, why not repeat Naked? It's described as a matte taupe, it would have worked perfectly in this palette over half baked.

  • I'm so excited to get this!

  • I actually like this palette better than the original. The colors are cooler even tho I'm sick of UD RE-releasing shadow colors.

  • is this palette limited edition??

  • @flygirl0 They're both permanent

  • @flygirl0 it is permanent. I checked the temptalia blog.

  • I like it but it seems pointless after the first one. Also, I'd rather it include another mini primer potion than a mini gloss, because they are just much more useful. I don't really mind the brush since it makes for easy travel w/ the palette instead of having to take multiple other ones. I think it would have complemented the other palette better if they had the lighter gold velvet on this one with brown writing, but I guess the case is better to take places.

  • Thanks so much for this Vid christine! Does anyone think naked will go on sale now that naked 2 is out?

  • @webgrl I doubt it since these are both going to be permanent.

  • I feel like some of the shades in naked2 look very similar to thebalm's nude'tude...definately holding out on buying naked2 til I put nude'tude to good use

  • I haven't got either palettes but I really want to get one. Which palette do you think is better?

  • @cheekydiva007x I'd say that the original naked is better, I have it and, judging from this video, naked 2 does not measure up.

  • I prefere the first one!

  • I love your honest reviews, thank you.

  • This was super helpful. I may buy this once my Naked 1 palette is worn out a little. But the shades are too similar for me to justify having both.

  • Do you think urban decay will put the color virgin as a permanent color? I have used a lot of it from my naked 1. Or does anyone know of an exact dupe for virgin?

  • plus why do they need to include half baked in every palette =/

  • LOVE the colors but not so hot about the new packaging. looks a bit flimsy and cheap. Kinda afraid it would easily dent while travelling.

  • So disappointing. I had hoped in watching this that they wouldve had completely different neutral shades. It's one thing to have somewhat similar, but to put shade AND some you can't tell the difference. What a disappointment.

  • Super bellaaaaaa

  • Great review....I hadn't planned on watching the entire thing but what you had to say was interesting so thanks. I plan to get it because of the 5 or 6 more interesting shades that are not in NAKED 1.

  • *I like some of the new shadows, but for the most part, it's a pass.

  • Thanks for the info! I think I'll be sticking to the original palette. I like some of the new

  • Ohhhh its beautifull((((( Why they dont send to ukraine????? I'm really in madness(((

  • And thank you for getting this up here so quickly for us Christine.

  • I feel like Urban Decay isn't putting very much thought into thier palettes lately. First the Book of Shadows 4 was gimmicky and too expensive, and some of the shadows were dissapointing. Now Naked2 is a bit too much like the original Naked, and even has a repeat color. It's a little upsetting because UD is known for their amazing palettes. I have lots of them in all sizes. I'm a little underwhelmed right now, but I'm still looking forward to what they release in 2012.

  • Wow! So thankful you did this video! Every time I liked a shade when you showed comparisons it was a shade from the original Naked!! I already wasn't overly impressed but now I'm pretty certain I'll be passing on it. Thanks for saving me $50! :o)

  • Cant wait till mine arrives....UD shipped it 3 hrs after I ordered! Amazing!

  • Comment removed

  • Hahaha hoe/haux

  • i love your reviews so much...i don't think i will be investing in the naked 2 since i have the original naked palette. i like the colors better in the original and there are too many similar shades in the naked 2 palette. i was hoping for more mattes in this palette and new colors.

  • I think Urban Decay missed the mark on this palette. To compliment Naked1, they should have made more matte shades/cooler tones. These shades are not different enough to merit having both palettes. I also don't like this metal (pencil case) tin. Better than the fake velvet on the original, but it still looks cheap, sorry!

  • I was able to get it... but the site was CRAWLING yesterday. I bought first.. ask questions later lol... Thanks for the swatches!!

  • i love youuuuuuuu

  • thanks for the review :)

  • i don't have any of the naked palettes but i'm getting one soon. which one should i get? 1 or 2? :D

  • i love the brush more than the shadows =/

  • The gloss is horrible! Would rather have another primer potion. Tease is one of the only colors that really stand out to me. I will purchase because the original Naked is my favorite but it would have been nice to see more matte colors.

  • i know u prob here this alot but i have to give u credit for all your hard work, because before i buy any high end makeup product i always have to know what u think and have a look at ure swatches thank you so much for all your hard work ! your great!

  • TGIT. Thank God It's Temptalia. I won't hold my breath for this, but the black looks nice.

  • i would have liked baked instead of half baked!

  • oh yes, btw..awesome review as allways. Super honest and super in depth

  • Seen as you mention that they are quite similar and don't complement each other..i am guessing they will be comming with more of the naked palette series for sure. Maybe this one won't sell as good as the first one, but i think it will sell quite well...and if they come out with a cooler toned naked 3 this one will sell even better, maybe as naked 1..so yeah, i expect more nakedness in the market xD

  • I wish they did a palette with cooler shades, and less shimmer. Sigh.

  • Half baked is their #1 best seller eye shadow! so maybe thats why they included in the Naked2 palette.

  • Thank you for this video! I held out for a long time to buy Naked 1 palette. The Naked 2 palette has too many shimmery shades and tones. I think I'll pass this time.

  • I would be sooooo happy if UD would make a Naked Palette that contains:

-the same set of color from the 1st Naked except that they'll add blackout instead of creep

-duo ended eyeliner instead of brush

    -UDPP instead of lip gloss

-sturdy packaging like Naked 2 but doesn't look like a "pencil case"

THAT'S GONNA BE A PIECE OF HEAVEN FOR ME.

  • The first Naked palette is better.

  • i'm disappointed. there is still too many shimmery ones. I wish it were more mattes so it would compliment the first palette instead of being so much of the same. meh. emperors new clothes.

  • Does anyone know when Sephora will be getting this? I'm in Canada and UD doesn't ship to us. Booooohooooo... first world problems.

  • @bambina1991 mid to late January according to UD

  • Good review thank you! I don't get the dislikes, when somebody is getting in so much detail of information and excellent comments.

  • Okay seriously they need to stop with the half baked, its a good color but think of colors to put in a palette.

  • I was expecting more matt shadows because that was the main the that people were complaining about! Hello?! I am really dissapointed. It's like a dupe for Naked Palette so it's good for anyone who doesn't have Naked Palette. I am really supprised that it's sold out already.

  • i got the first one and didnt really care for it at first but the more i went to the sephora the more i wanted it. And im glad i did cause the colors are amazing so i wouldnt mine getting this one. And i normally care for ud's palettes.

  • can't believe this already sold out! i'm so so happy i ordered mine this morning! yayyy!

  • @BeautySwoon awww are you serious? =( well hopefully it will be a perm like the first palette

  • @hapibth0pel3ss It is permanent

  • i ordered my this morning cant wait to get it <3

  • I think I like Naked 1 better,the colors in Naked 2 are to similar...but if your a collector I recommend it.

  • I Love my Naked 1 Palette, I think I'll get 2 just to collect them. I love Urban Decay and their eye shadows and primer potion are awesome, but everything else is crappy!!

  • I really enjoy your reviews because youre great at describing the products :)

  • wish they'd throw in some greens!!!!

  • Thank You for the review!!!! I have to say I'm contet and happy with just keepin with the naked 1 palette. I use it everday and the quality seems better and great color payoff. So it has more matte shades, I'm sure most of us makeup fanatics all ready own a matte white and black.

  • OMG,your ultra helpful! God bless your heart (: <3 thanks for the swatches, and comparisons and for taking the time to do this.your awesome, thanks! now,i know i wont buy naked 2,i love UD and i love neutrals but naked 1 is satisfying enough,if anything i will purchase the individual shadows of some of the colors.thank you once again! (:

  • For those interested about where their dollar goes-- I noticed the original one that I have was produced in USA and Naked 2 in China:/

  • Thank you SO much for such a comprehensive review! I haven't purchased either of these, and now I know, I'll probably stick with Naked original when/if I ever do! I love neutrals, but I have so many already! Great video tho, loved the comparisons...Have a great weekend!!:)

  • Really? I just got the first one.....

  • Comment removed

  • its $50. but now its sold out on the site. suppose to be back next week. or be more in stock next week. can't wait. totally getting my hands on one.

  • Thanks for such a great review. I really wish they would stop putting half baked in the palettes!

  • i've already read/watched 3 reviews on comparing the two and let me tell you in the beginning i really had no idea which palette i'd prefer to buy (seeing as i have neither) and your video took comparing to the next level and I've come to the conclusion that when i have the money i'll be buying the ORIGINAL. :) but i looooove chopper! thankfully its permanent!
