Still looks magic! Love the place & the people. Was there in the mid 80's and could've stayed but with the visa thing & no choice local sheilah to marry (all the goodies were taken!) I"m living on a Hauraki Gulf Island, married to a lovely yet feisty woman, have a wonderful yet feisty daughter & want for bugger all. Oh yea- decent uncrowded waves. Life's a bastard at times !
Yeah..I agree with 1967model I was brought up in this town. It's my home-town. This was back in 1958-68 then I moved to San Diego Southern California. Still got relatives in Newquay, and Perranporth. My cousins family owns and runs, from what I remember, the Highbury hotel which is located a top 'Towan-Beach'. Used to love walking, at low-tide across the beaches from the harbor to 'Tolcarne beach' where I would then go to my grandmothers house up at St. Annes road.
Yeah..I miss her too...real bad. Even though I have been warned by my mum that the place has changed. But I know that despite all of the alleged changes there are still things that I know still remain the same. Special places that I used to go to I'm sure are still the same. Funny thing is that when I was a kid you'd never have to tell me to get lost....I did a couple of times and the police went out looking for my arse. Boy did I get into trouble when I at last found my way 'ome again.
nope the best beech is crantock and the best vilegeis cubert chek out the bus stop its the top place to sit till the chip shop opens ... or you cud go to foxholl its got a club that plays top sounds ... and on clear nites you can throw stones at the moon to try and put it out
We spent ages at work (Newquay Sports Centre) trying to figure out what that T-Boo van was! By the way you missed out the nicest area near steps, Digeries bay!
