  • Sorry - ignore my comment I hadn't watched the vid for long enough to see the settings in green at the bottom. Duh :-)

  • Do you recall what your settings on the amp were? I'd be interested to know.

  • Yes, this is close to Clapton. We all know the JTM45 was a British Bassman, and the Bassman is close to the Twin...

  • @Wizmar Clapton uses these ones now.

  • Sweeeet Mayte !

these amps will make you sound better than ever before. . .I dont work for fender, i just own one and will probably buy another when needed.

  • that snappy bite that amp has is worth swapping my wife for, god she would be gone in a heartbeat if it was that amp or her.

  • @UKToneHunter I'm with ya buddy I'd swap your wife for that amp as well lol.

  • ..I don't like Clapton's tone either - either the 'woman tone' or his latterly 'mid-boosted strat tone'.I do however love Tweed amps an Bluesbreaker tones! Can you do another clip with a bit more 'hair'?

  • My apologies everyone. I'm not going to lie, I'm not a fan of Clapton, only a compiler of his "facts" so that I may attain his Beano tone.

  • @rolodexroulette so pleased someone else dislikes Clapton,I saw him nearly live once.He was onstage and he realy looked like he wanted to be somewhere else.Like a bloke clocking on for a job he disliked.

I walked out halfway thru that was enough

  • Very sweet sounding amp. And sweet playing....good groove...

  • the distorted tones comes from a pedal ofjust guitar volume and its coming all from amp ?? thanks x sharing

  • Great tone and playing!!!!!

  • First like sounds like gatemouth brown.

  • It sounds like early Eric Clapton

  • @Strateuphoria

Actually, no it doesn't. Clapton used a JTM45 in a combo, which Marshall had commissioned for him. The amp and tone would be later known as the bluesbreaker amp, which is referred to as the early Clapton sound. To achieve this sound, he had a 1960 Les Paul Standard and the amp I just spoke of... Clapton pushes his amp to break up quite a lot during his early years.

This amp is more like Keith Richards

  • @rolodexroulette Maybe he means earlier clapton? Yardbirds.

  • @rolodexroulette Funny thing is, that first JTM45 combo differed from later versions, and was actually based very much on a Fender design and sound. The specs on the JTM45 combo that Clapton used were very different from what later became the "Bluesbreaker" amp, and the associated re-issue. Many of the details of that original amp design have been lost to history, and many of the parts are no longer available. I think Strateuphoria may be onto something saying it sounds like EC.

  • @rolodexroulette You hear too much with your eyes. Listen to it, don't say it doesn't sound like it because it's not what he used.

  • Great Amp and demo.

  • To my ears, these Tweed amps from Fender are really worth their weight in gold...

  • Thanks for these comparitive vids of your Twin - nice to hear.
