This Met performance is released on two DVD-discs from DG. It is the most beautifull Meistersinger-performance, I ever have seen on scene or DVD. Heppners very lyrical Stolzing is on the same level as that of Kollo on the Karajan release, and James Morris is the best Sachs since the days of Hans Hotter. As Pogner and daughter Eva Rene Pape and Karita Mattila is splendid.
Levines reading the score is one of best, I ever heard.
