  • Riyaaz Qawwali -देवी!

  • wah...what a beautiful, soulful and wholehearted rendering...music brings people and nations together irrespective of their background.....good to see you musicians performing a Hindu Bhajan in a Muslim Qawwali style.....music is divine in whatever form it is.....good work...

  • Pardon me for being greedy but where can I get my hands on some of the MP3s

  • Nice innovation..

  • Beautiful. Thank you for this rendition.

  • Butiful.. Excellent..& Wonderful..!.. Gud Wishes.. (AbbA)

  • This is absolutely brilliant. It never struck me that Vaishnavo could be interpreted in a qawwali style. Musical innovation at its best! If one has a basic musical sense, then harmonium and tabla are still enough! Bravo!!!

  • @schakraborty Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan actually sings a Naat/qawwali - Ayi Naseemay Koiye Muhummad with a very similar melody as Vaishnav Janato, so we just combined Khansahib's melody with the lyrics of Vaishnav Janato. Thank you for your comment, so glad you enjoyed it! :)

  • VaishNawa jan to tene kahiye, je peed paraayee jaNe re

He is the true Vaishnava who knows and feels another's woes as his own.

Par dukkhe upkar kare toye, man abhiman na aaNe re

While he serves those who are suffering, he does not entertain pride in mind about it.

SakaL lok maan sahune vande, nindaa na kare keni re

He respects everyone, and denounces nobody.

Waach-kaachch-man nischal raakhe, dhan dhan janani teni re

He keeps his speech, deeds, and thoughts pure; blessed is his mother.

  • Sam-drushti ne trishNaa tyaagi, parastree jene maat re

Viewing all equally, he rids himself of covetousness, and reveres every woman as though she were his mother.

Jihwaa thake, asatya na bole, par-dhan nava jhaale haath re

His tongue would fail him if he tries to speak an untruth. He does not covet another person's wealth.

Moh-maayaa wyaape nahin jene, draDh wairagya jena manmaa re

Material attachments do not occupy his mind, it being deeply rooted in renunciation.

  • @nidhidhian I loved the song without understanding anything...but with ur translation the beauty of the bajan has been blossomed,,,,,,,,and i love the qawalli version even more.

  • Good Innovation

  • Raam-naam shu taaLE laagi, sakaL teerath tena tanmaa re

Every moment he is intent on reciting the name of God. All the holy places are ever present in his body. Sanskrit राम जो सब् जगहः रम रहा है

WaNa lobhi ne kapat rahit chhe, kaam krodh nivaarya re

He has conquered greed, deceit, lust, and anger.

BhaNe Narsaiyyo tenu darshan karata, kuL ekoter tarya re

Says Narasi, the sight of such a Vaishnava saves a family through seventy-one generations.

  • Very innovative.

    One error...

    The words are

    Raam naan dhun..tali laagi..

    not soon...

The One in whom the Lord has awakened and the eternal chant of Atmaram is ongoing, in such a one resides all the places of pilgrimage..

    Good work..Congratulations

  • @VISHUDDHATMA

    Wikipedia says:

raam-naam shu taaLE laagi, sakaL teerath tena tanmaa re ... [Every moment he is intent on reciting the name of the Lord Rama. All the holy places are ever present in his body]

  • @VISHUDDHATMA

It is "shu(n)" where n is not pronounced but is nasal as it is a Gujarati word. The meaning is similar to that mentioned in Wikipedia. The pronunciation of these singers for many words in the song is slightly erroneous but the effort is commendable.

  • Good Work....
