What I don't understand is why white couldn't checkmate with the queen when it was supported by both the bishop and knight?

@TheChessvids my first book was in descriptive notation, but i am not that old : ) i always wondered why they did not use some sort of coordinate notation, then i realized they did (when i bought my next book)
