  • I play trombone and i'm in seventh grade. I played this in band today. Best song ever!!!!

  • Love the song very nice played, altho im a clarinet player and the clarinets sounded very out of tune and try to accent too much keep ti short and steady sounds very flat

  • too academic and formal especially at the end, anyway good jobs

  • No, this is the right kind of tempo, the idea that Irish music should be as fast as possible is just false. HOWEVER, that is just about the ONLY thing right about this performance in any way at all. Irish tunes should never ever ever EVER be played by an orchestra, it's almost sacrilege, and even aside from that, each note in the tune is played like it's on its own, not a component of any kind of musical phrase.

OK, so they actually did get the tempo right, but apart from that it's just awful.

  • @Joe1729 Good thing it's not an orchestra, then. :)

  • @Gandrolok A "Symphonic Band" is a type of orchestra.

  • @Joe1729 It's actually not. Just about universally, orchestras are composed of strings, winds, percussion and other miscellaneous instrument groups. What this group is lacking in order to be called an orchestra is a section of strings. There are no strings in this ensemble. Thus, it is not an orchestra and is instead simply named a band.

  • @Gandrolok Okay, maybe there is some kind of formal definition of an orchestra that I was not aware of. However, if you had half a brain cell, you'd realise that that is *entirely irrelevant* to the point I was making.

  • Good! very good!

  • this song is super easy and im only 13

  • Well, get this. They're playing it about 60 beats under tempo. Give that a try, little kid.

  • @MrDrewboggess i play it at 200

  • fuckin classic

  • its hard to play Irish Washerwoman at the original speed... i play around the world

in 80 measure and i have a lot of difficulty for this music... but i think if you have more pratice......

  • This song is usualy played alot faster, but this is still very nice

  • we played this a lot faster!

  • Too slow, bad clarinet tone. The band as a whole sounds good, though.

  • wow this is slower than usal this was how fast we started partice with it is supposed to be 160 ur at like 120

  • you guys were awesome.

my high school did this fall semester.

    we were pretty best.

  • TOO SLOW MAN

    TRY PLAY AT ORIGINAL SPEED

  • I think that this tempo is pretty standard, if not even a little slower.

  • original 160

  • Very good! Clarinets, more air, faster air, and tighter embouchure (this means more pressure from the bottom, i.e. flat chin, "wee-too" expression, tight corners of the mouth, and no biting; teeth rest gently on mouthpiece). This will get rid of the "bwEEp" sound that you get on staccato notes. Also on staccato notes, tongue the beginning and END of the note ("tut" on tip of the reed with the tip of the tongue")
