  • When I was involved in gymnastics in the 60's she was a joy to watch. Her grace and style gave Russian gymnastics a classy feminine side. I am sad she has passed away, still I remember her with much respect and fondness.

  • its a shame that this is pretty much the only footage remaining of her

  • What a great lady-she is a legend in her sport and I have read she was the Queen of the Uneven Bars in her day.

  • It's sooo soo awesome that she started at the age of 13!

  • y did u put amazin grce on it when u cn c she aint american

  • Amazing grace is not just an American song. It has been translated in many languages including Russian. I used the music because it compliments her artist style.

  • Well put Misha21. XxHuntressxX1's post has to be one of the most ridiculous I have ever had the misfortune of coming across on youtube. Simply obsurd.

  • Since when is a beautiful song only to be used based on a person's nationality? I've never read anything so obsurd in all my life.

  • Simply absurd is right.

  • Oops' 'absurd' not 'obsurd'. My bad.

  • She was the beautiful woman with the blond pony tail at so many Olympic games, supporting her girls after their routines.

  • Nice tribute.

  • Anyway 50's or 60's she still young...Rest in Peace my respects from Brazil

  • how did she die?

  • Polina died simply of old age, she competed in the late 50's, early 60's and was in her 20's then.

  • @Misha21 Oh wow. I heard she had cancer. I could be wrong though. Wonderful montage, thank you for uploading :-)

  • This reminds me of Oksana Kontina. A gymnast that was only 20 years old. She died in a car accident when her fiance got drunk. She died hours after the impact. I cry when I see these young people die. I cry when I see anyone die. I fear of loved ones then dying. But luckily Jesus died for US. Died for YOU. And died for ME. So we can live eternally.

  • Hey... I just found out she was the coach for Olga Korbut at Munich Olympic 1972.

  • She was actually the coach for the whole USSR team at the Olympics, mainly because the team could have only one coach on the floor and they decided it should be a female.
