it means the passenger didnt have the door closed properly, would have been a worry in the foxhole, especialy as i didnt have the role cage fitted at this time.
Nice car man it looks great, where did you get those GTS rear flares for your Car? Are they fiberglass or metal? I want to do this to mine but I can't find the parts?
I might be visiting Germany this summer. I would love to ship my 928's over to Germany and take a spin on Nurburing, but that would probably be a big pain. Maybe I'll see if I can just rent a 928 over in Germany, instead of shipping mine over. It seems like I would have a blast! Awsome video by the way. In my opinion the 928 is still the best Porsche ever made. It just has such an excellent balance of speed, handling, and luxury!
Couldn't agree with you more. I don't know why they were ill received by most of the Porsche purists. It is my favorite of the brand and I have been in quite a few. Ah well.... their loss.
Nice 928 there bro, choice. The 'ring is top of my list of things to do before I die. As a front engine Porsche enthusiast I hope to do it in a 944S2 that I plan to buy in England (RHD) and get converted to a station wagon in Germany. Whilst I'm there, the 'ring is #1 priority.
i am a kiwi and this place is awesome, it deserves real respect. im not a racing driver and i took the view that it was better to be slow and get to come back again! hence im short shifting a lot of the time and late on the throttle out of corners, only giving it full beans on short straights. on the approach to schwedenkruz and the long up hill before the karussel ive feathered the throttle, after only 20 or so laps there isnt much point in going faster than you can take the next corner.
I'd take a late model 944 Turbo S over a 928 any day. The 944 is regarded as having better balance and handling than the 928 and is lighter, cheaper and more reliable. Top Gear compared the 928 and a non-turbo 944 and even that 944 beat the 928 around a track. Not in a straight line though.
Yeah, the lines were good at about 60% of the time and the technique (sp?) was so, so. But I would win easily in a race. :) I hope to buy one of these when I get a bit more stable economy.
Not a bad driver. His lines were pretty good, especially considering so much traffic to go through.
His shifts were a little slow. (I was a former dir. of a race school). Also I have an '87 928S4 and think they are one of the best all-time Porsches ever made.
thanks for the video dude. You sound like you are from New Zealand.Maybe Australia? Listening to your accent. Love Porsche and Audi. lucky bugger going on this track. Good on you!
Yes it is: the 928 is technically much more modern than the 911 of the same age. And it's handling is way better thanks to the 50/50 weight distribution. And you shouldn't compare 2nd hand prices. Compare the prices of the cars when they came out: a '91 928 GTS costed €128.465
a '91 911 964 Carrera 2 Coupé costed €96.065
Only the 911 Turbo was more expensive at that time. Also the maintenance costs are much higher for a 928.
Why is it less expensive today? One of the reasons is that the transaxles aren't apreciated as much as the 911 series. But prices in Europe are slowly getting higher.
Never know what to do on ANY corner, mate, you mean. Not just the odd one.
What a waste of a car.

Too late on the power coming out of the apex, but the camera car driver is still better than the leader.

The sound is a bit similar to American V8's, but much more refined. Definitly one of the greatest Porsches, but I do like them all!
