What I menat was for example, lest say i want to drill into the end of a 3 foot stick standing end up vertically. The stick would be to tall to put under the drill. So if I could pivot the drill press head away from the drill press table i could get the clearance. Drill mill machines can do that but I don' know about drill presses. Seems like a great drill for the money. I might try a router bit on it as well but just for light stuff once in a while till I get a router set up.
I got the same one still in the box from Grizzly. Mines the bench model same as yours without the stand. I am going to mount it on a 200 pound steel mobile cart I made from a pump housing I got free from a dry cleaners. I gutted the broke pump and kept the rest of it. I am wanting know if the drill press head can pivot and still be used if I tighten it up 90 degrees from the normal position on occasion ???
@riecard To tell you the truth i don't know, I personally have a stand that clamps stuff and moves whatever i have around at any angle, I just don't know with what you want to do, i will look and see if it is possible. Sorry i couldn't be more help.
Hello. I just bought this drill press. I was going to go with the 1/2 HP one but I noticed a lot of reviews stating it was severely underpowered. I also just recently purchased the G0715P Table Saw Polar Bear Series. I'm still setting that up lol. Do you have other Grizzly Products that you are pleased with? Where you from?
@electrotechbk Yeah i felt the 1/2 hp was underpowered, that extra 1/4 of a horse lets you do so much more, i would recommended their band saws, i have worked with a mid sized one and it works really well, i have also used a belt sander by them, it was pretty good but seemed to break belts prematurely and it was not due to operator error, i am jealous to hear you got a brand new table saw, you should make a video when its finished, i live in Connecticut
what model number is tht?
