The X-Men "appeared" in the first Spider-Man movie, too (and as many times as I've seen it, I just noticed this). As Peter is looking at ads for cars after MJ leaves with Flash, there is a poster of the X-Men on Peter's wall. Pause the movie and you can just barely make out Gambit standing behind Wolverine in his brown and tan costume. Nice reference.

Bryan Singer had one of his stunt men, Scott Leva, dress in a Spider-Man suit and confront actors James Marsden (Cyclops), Famke Janssen (Jean Grey), and Halle Berry (Storm) on set one day as a joke. Leva had actually dressed up in an identical Spider-Man costume once before for Marvel Comics in 1985 for the cover of "The Amazing Spider-Man" comic book, issue #262. In the outtake, Spider-Man realizes that he's in the wrong movie, backs off and runs away,
