  • Edinburgh band

  • I love the Scottish fiction cd. Iam listen to some other stuff by them and I like it too

  • They're scottish

  • I used to play this over and over again on my walkman until the tape wore out.

  • SWweeettt!

  • AWSOME! TOO BAD NOBODY KNOWS THEM OVER HERE, IN SPAIN

  • Does it matter that I am 50 and I love this band and all they do,

Just wondering as it seems some people think bands and ages have to comply.

Shame really as my mam was head banging to Deep Purple when I was going through my Donny Osmond period, which I quickly changed to Led Z et all and eventually this band but to name but a few.

Music is ageless... really it is

I enjoy and love music of all times if it is good music and this is good music.

  • @hoobity2908

Matters not one bit. I'm 47 and love them.

  • Their best !

  • Roddy Woomble - Liverpool Kazimier, Sunday 6th February

Lau - Liverpool Kazimier, Friday 11th March

  • Its odd, you got Biffy basically owning the pop rock scene but these guys spank them,

  • @ichithekiller85 Enjoy both of them! I'm a huge fan of both bands but Biffy's early stuff just beats Idlewild's imo ;)

  • @crackout97 no chance, each to there own, but idlewild has a real edge on any biffy clyro grunge wise, and on the folk theme is distinctivly scottish as it can get.

but lol each to their own

  • the acoustic versions on the b side of these wooden ideas cd2

  • love that intro!

  • YES!

  • I remember them performing this on Top of the Pops.

  • There's also the airport :P

  • One of their best songs ! great

  • Seen these guy's at the Riverside in Newcastle in 98 after hearing the Captain EP. Thought they where awesome then and i knew they would go on to be a truly great band.

  • Oh Roddy...be still my beating heart.

    *sigh*

  • Haha!

    :D

  • Haha, i do know how you feel.

  • idlewild ftw

  • hey there is a park/amunset park called idelwild lol

  • I saw Idlewild for the first time in 2000 when they performed this and Little Discourage at Later with Jools Holland. I remember I kept repeating both of these songs from that broadcast, skipping most of the other ones. I got both albums I could find, "Hope is Important" and "100 Broken Windows"

After all these years I am rediscovering many of my favourite bands and am pleased to find out they returned to a heavier sound with their latest album, but I should also get the other albums.

  • Seen em four times and they never play it. Shame!!!

  • blistering chorus..makes the song what it is

  • I forgot all about this one!!

    Brilliant!!

  • idlewild rule

  • : )

  • the emo comment i make before is about me loving this song..

its nothing to do with idlewild or the genre. I should have just used the word "emotional"

As for emo not existing until 2000... oh dear the first time i heard the term was about the band The Ataris and their song San Dimas HIgh School Rules circa 1998

Anyway - I really do love this song and recognise you all misunderstood my comment. It had nothing to do with emo music all to do with the emotional content of my post

    DUR

  • loved this song...still do...even bought the cd single!

  • Love Idlewild! This was the first song I bought of theirs back in 2000

  • emo crap?

emo sings about silly teenager stuff.

    idlewild doesn't

  • i dont think you yourself even know what your talking about.

    EPIC FAIL!

  • again read it properly i love idlewild the emo crap is referring to my own comment not the song

  • quadsimo your a fucking tit this was before the emo era and there was no such thing as emo music in 2000. idlewild r a gr8 band and their music is great. simple as tht

  • i know this

the "emo" comment is about my very own sensitive and emotional comment about how much i love this song

fuck off you simple cunt and read properly

  • erm.. Fugazi? just cos emo wasn't maintstream in 2000 doesnt mean it wasn't there.

  • finally someone realizes that emo was not started by my chemical romance..

what happened to good old emo like rites of spring and sunny day real estate and far

  • pavement ftw

  • god you morons

I adore this song i would go as far as say its like a part of me. I LOVE IT THAT MUCH

the above comment i mean sounds like emo crap... not the music.

touchy sensitive arseholes can't you read?

I have every single cd and vinyl by idlewild on the food label.

  • sorry man gud on ya for being a big idlewild fan. i jus hate it when people have a dig at a song u like which u wernt doing, sorry ok

  • no problem at all just didn't want to be misunderstood lets enjoy the music ! :)

  • exactly :) i only got defensive cuz i fckin hate emo music nd wud hate for it to be associated with this.

  • There are only two types of music. good music and bad music.

  • no, theres "in the middle" music aswell..

  • Love this song. =D

  • never heard that one before, damn good!

  • Wow i am one of the first to comment. This song is so good.

  • awesome song.
