Does it matter that I am 50 and I love this band and all they do,
Just wondering as it seems some people think bands and ages have to comply.
Shame really as my mam was head banging to Deep Purple when I was going through my Donny Osmond period, which I quickly changed to Led Z et all and eventually this band but to name but a few.
Music is ageless... really it is
I enjoy and love music of all times if it is good music and this is good music.
@crackout97 no chance, each to there own, but idlewild has a real edge on any biffy clyro grunge wise, and on the folk theme is distinctivly scottish as it can get.
Seen these guy's at the Riverside in Newcastle in 98 after hearing the Captain EP. Thought they where awesome then and i knew they would go on to be a truly great band.
I saw Idlewild for the first time in 2000 when they performed this and Little Discourage at Later with Jools Holland. I remember I kept repeating both of these songs from that broadcast, skipping most of the other ones. I got both albums I could find, "Hope is Important" and "100 Broken Windows"
After all these years I am rediscovering many of my favourite bands and am pleased to find out they returned to a heavier sound with their latest album, but I should also get the other albums.
the emo comment i make before is about me loving this song..
its nothing to do with idlewild or the genre. I should have just used the word "emotional"
As for emo not existing until 2000... oh dear the first time i heard the term was about the band The Ataris and their song San Dimas HIgh School Rules circa 1998
Anyway - I really do love this song and recognise you all misunderstood my comment. It had nothing to do with emo music all to do with the emotional content of my post
quadsimo your a fucking tit this was before the emo era and there was no such thing as emo music in 2000. idlewild r a gr8 band and their music is great. simple as tht

Its odd, you got Biffy basically owning the pop rock scene but these guys spank them,
ichithekiller85 1 year ago
@ichithekiller85 Enjoy both of them! I'm a huge fan of both bands but Biffy's early stuff just beats Idlewild's imo ;)
