Egypt is a lot like any poorly developed African country, which is UNABLE to survive on her own...
When the Egyptian ferry went down... The mighty Egyptian navy could not conduct a PROPER search and rescue.. So, Mubarak was, as usual, begging for US and British help. Even Israel wanted to lend a hand to her weak, delinquent ally.
Egyptian and Arab "independence" should be announced dead, and let them rejoin the British Empire as obedient colonial subjects in exchange for bread and water.
What's the point of "independence" and "national pride" while the indigenous populous can't find clean water to drink, competent schools to teach their children, a viable parliament through which they can voice their opinions.
Arabs have this say since the "pagan" times...
"Slaves can't charge for an attack or withdraw from a battle"
Perhaps colonialism robbed, say, 70% of the people's wealth.
I had high hopes of Al Jazeera English to attract a wide audience...
But it is sad to see it as an immature, Arabic-accented, excessively British-composed news channel that does *NOT* appeal to mainstream audience.
The thick British accent of most the journalists and allowing Egyptian and Arab correspondents to deliver news segments in broken unauthentic English made Al Jazeera English a failure.
It should be conducted by American journalists and delivered in CNN-style production.

I strangely agree with you. There like little children, they need an adult US, Britain or Israel to tell them what to do and help them.
