Having ducked good fighters when the fights would've mattered, who's the next decrepid "legend" Joe wil choose to fight and get undue credit for beating?
As far as I'm concerned, the only meaningful win he's had in years was over Kessler.
I'd like to see him fight Andrade.

and he has said that he does not want to ever face kessler again. i think he would lose. if the match was in denmark he would have lost. it was that close. to give calzaghe a 117-112 win was a disgrace. calzaghe landed nothing that hurt kessler. only a cheap shot that the ringmaster let go. what a shame. in a rematch he would smash calzaghe. thats why Calzaghe is affraid of that fight.

I would also like to see Calzaghe-Pavlik and I understand the "he's scared" theory, but if Calzaghe goes with R.J.Jr I think it'll be financial more than anything else. IMO, Calzaghe could beat Pavlik just on expertise and guile; C has faced hard punchers but P has never faced anyone in the 40+ wins club...and BTW my angry british friends, I'm a yank and i dig the hell out of Calzaghe. Pavlik is certainly dangerous tho.

ya can argue all ya like, but the american writers stateside, who are respected, afforded Joe respect for takin an untested brawler(u.s rated this kid high) to the clinic.Bhop is proven at the higher level, no doubt,but to to totally disregard joes abilities is both blind & ignorant.these 2 guys have done a lot for boxing n still do.if this was 3-5 years ago id a gone Bhop all the way, i just think joe has grown the points back he wuda lost 3-5 years ago n that makes it an even fight for me.

Hopkins challenged calzaghe, everyone sed calzaghe wud lose and when he won they sed that he only won cos he fought a 42 year old. If people still don't think he is a good fighter, the BHop fight isn't going to do anything for them (if Joe won - which he would). Because we all know that once BHop lost, all the people who still hate Calzaghe would just say "Oh BHop is past his prime, he is old". To me, Calzaghe has nothing left to prove. If the remaining critics can't see that, they're missing out!

kessler was untested lacy was garbage never more then a puncher at best! b-hop even at 43 is still one of the most well rounded fighters in the sport..i wont take anything away from calzaghe if he wins (which i seriously doubt) but dont make it seem like bernard is in his prime and at his best at this point in time! hopkins will be the bigger stronger more techically sound (smarter fighter) in this match up all jc can hope to do is out work him 4 a decision!

I think it'd be a decent fight...that'll never happen. Joe's publicly stated with a lot of certainty that he'll retire in the next year, give or take a few months. After Kessler I think he'll do a big money fight, maybe 2, then he's done. There's nowhere near the payday in Pavlik that there would be in B.Hop or Taylor. I think he could give Joe a fine fight but i doubt it'll happen. Pav is damn good though, no doubt!
