Microsoft Need People Like You Who Can Do Stuff Like This. This Is The Future Gaming Right Here Man. With More Time, Help, and Money I Guess This Can Be Perfected.
@mattx017 it's a combination of the motions. I crouch, turn, stand and punch. D-DR-R+PUNCH, standard fireball :) My body is basically 1 to 1 matched with what you would do on a joystick
@vaghoust it is definitely you. play megaman, castlevania, guardian legend, ninja gaiden, or any indie game that attempts to capture the retro feel of older consoles. trust me, mainstream commercial games are child's play (no pun intended) compared to a lot of older stuff.
imagine fighting zhangrift and his sweating, what if he had to deal with Seth or the whole arcade mode i mean god this will be a damm good high intensity workout!!!
If you want to show yourself in youtube, i can anderstand this movement capture, but if you're alone in front of your kinect, it's more fun if you can imitate more you're favorites fighters.
man after watching this video i just feel like selling my xbox 360 and kinect. Microsoft can give me a call back once they get rid of the lag and unresponsiveness... the concept would be fun (if it actually worked), but as it is right now its painful to watch and even more to play it like this.
man this is cool but reading this dudes comments just made me laugh. what a douchebag. you call people fatasses and call gaming pointless if you aren't waving around like a retard with unresponsive controls. you sound like you just discovered working out or some shit
The fact that this works is amazing. But I think that companies need to stop trying to implement new ways to console games. A physical handheld control is still the best way for consoles to be played. It's like trying to come up with a better way to play/control a PC, can you really top a keyboard and mouse?
@ALLoY202 obviously this sorta stuff will never get the precision that finger pressing controllers will have, but I wasted enough years as a kid playing NES/SNES/PC games, with no physical/future value to them at all. If I had kids, I'd let them have a Kinect, but I can't agree with the pointless gaming that I did as a kid. I hope the Kinect style market grows and grows. Wii/Move are good too... I think Kinect with gripped controllers with buttons would be the best merger of control methods
@garethop are you suggesting that games on the NES/SNES were ever intended to be anything other than entertainment? because thats what video games, for the most part, are supposed to be. a medium of entertainment. unless you think entertainment is a waste, you may want to re-evaluate that argument.
but i see what youre saying about the kinect, and i agree. its definitely a good thing to mix into kids games for exercise. just keep it out of major releases and we're all good.
@garethop I'm just saying doesn't look that tiring is all, but sorry didn' realize it was after an hour, perhaps u were giving it your all when u first started playing and got kind of sluggish when u presented it, so my bad :)
Hm.. this reminds me of a manga/comic called Super Fighter i once read back in the 90's where the arcade players bout/fight head to head with each other in a virtual-like arcade machine and separated by a thin layer of glass screen.
WELL I HATE KINECT WHY FIIGHT ON KINECT WHEN YOU CAN REALY LEARN A MARCIAL ART AND REAL FIGHTING I MISS SO MUCH NORMAL PS3 CONTROLERS NOT WII MOTES PLAY STACION CONTROLS PLEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASE
@Isaachisama people are more likely to play something at home, compared to signing up and actually going to a class with other people around... social anxiety, not wanting to leave the house... the convenience of going all out in your living room... lots of reasons things like this will become more and more prevalent as the years go by.
Dont feed the fanboys people we all know that this is fucking amazing deep down and also Garethop Get in contact with the creators and make this shit happen on future titles
@finalform11 thanks :) That would obviously be REALLY nice to have things like SF4 actually built to use Kinect... the control would have the potential to grow a LOT, like in-air-only actions, stuff like that which require to know game status. For now I'll just keep tweaking things to get a bit better :)
if they start using kinect for fighting games im giving up for good. you will never get the control you get from a stick or even a pad. the best youd get is scxrub flowchart shit out of this. fuck knows how ud use complex charas like viper, or even the easy ones. this is a joke

@azngamer16 it's not weight lifting, it's cardio. And yes, it builds up a real good sweat real quick. I eventually get exhausted and stop. It's a little less difficult than a private kick boxing session
@garethop Ahh I see. That's pretty neat. I go train at a local gym but this would be an awesome way for people who can't get out easily to have fun while working out. Nice job!
@azngamer16 exactly :) I get bored out of my mind on the treadmill, but I could go on and on playing this. Especially when it's easier to do and play against friends online :)
@dakid52990 maybe at first, but the next time you walk up to play, you'll be getting ready for some moving around, and eventually forget those controllers :)
@0mguusehaxub1tch That game would work... I don't have a setup to hack console games to play with Kinect yet... only games on the computer :) Kinect already has a first-person plain boxing game on the "Kinect Sports" package. It's pretty damn fun, but the tracking messes up a lot when I play it.
@sholderubber0 yeah, I don't think I'd want to even try it with someone else in the same room. A network game or some other setup would be a lot of fun though!
@Bollatic I see the gaming problem with Kinect in that it is new, so very few companies are willing to put in the financial risk in developing for it. So until that changes, best thing I can think of is to use it for games we already enjoy :)
@vimalj89 I used a Kinect program for the PC called "FAAST", anyone can use it, you just have to setup your configuration properly. And you don't need the XBOX, just the Kinect itself and connect that to your computer (gonna need a decently fast computer though)
@garethop u could try configuring modern warfare 2 !! ..... ull need to hold a controller in one hand though .... use the other for hip fire aiming ... raise the other hand to eye for accurate aiming .... move feet fast to sprint .... jump to jump .... and for firing ... flick wrist ? .. or the L2 or L1 from most controllers for firing .
it may be perfect for "halo" coz halo doesn't use precision aiming all tht much .
@vimalj89 so far, playing FPS's has not been very good... holding hand out to aim gets very boring and tiring. The only luck i've had was with using a remote to do the left/right/up/down, but stil not very good. I'll try more when the new faster reaction software from microsoft comes out in a few months
@TheChrysalis the charge moves are.. .basically impossible to do with my setup... I tried being guile, it took forever to get one sonic boom to execute. I'm sure someone else more motivated to play those chars could figure out something to do for those
@kaimisawesome Also I've seen something like this in Arizona a couple years ago. One of the malls there had an arcade that had Tekken. And it was full body sensor too, it was hard to play but it was super fun.
