I did not know that. I see that George expanded the John Lee Hooker version quite a bit. We dropped the song soon after this, when we got a new bass player. The main reason for dropping it was that the dancers would always get a tired look in their eyes towards the end of this almost 9 minute long song. I'm amazed that I could remember all those words. Fun stuff! Notice the drum cue that we added after each "what you need?" to go into the chorus section.
berglarsen is right but still nobody ever sang it better then george. and arnos is mainly known because george admires his music ;)

first part of this is house rent boogie by hooker.
second part is one bourbon,one scotch,(i drinking now),one beer by milburn. george combined the two on his first or second album way back.72 i think?
