@Olorune Clips from Ghost in the Shell and Ghost in the Shell: Innocence, both movies. If you want you could try the original manga, it's pretty cool, but sightly different to the movie.

And at some point there's a moment from Jin Roh, another film directed by Mamoru Oshii.

The TV series has no connection to the movies, they take place in different years, the characters are slightly different and the stories don't match at all.

@Olorune Depends on what you want. There's THREE separate iterations, maybe more. There's the original Manga. Then there's the movie and a follow up movie which is separate. THEN there's the TV series (2 seasons + 1 wrap up movie) which is ANOTHER interpretation. I've seen the movie and the TV series and prefer the latter.

Yes, I noticed this ASAP when I watched this (ty other Jin-Roh fans who noticed this) but the riot scenes where the protesters are throwing Molotov grenades is from Jin-Roh, not GitS: Innocence. Although it goes great with the video, Jin-Roh should be credited too. It's a gorgeous movie.

Would've loved it if HR went more into philosophical detail. In fact it borrowed so much from GITS the "wet drive hacking" wasn't even a twist for me since I was already so familiar with the concept.
