  • Sorry if you already have a video about this, but could you go into more detail about what you said concerning cooked food numbs us, and makes us not be able to feel our feelings?

  • @lnsertCleverName No apologies necessary. I will add this to my list of videos to do. :0)

  • @rawsynergytv Also, how do you feel about short term fasting, maybe 3 days to a week? Not really thinking about weight loss, but more like for cleansing and detoxifying the body. I'm thinking things like digestive problems and whatnot. Thanks for replying.

  • @lnsertCleverName I've heard it can be very good. I've only done a 1 day water fast & it was extremely difficult for me. I prefer a focus on a lot of fruit for cleansing & healing digestive issues. That worked best for me personally. Juice fasts on fresh grape juice & other juicy fruits like melons & such can also be very beneficial without needing to be bedridden like you do on a water fast. Just simply eating only fruit all day & a big green salad at night can make major improvements. :0)

  • @xnenaxo I live in Minneapolis, MN and it is very cold here as well. I try and consume as much raw fruits and vegetables as I can and when the temp drops to single digits or below zero and I am literally shivering, I comfort myself by sipping on some hot herbal tea. It helps a lot.

  • @xnenaxo theyll make you beautiful and young!

  • @brilliantou and healthy of course!

  • @xnenaxo I am in NYC, its not as cold as in my home country Lithuania, so dont complain, NYC is very easy to eat raw., be happy and think how lucky we are to be able to eat them!

  • @xnenaxo I'm sort of spoiled because I live in southern California & the weather never gets too cold. I would probably have bananas, apples & dates mixed together with some cinnamon for breakfast & prepare more savory dishes at night. I would also sip warm water if it got really cold. I definitely wouldn't be eating anything straight out of the fridge. The funny thing is I used to always be so cold but now, I'm always on the warm side. Maybe the more you eat this way your temp balances out. :0)

  • When I first gave up animal products I felt much better and happier. My spirits just shot up. My brother and husband were both vegans before me. They didn't push me, they simply showed by example which was smart. My brother said I felt better because the diet was healthier. The hubby had a more spiritual approach. He said I was happier because I was no longer consuming the pain and misery of the animals. I think they're both right.

  • @isabelzavoranu I agree! So happy to hear you're feeling better and happier!

  • Really inspiring... I got the 80/10/10 diet book 2 days ago and will start my new life eating raw foods now.

  • what about a bite of beef burgger? lol

  • what can i have for a hot drink? for cold drinks, should i be drinking only water?

  • @nebech01 Fresh water is always best. Some other drink options are fresh pressed orange juice or fresh coconut water. Since nothing is heated when following 811, hot drinks aren't considered. If you live in a cold climate and need something hot, then warm water would be okay. Of course, it's all up to you...these are just guidelines for the best possible outcome. :0)

  • does soya milk consider part of the raw food vegan diet??? it has a bit of preservatives in it, but can i take it with fresh fruits or should i avoid it???

  • @laura000883 You're probably better off without it. It's not part of a low fat, raw vegan diet. My personal experience with soy is that it affects the hormones because it's an estrogen rich food. If you needed some sort of milk alternative, I would go for almond, rice, oat or a low fat coconut milk. And, definitely watch out for preservatives. On this diet, you don't really need any sort of "milk." :0)

  • @83carp1 I agree with you 100% that good health comes from more than just diet alone. That's what this channel is all about. :0)

  • @83carp1 It would be an assumption if I hadn't spent years experimenting with my diet and trying everything possible. Once I removed cooked food and all my symptoms went away, that spoke volumes. When I added cooked food back and all the symptoms came back, it's a strong chance that it's all related. Yes, to all questions except for the stress question. All of these points are very important, plus I would add a few things to this list. I completely understand this diet is not for everyone.

  • @83carp1 These days I have no desire for cooked food. Everyone's reason is different but my biggest reason for not wanting to eat cooked food was the way it made me feel. I never felt well after eating it & I noticed it was a direct contributor to my low mood, menstrual cramps, headaches, getting sick several times a year, as well as many other issues. If you feel great & you're thriving completely symptom free eating animal products & other cooked foods, then you're a rare & lucky person. :0)

  • Do your cravings get easier? I know you have been doing this for a few years now.

  • @shonhubble Yes, I have no cravings for cooked food at all. It's basically foreign matter to me, kind of like a bowl full of marbles, they look pretty but I have no desire to put them in my mouth. It definitely gets easier. :0)

  • @83carp1 Why would you say f**k raw food if you're eating heaps of it. That's so silly. No one is saying you should deprive yourself. It's not about living to be 100, it's about living a high quality life, full of energy & motivation, free of sickness & disease. What good is living until you're 70 if you're riddled with arthritis pain, having strokes & heart attacks or suffering from cancer or diabetes. That just makes this short life absolutely miserable! Eat what you want & be happy!

  • how does your body cope with the low fat and hormones..

  • @bigbobabc123 Better than ever before. My hormones are extremely balanced and my cycles are smooth & comfortable. :0)

  • :/ What about people that are doing heavy weight lifting/ strength training? The low amount of protein on this diet could be harmful to their training and healing afterwards, couldn't it?

  • @xroflknifex "Bodybuilders following the 80/10/10 program have found that if they supply sufficient calories from carbohydrate, their protein needs go down dramatically, & their energy to train & their muscular growth both increase." Dr. Doug Graham from The 80/10/10 Diet. Our needs for protein are much less than what we've been taught. It's carbohydrates that our bodies really need to function best. Yes, protein is necessary but not more than 10%. So many athletes thrive on this diet.

  • @rawsynergytv oh okay, that makes sense- ive heard lots of good things about body building on a regular raw vegan diet

  • Can I lose weight fast doing this??? U inspired me

  • @dcr2725 Yes, if you need to lose weight and you follow this lifestyle, your body will naturally become it's ideal weight. Happy to hear you're inspired!

  • @dcr2725 Yes, if you need to lose weight and you follow this lifestyle, your body should naturally become it's ideal weight. Happy to hear you're inspired!

  • If you want to be raw go ahead but don't you dare convince other innocent people that this is healthy

  • @belrich08 Why wouldn't I share something that's changed my life and my health so profoundly for the better? Just because you don't agree with it, doesn't make it wrong or bad. All of my health problems vanished and never returned. The same thing has happened for all my friends who eat a low fat, high carb, raw vegan diet. So how is it that it's not healthy, when I'm healthier than I've ever been in my life?

  • @belrich08 wow, that's possibly the funniest comment I've ever read!

  • Is it better to eat one kind of fruit at a time in a large amount or can i eat half a cantelope a couple oranges and a pear?? PLEASE HELP

  • @mari143823 Yes, it is better to mono fruit, but eating several fruits at the same time isn't bad. However, you may want to consider proper food combining when mixing foods together for best digestion. Typically, melons are eaten alone, acid fruits are best when consumed with other acid or sub-acid fruits, sweet fruits with other sweet or sub-acid fruits, fats don't mix well with sweet fruits, and greens go well with just about everything. Google the web for some raw food combining charts. hth

  • Hi, I have a question... I've been raw for a little bit now (raw vegan).. And I'm wondering besides the enzymes, what else is different with cooking my vegan food rather than just eating it raw?

  • @AshleyApathyLikesLOL When food is heated, it destroys many of the vital nutrients, not just the enzymes. Dr. Graham says "Cooking food denatures the proteins, renders the fats carcinogenic, & caramelizes the carbohydrates." There are studies that show when cooked food is introduced into the bloodstream, the immune system often responds to it the same way it would respond to viruses & bacteria. I can confirm this from personal experience.

  • @rawsynergytv Oh yeah! I forgot about that! Thank you for reminding me :)

  • you are an inspiration thank you for this video.

  • @Spagoochy You're welcome! Thank you for your wonderful comment. :0)

  • @rawsynergytv no problem! you and lizyarthur have helped increase my will power so much! i was not even able to give up chocolate for over 2 days for lent and now i've been raw vegan for 6! thanks soo much xx do u eat nuts or raisins btw?

  • @Spagoochy That's so great to hear. Congratulations! I adore Liz...she's a sweetheart! I don't usually eat nuts or raisins. I prefer fresh fruits and greens best. XO

  • Thank you so much sis. I am making a huge turnaround with my "way of eating" and I so love the new me! I thank you for sharing your experiences and all of your information (I'm new to your channel), you are apprecaited! PLEASE keep posting!

  • @chamogul Thank you so much for sharing...it's great to hear. I appreciate your kind comments. :0)

  • Brilliant video!so helpful..

  • @Kwa17 Thank you very much. So happy you find it helpful. :0)

  • @rawsynergytv Hey I was just wondering in the beginning did you fall off the diet often? and how long did it take you to get where you are today.I'm just curious because I've been raw for so long and fallen off back to eating pizza, chocolate and such.I

  • @Kwa17 I never ate a cooked meal but there were times when I just needed a few bites of something like steamed veggies, popcorn & especially a vinegar salad dressing, which was VERY hard for me to give up. I just knew if I gave in to a cooked meal that I would face serious consequences the next day so I never allowed myself to do it. I spent too many years suffering & couldn't handle one more day. It took less than a year to realize even a few bites were causing issues & that ended it.

  • I agree with everything you are saying. Cooked food is so heavy, and makes me drowsy. Only problem is at night time, If I skip cooked food, I feel wide awake and not able to sleep more than 5 hours. I need to figure out a way not to be wide awake at night if I go 100% raw.

  • @yogikanna Yes, eliminating cooked food from the diet frees up a lot of energy. It can take a little while for the body to find a natural balance. You might want to try having fruit during the day and having some overt fat with your last meal such as a salad with avocado or nuts. Or you could try having denser fruits at the end of the day like bananas and dates. No matter what you do, it's highly likely that after a while your body will become calmer in the evening. I went through this also.

  • yes, yes, yes, 100 % correct, I couldn't agree with you more, raw foods, are, in my opinion, like healing foods, the rest of the foods lead to destruction in the body.

  • @jimmytube177 Amen!

  • You are so right about raw food making you feel good, and that cooked food can make you fall right off the wagon. i didnt believe it would ever happen to me. I was 100% raw for about 1.5 months, lost 20 lbs and was feeling really really good. I cooked my husband spaghetti one night and tasted the sauce to see if i did a good job, thinking i could handle it, and boy was i wrong. Since that day (11 days ago) i dont know how to go back. I am going to try so hard because the health is worth it

  • @kmaven04 Don't feel bad. This happens to most people who first go raw. Be kind to yourself and start each day fresh. You'll get there! XO

  • I really want to be a raw vegan because I have heard and read about all the benefits. I also have a few emotional and health problems that I just don't want anymore. But the main problem that I have is that I still live with my parents, so I can't eat what I want to without my parents questioning it and just simply not allowing me to eat raw. They don't understand or believe the benefits of the raw vegan diet.

  • @biitersweettt That can be really frustrating. What I would do, is eat as much raw food as I could get away with and if I was forced to eat cooked foods, request it be vegan, if possible. Just eat a lot of fruit and munch on celery, cucumbers and try to eat lots of green salads. Every doctor will tell you to eat more fruits and vegetables, so it will be hard for your parents to argue against that. Plus, there are many ways to positively influence your parents, without them even realizing. :0)

  • I love the passion in this video, but raw foods are not a miracle or a magic wand. They do not rid one of all their life's problems. They are a solid foundation for living life, but in my opinion over-hyping raw foods will guarantee disappointment and abandonment. Every B.S. diet out there makes passionate and astonishing claims about its benefits too.

  • @alienmeetworld I agree, they're not a miracle or magic wand but they do allow the body to function in a way that most people today aren't familiar with. When you make a change & follow this lifestyle, the results can be very dramatic. I'm not telling people it's going to cure their diseases, I'm just telling them what it did for me and sharing the possibility of what it can do for them. Everyone I know on this diet, has very similar results to mine & they can't help but share their excitement.

  • @rawsynergytv Yeah, I definitely understand wanting to share the excitement, and I agree it is likely most common western diseases will start reversing. You make a good point that a fully functional and healthy body as people age is a pretty foreign concept. Fortunately we can heavily influence that with eating habits :)

  • you look very beautiful and healthy

  • okay fuck chemotherapy im just going to eat some raw vegetables...........

one carrot and the cancers gone i wonder if it works on facial deformations

  • @560287144602817 I hate to say it but that's just a dumb, silly comment. I don't at all mean that you're dumb or silly but I think you've misunderstood some things. People have been successful treating cancers with fruit diets (I don't know where the carrot would come in, carrots aren't optimal for this diet) but I'm sure there have also been people who have succesfully treated their cancer with a hotdog and goulash diet. No one would truthfully claim that low fat raw vegan cures diseases....

  • @560287144602817 (comment was too long, lol ;))...The reason why it's so highly recommended is that it's so very unlikely to create a toxic body with a fruit diet. You're much more likely to be healthy and stay healthy. If you have success eating lots of meat and just a little cooked veg, then I'm very happy for you and I hope you have continued success. People who follow 80/10/10 tend to be very passionate about it, and I think that kind of shows how dramatically it can change a person's life.

  • So even eating cooked healthy whole foods, like plain quinoa, rice, steamed veggies is bad?

  • @xsliceofheavenx No, it's not bad at all, it's just that eating whole, fresh, ripe, raw foods in their natural state is ideal for optimum health and vitality. I was a vegetarian for almost two years and caught every cold and flu that came around and never had energy or motivation. I've been eating raw food for over a year and a half now and haven't been sick once. That's never happened to me. Plus, all of my other health issues have vanished. That's why I'm so passionate about this diet. :o)

  • @rawsynergytv Thats great!! I do eat only fruit everyday, its been a while since I ate cooked, I only eat quinoa or cooked veggie every now and then , but I wanted to eat raw raice , its just that the grains, legumes and some veggies are hard to digest it raw. Is soaked rice easy to digest?? Im just wondering if raw rice is different from cooked rice? and if raw rice will make you fat or cooked rice will make you fat?

  • @xsliceofheavenx I don't recommend eating raw rice. It's very difficult to digest. If you must eat it, make sure it's cooked really well for best digestion. I don't believe rice will make you fat, I believe it's the fat most people put on the rice that makes a person fat. Still, fruit and greens are the most optimal. :o)

  • @rawsynergytv if you were getting sick all the time maybe it had nothing to do with your diet my family raised pigs and beef and that was all i ate with a few vegetables on the side and i have only ever had colds never get the flu never had a single infection even in those tiny little cuts never get tired no headaches wake up and get straight into work im awake 18 hours a day everyday its preservatives that fuck it up

  • This obsession with food is too much. Don't you think it is some sort of eating disorder to be obsessing on food all the time and needing to have control over your food intake? The 'emotional aspect of eating'??? Hmmmmm. Horseshit!

  • So, when you go to these events, what do you order to eat?

  • @Caitlin0995 Either a fruit plate, a bed of greens topped with fruit or if they don't have something I can eat, I'll bring my own food. However, if it's someplace where bringing my own food isn't appropriate, I'll just eat before I go and order a green salad if I get hungry. So far, I've never run into a problem.

  • (from my other comment) usually the V8 vegitable and fruit juice one). After Cross Country: Banana or CLIF Bar. Dinner: Pretty much varies from day-to-day, but usally a vegitable stir fry with rice or noodles, a fruit, and a vegitable.

Also, I'm still in school (middle school :/) so my body isn't all the way developed, so should I stick to eating cooked foods for a few years? Just to make sure?

Could you please tell me how i'm doing? Thanks :)

  • @UmbrellaSummerx3 The only issue I see is the bar because the first ingredient is sugar & I think whole foods are better than processed, and, the V8 because of the high amount of sodium. Other than that, it looks like you're doing well. I'm not an expert here, so please check with a healthcare professional who is knowledgable about the vegan diet. Since you're still growing, your caloric & fat needs are different than an adult but I don't know what they are. So be sure to check on that. :o)

  • Hey(: I am a vegan, but I really don't get why cooked food is bad for you...? I do eat a lot of raw foods, yet I still feel like what you said on raw food? Of course, I don't know EXACTLY what you feel like, but from what you are saying(: Here is my daily diet (usually) ... Breakfast: Toasted whole grain bagel w/ peanut butter + flaxseeds, grapes, nectarine or apple. Snack: CLIF Bar. Lunch: Nectarine or apple, CLIF Bar, raw carots and green beans, fruit juice (next comment ;) )

  • this shit is retarded. jesus ate cooked food

  • @gino26gman If you don't like it, why are you watching????

  • @rawsynergytv cause ur hot but the shit ur saying is kinda dumb

  • @gino26gman It's only dumb to those who are apathetic and uninformed. There are others who find this information extremely helpful.

  • @gino26gman So did Hitler, whats your point?

  • @AdmiralGanja420 jesus was perfect

  • What are your feelings on dried fruit? I usually buy some dired fruit from the local market each week and like to eat them alone or in a salad. I watched your ¨What´s in my fridge¨ video and I didn´t see any dried fruits... I love your energy, btw! xoxo

    Thanks!

    Liz (:

  • @LizYArtur Thank you for your kind words, Liz. :o) I don't typically eat dried fruits and they're not really ideal on a low fat raw vegan diet. Fresh is always best, however, dried fruits are far better than junk foods and can be helpful when traveling and quality fruits aren't available.

  • thanks!!

  • Thank you for your video and great tips. You are a truly inspiration! I sit here puffy in my face, feeling fat and lethargic (spelling?), yes, I am feeling quite awful, and I remember with longing how good I felt after some weeks going raw: glowing skin, no pain in my body and feeling happier. That was in the beginning of 2009, then I "lost" it. Now I try to go raw again, mostly fruit, low fat. Videos like yours really give me motivation and inspiration! You are great!

  • @magicamoon You're welcome. I'm so happy you find inspiration here. Thank you for your wonderful comments. Sending lots of good thoughts your way for vibrant health and feeling amazing!

  • do you do any regular exercise??? Because many people on the raw vegan diet (some 80/10/10) seem to be very keen on exercising everyday. In your other video, you said that you eat around 2000~2350kcals a day. I'm scared of gaining weight if i eat as much as you!

  • @minttychoc My usual routine is an hour of yoga and meditation every morning and a 1 hour walk, 3 times a week. Lately I've been really busy and have slacked a bit on the exercise but I feel so much better when I do. It's really an important part of being healthy and feeling good. If you follow this diet properly you won't gain weight. It's impossible to get fat on this diet. You'll feel so good if you eat enough calories and your body will be balanced and look great!

  • You are most welcome rawsynergytv.... I forgot to mention that brown rice and brocoli sat on my stomach like a rock for hrs... Dr. Doug says grains have a cutting effect like glass in the intestines/body.....i felt it...... Hard lesson learned... My advice to anyone with gut/candida issues and you're 80 ten tenin... Don't give into a grain craving, the aftermath is much more painful. IT'S NOT WORTH IT..

  • I recently gave into a cooked food craving..thought i'd play it safe.. Browm rice and steamed brocoli.. My taste buds were so disappointed..which is a great thing.. The brown rice tasted burnt...no nutty flav... Brocoli was short on flav and long on funky aroma.. 80 10 10 rocks!

  • @Angelicalovessolur This is a great post, I love it. Thank you for sharing. I agree, 80/10/10 totally Rocks!

  • i think i can do 80/10/10 but i'm worried about what i will do when i have children someday. I want to be able to give my kids a birthday cake etc. i don't want my kids to be teased because they have never had spaghetti. I don't want to be some wacko raw foodist. I want people to think i'm healthy and balanced and not an extremist. even though i truly believe in 80/10/10. Im starting to wonder if the emotionally aspect will be too stressful being 80/10/10. Being social is so important to me.

  • @zestrus11 This is a natural reaction for most when first looking at this diet. Please don't make a big deal of it and put so much pressure on yourself. Have fun with it & do it for your health & well being. Take it one step at a time & do as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. Eat what makes you feel good & balanced. Take delight that there's no 811 police or firing squad. Do what feels right for you. You can still be social. It's only in our minds that we feel we can't. ♥

  • How many times did you say cooked foods in this vid? lol :D great vid.

  • thanks for this. inspirational...

  • Thank you so much for your passion and honesty! You are an inspiration to us new to raw foods :)

  • Thank you, great advice! ill think of the benefits rather than what im missing out of.

    i enjoy all your vids

    take care xo

  • Your are so inspiring, truly an amazing person! Great Job and please keep posting!!

  • wow so much good imfo you are so gorgeous and smart and healthy im inlove stay sweet dont change.sweet get it fruterian.

  • great advice - you are correct the days when i get in enough fruit I feel much better. The days when i cant due to lack of ripe fruit I dont feel like doing as much. How do you deal with the issue of people questioning the way you eat and people thinking your crazy lol?

  • @RawTruth100

It's easy for me because I literally cannot digest "regular" food. My digestive system began to work properly after making the switch to 80/10/10. So, they really don't have a comeback for this. I also tell people how much this diet has changed my life for the better. I run down the list of all the problems that have disappeared. It's so hard for them to give me hell after that. :o)

So glad you made the connection with eating enough fruit. It's so important.

  • Inspiring thank you

  • I tried food combining for a short while and I definitely noticed a huge difference in how I felt.

  • You are very beautiful! Keep up the good fight, I am right there with you. I am starting a juice fast tomorrow.

    Much love,

    Aaron Hicks

  • Thank you for the information. I've been raw for about 10 months now and loving it. I am naturally moving more and more toward low-fat, raw, tendencies and I'm ready to give 80/10/10 an honest try. I'm excited! Your enthusiasm and encouragement inspires me!

  • great vid, you are awesome for posting on youtube - more people need to talk up the diet and get the snowball rolling - great work!!

  • Great advice! Thanks! :-)

  • thank you for this! i want to feel life and not be numbed by food!

  • Great Video

Whenever I eat "cooked food," it's usually some sort of bread item with veggies, like a veggie pizza. Seems like the "cooked food" I'm addicted to is all the stuff that has been processed. Crackers, breads, cheeses, corn chips, etc.. I would call it a processed foods addiction because we know they put various ingredients in there to keep the people coming back for more. What do you think about Cooked Quinoa with veggies as some sort of transition?

  • I say, whatever it takes to transition yourself, is what you should do. Everyone is different.

I started out by doing a 21 day food cleanse, where you begin eliminating certain foods at different stages of the cleanse, without the intention of going raw but just cleansing. When you get to the 11th day it's only water and then you go backward adding foods back in. As I started adding the grains and other foods back in, my body was having none of it and I decided raw was the only way I could go.

  • So, if cooked quinoa satisfies your cravings so you're not eating pizza and chips and it gets you to a point where you can finally go completely raw, then do it. Just continue adding a high volume of raw food as you go. The more raw foods you add to your diet, the more you'll get used to it and the easier it'll be to transition. You have my full support! :o)

  • I completely agree with you. How long have you been on 80/10/10?

  • It's coming up on 5 months since I transitioned to 80/10/10. The high fat raw diet just wasn't working for me. Thankfully, my body forced me into the low fat raw diet. :o)

  • Great message thank you so much, I always notice if I have something cooked I feel drained and heavy. My challange is not having fresh veggies from my garden since its winter and having to settle for veggies from the grocery store which dont taste nearly as good. I just start making pecan burgers and it was really good , its been awhile since I made them. I also need to get another reciepe book with more choices. Thanks again, I think I will make a vid telling people about you. Thank you

  • Oh I know - fresh, homegrown fruit and veggies are the BEST!

Thank you so much for your kind words. That's so sweet of you to spread the word.

I used to make a lot of recipes too. Now, I just eat a lot of fruit and greens. It's so easy because there's so little preparation and quick clean up! But I understand if you're in a location where fresh fruit is hard to come by. That's a tough one.

  • great video ! :D really helped

now I'm just waiting for the workout video :D

  • Thank you. I'm happy it was helpful.

Until the workout video arrives, make sure you get your body moving every day. Walk, run, swim, DANCE (my fave!), yoga, do whatever you love to do, so you'll have fun doing it every day. :o)

  • Awesome video!!! Thanks, I really needed this video!

  • Thank you. I'm so glad it's what you needed. :o)

  • also been meaning to ask you, what do you think about food combinding?

  • I'm very much a fan of food combining. I have a very sensitive digestive system and food combining makes a HUGE difference in how I feel. I want to do a video about this soon but it's a major undertaking because there's so much information to convey.

  • im so glad to see you again! i ate some cooked yesterday a little because i didnt eat enough fruit :(

  • You're so sweet!

Don't be hard on yourself, sometimes it takes a while. It'll get easier. :o)
