  • Beautiful.

  • I pray that you will find God. Jesus gave YOU a gift. Please find it.

  • best somg erer

  • hey_ãñYÓÑe_wäñnA_chÃt_wìth_me_Î_fÈel_sÖ_løñèlý_tòÐãY¤

  • I just found out that Cat Stevens wrote this song. I remember singing this song is church camp and I thought someone just put music to a hymnal. I also listened to a few of his other songs from the 1970s for the first time. I noticed so many comments are about his religion. I think Yusef is strong enough not to take all this personally but use his fame to help Americans see Islam in a different light than what we are taught on the news.

  • Peace is a good thing no doubt...but crying peace, peace when there is no peace is a very dangerous thing...praising God is a very good thing, but praising a little"g", if you will, is even more dangerous...we must know for certain that we are praising the God of the Universe and not a "g" that we have mistakenly fallen into by lack of discernment or tradition of family...awesome song...

  • we sing this song in my church sometimes

  • My ever favorite song when I was a kid back then in Manila. This was played during afternoons in Manila radio..

  • a Christian hymn

pity Stevens became a muslim and went on to embrace hatred kill Rushdie etc

Islam has broken him on the first morning

death threats are flourishing like a new war

  • @redshirtish I didnt realise that being a moslem makes someone a 'kill Rushdie' campaigner. You sound like one minority Christian bigot with a loathing for 'other' religions who, fortunately, have only minorities of bigots as well. Rid religion out of schools.like they have in Moslem Turkey ( Allah bless Ataturk ) and Catholic France ( God bless the French Revolution ) and maybe we'll all get it that 'Mine is the sunlight' and that there is no religion...only human imagination and fairies.

  • Who is the backup singer? The vocal accompaniment?

  • this could be Spinozas god- the divine in the natural miracle of science in nature.

  • I love this song, it reminds me to stop and smell the roses and appreciate the beauty that is this wonderful world we all rush through everyday

  • DEWFALL on the first grass.

If you're gonna do the lyrics, please get'em right.

  • WHO the f are YOU? No one has to give you any proof dick. You don't think singers can be visious? God ARE YOU STUPID! All he has to do is say he agr4ees with killers ore because he makes millions he can give money to the bad guys. Grow a set of balls. 9/11 was done by really sweet guys and the whole USA bent over backwards to help them.

  • @Dallouez Who did the 9/11?????.Can you really know?

  • @MHZuaiter1 Stupid! Get a book or life are you related to Rosie?

  • @Dallouez no need to be nasty. I'm just asking an innocent question to which you have no answer. Mind you I read many books, one of them says that back in 1948 a B-25 bomber hit the 79th floor of the Empire State building but nothing happened.??. Perhaps it is who needs a lot of reading and thinking,

  • gracias por esta cancion

  • im as close as to an atheist as there is.. and i still love this song.. it does calm one's soul.. whatever you believe in (or in my case not)

there are a few typo's in the lyrics btw..

  • @ralvarados21 Why does anyone assume this is a "religious" song or even a "hymn." Because of the word "praise"? It's a song reveling in life and celebrating it. Why does religion need to be brought into it at all?

  • @Gatsby999888 well everyone assumes that cause it is in fact sung in church.. at least in episcopal and catholic churches..

  • @ralvarados21 Correct...and also sang in Lutheran churches as well....

  • @ralvarados21 I feel exactly the same. It makes me feel good.

  • @ralvarados21: Nice to see I'm not the only atheist who enjoys this song! :3 My mom used to sing it to me when I was little. It holds a lot of wonderful memories from a simpler time within its lovely lyrics and melody.

  • Say what you will about Cat's (Yusuf's) political/religious stances, the message is the same. I sing this song at Catholic Mass. More importantly, I sing it alone in my garden and to my son. It is a joyous song even to my atheist sister. Everyone I know seems to find solace in the lyrics. Must be a good thing. THAT is art.

  • This was one of my favorite songs in the early seventies, knowing it was a song about the Creator and His creation. I didn't know at the time that Cat was singing a Christian hymn. By the way, these are not the correct lyrics.

  • this piece of music was interpreted by ellen greene in Pushing daisies...great music...wonderful.

  • One of the first songs I learned when I was learning English. I still sing it, and I still think it's one of the best English-language songs I ever heard. I like this so much, I would like this to be played at my funeral.

Greetings from Mexico to all fans.

  • ok, tell us when you died :-D :-D :-D

  • : ) Thanks for making laugh today. Haven't you thought about it? Everyone's so gloomy at funerals. Wouldn't it be a nice touch to play soft music like this one? And by the way, I will invite you to my funeral, if you keep in touch, of course.

    :-D

  • hutru elchlage! judgekju!

  • thank for this song, i love all cat stevens musica, besides i love him. Great!!!

  • E' davvero un inno stupendo scritto da Eleanore Cat Stiven l'ha solo cantato in maniera splendida devodire con la sua bella pronuncia.

Chissa perchè l'inglese e l'americano come lingue mi fanno tenerezza.

    Grazie per questa magnifica interpretazione

    Milena

  • This song and a prayer for peace and love, Thank you for sharing

  • hm.. to that guy who wrote about that yusuf is cooperating with al qaida... i think his religion or political attitude (hope thats the right word ^^) have nothing to do with this song (or his music at all)! and we dont support him financial with hearing it on youtube...

    nice song, 5 stars

  • Wonderful, wonderful...a classic! Thank you!
