Wow, this series used to scare me to where I couldn't sleep at night in the 90s when I was growing up. Even now at 22 I still have trouble with this and have to pause it before the big reveal. The childhood memories are too much at times. Thank God I'm not the only one, at least. While it was a powerful ad campaign, I'm relieved that they've rarely aired in the past several years here in Tampa or on cable that I've seen.
@BigRedTampa I'm 22 as well. Last time I remember seeing one of these commercials was back around the holiday Season of 2004. I guess they retired the campaign. These ads scared me too. I remember around the summer of 1999 they showed them during daytime when I was at home by myself during the day and they really spooked me.
These ones are so spooky, they get stuck in your head. I hated these commercials and as I got older learned to dive for the remote and change the channel before the reveal.
Man, these "killed by a drunk driver" videos used to scare the crap out of me. They start off all innocent with these home videos, and then BAM! This person is dead!

Glad to see I'm not the only one. They would creep me out too. The way it fades to white makes it seem like a ghost or something.
