Ayn Rand is my hero. I have studied everything from her philosophy for the last 15 years. There is something so wrong about what Mr. Brook says. Israel is a religious state, a police state and is the most strategic trade-route in the world.

How can anyone ignore these facts?

How about some proof for these "facts"? And please explain what exactly you mean by "religious state" and "police state".

When I think of a police state I think of widespread and extraordinary abridgments of individual liberty (e.g. North Korea). When I think of a religious state I think of a state ruled by a religious hierarchy (e.g the Papacy of the Middle Ages). Is this what you mean? Or do you mean there are SOME limitations on liberty and SOME religious aspects to their government?

Mr. Brook seems to have an agenda and often sides with the collectivist group think of War War War.

There is no self-defense in this case. The media which is owned or heavily influenced by the military industrial complex (GE is a defense contractor and owns NBC / MSNBC for example) does not give honest news.

Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction and Mr. Brook was also decrying "SELF DEFENSE" back then.

Why are you evading? Why do you not explain your assertion that Israel is a "police state" and "religious state"? Such an assertion requires that you provide at least some evidence. Are you going to demand proof from others but not from yourself?

When you assert something you must give SOME REASON for believing it, otherwise it literally can have no meaning because you have not connected it to reality.

Which culture? If the Fundamentalist Islamic one, then that most certainly deserves to be destroyed. If, however, you mean mid-east culture in general, then I do not think Yaron Brook is advocating that. I am certainly not.

Ideally you should not be forced to pay taxes, but the fact is it will not go away anytime soon. Legitimate issues of national defense will arise in the meantime.

This being said, you still have not provided any evidence for Israel being a religious police state.

As for proof of the Iranian threat. There is the nuclear program, the funding of Hamas and Hezbollah (who have killed hundreds of Americans and Israels), their support for militias in Iraq (who have killed many more), and the fact that they are the idealogical center of the the Shia Islamists. There is also the billions of dollars of oil they stole from western companies that made those oil fields profitable in the first place.

@thbyrnes It is self defence, because the Iranian regime, for many years, has been explicitly trying to achieve world domination. They have funded many terrorist organizations in the middle east and have been responsible for many attacks on US troops.

Furthermore, they committed an act of war when they took over the US embassy decades ago.

Why should we wait for Iran to get nuclear weapons when it has been doing everything in its power to destroy this country for decades.

Mr. Brook has no right to advocate violence. Ms. Rand was very clear on the matter. A man's loyalty should not be to the agenda of corporate tribalism (Washington, London, Rome)... but rather to individual rights.

To the British Crown, which has for centuries warred over the Middle-East, this fight is about controlling trade-routes and commodities traded therein.

The problem with trying to instigate a revolution or get the internationals community to bully Iran into stopping is that, in both cases the outcome is very unknown. In a revolution, we could end up with something even worse. If we just bullied them, then they would not be cowed to act in the future. The only real choice to end the regime militarily, giving them a choice, "Our way or the fuckin' highway, buddy." To be honest, I think we would actually have a lot less casualties this way.

(Continued) It wouldn't be all that hard, either. Iran is not Nazi Germany. They are not exactly a worthy enemy of the current U.S. Military. Iraq failed like it has because it was restricted with inane Rules of Engagement, and generally used in a way that is appalling. If it was given a real ROE, and used properly, we could have Iraq under U.S. control in under a week, with minimal casualties. After that, it's just a matter of showing the Iranians that our way is better than the alternative.

Until Iran has been convinced that a nuclear weapons option will not be tolerated, Iran's leadership will not choose otherwise.
