frank sutton was one funny actor.shame he died so young.he is buried in clarksville tn.his headstone is piss poor looking for such a famous man.his family should have done better than that.
In real life, Frank Sutton was a judo expert. In this and a few other episodes, Sutton displays some of his martial arts expertise as well as has fellow actors to "flip him" on occasion.
i recall a surreal moment from one episode of this show - - sgt. carter, apparently feeling 2 inches tall, is actually reduced to a physical stature of 2 inches in height. i think it happens at the very end of the episode. which episode is that?
I saw Gomer Pyle in New Orleans in 1973 at the Mardi Gras. He was in a restaurant where I was eating. I walked over to him and told him that I had watched him for years and he was one of my favorite actors and extended my hand to shake hands with him. He ignored me and would not shake hands. The faggot is a real prick. Every time I see him now I think of what an asshole he is.
Actually, I'm studying Aikido right now (no, I'm no good at it), and I have to say it's hard to flip over like Sgt. Carter just did. It's scary, and it hurts.
Yes, even Seargeant Carter. Just love watching a male t.v. icon of machoism feeling shameful after being flipped by a pretty girl! USMC: "The Few. The Proud, The Ashamed."
This show was funny. I hate the new "editing" and "reworking" the dvds and reruns have. No original music and too much has been cut out... If you couldn't tell I really like this series! But it should be presented in original form!

Gomer Pyle was one of the funniest shows around. They need to come up with more shows like this nowadays.

Yeh, he definately sounds gay, and anyone who thinks he doesn't probably talks like him, knows they do, and is in denial of their own love for cock.

The host is played by veteran announcer/host {and formerly Groucho Marx's foil on "YOU BET YOUR LIFE"} George Fenneman

He was also on The Home Savings Commercials with the late Harry Von Zell. Both regulars on The Burns and Allen Show.

Of course, Gomer was often on the 'receiving end' in real life.
