This Michael Moore presentation wasn't too bad. He says making money from an invention, like the light bulb, is valuable and that inventors should reap their reward. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems that Michael doesn't care for the investors - the people that gave the inventors the money to build their invention in the first place. This Michael Moore presentation wasn't too bad. He says making money from an invention, like the light bulb, is valuable and that inventors should reap their reward. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems that Michael doesn't care for the investors - the people that gave the inventors the money to build their invention in the first place. @jaspermatty Wallstreet did not encourage people to borrow money for houses they couldn't afford. Wallstreet didn't increase the percentage of sub-prime mortgages banks HAD to write. Wallstreet didn't lower borrowing requirements again and again. Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Democrats did that.
Congress changed the mark-to-market rule such that when Merrill Lynch had to sell $30B in mortagages @ $0.22 on the dollar it cost the rest of the banks hundreds of billions overnight. Bubble Burst.

My vague preconception was that Moore was a bit of a nut. He's mostly right here. He used to be as guilty as his detractors of playing word games around the word "capitalism", but he's getting away from that.
Nothing will be gained from correctly or incorrectly labeling the problem or the solution as "capitalism". First, what we have is regulated (not enough) free market. Second, ideological names are vague and carry baggage. Concrete policies and regulations are what should be talked about.
