LOL at the US getting all excited about ONE win after they get destroyed as usual at EVO. The Japanese players doesn't even care, the top ten Japanese players beat the US players 59 out of 60 times, the reason they don't post the videos on Youtube is because they think the US players are free.
@jkksung Damn someone hates the US. Tokido himself said after this tournament he was afraid to face PR Rog because of how well he played. Why wouldn't the US cheer for a hometown favorite in PR Rog (even though he himself is Puerto Rican) There is a reason players like Daigo have stated that they prefer the American scene... because of all the hype and player involvement in tournaments.
What most people don't realize is that this match IS NOT in Akumas favor. Its pretty ridiculous how people believe this. Pr Rog and Tokido have said themselves that this is an even match. As long as they are both standing Rog has the advantage with his better walk speed, better footsies, and better normals overall. But Akuma gets a slight advantage when he knocks Rog down, which goes for 75% of the cast. Pr Rog showed how great him AND his character is during this set. He outclassed Tokido.
Tokido got mindraped after the loss he panicked and never got back on his feet, just shows you how human Japanese players are. Agree with @dataznguy5 why didn't the guy just have something to drink if his voice kept cracking. Awkward moment when trophy popped up on screen. That happened to me and it put my off when I was playing online I was one win away from my getting my winning streak trophy and the super move trophy popped up and I lost the final round, got so angry wanted to kick my PS3
@rayxx1682 In the heat of the battle something like that screwed up my concentration, didn't actually kick my console or destroy my pad. If I did it would be to costly to replace, if I was using a cheap third-party pad I might have
Hands down one of my favorite all time sets, in ANY game. I got so hype watching this shit live and to this day, I rewatched the whole set at least 15 times, and I feel the hype each time. Great play by both players but even more so from Eduardo. Good shit.
For all the people who don't understand. This match is an absolute nightmare for Balrog. His only way out of all of Akuma's option selects and Vortexs is to block and tech correctly. Every option Balrog has to get out is punishable except block if Tokido reacts correctly or does them correctly. You have to make a ton of reads and capitalize on every mistake Akuma makes because that is your only time to really get in. The US scene always loses to major Japanese players. This match was a big deal.
It's so great to see, that even in the Grand Finals of a major, PR Rog and Tokido manage to share a good laugh after almost every match. Not getting salty or whatever, just having fun with the game, the way it should be.
@kngwa43 I believe all games has its own difficulties, every game is different. you cannot compare difficulty however you define it. if you can say something is easy, u're just better at it. but since i say it's easy, why not we see you get into some competition matches and we can watch you on youtube :)
Why is it whenever I watch a great street fighter match, some tekken or bb fan boy has to ruin the comment box. Gtfo with that cheesy 10 hit target combo system that my cat can execute. Don't forget to do a crouching otg infinite to finish the round lol
@kornstew You'd be surprised how many SF fanboys pollute other vids. Also, if you knew anything about tekken, you'd know how useless 10-hit strings are, so that was a fail response. If you want to talk about difficulty, then SSF4 doesn't even compare to T6:BR, BB:CS, VF5:FT, and KOFXIII (though its still better than SC4, DOA4, Brawl, etc). Hell, even the guys at Capcom said SSF4 aint hard at all.
@GISADIDA I think he just the input normally, and the game auto-corrected the Ultra. I've seen SCHeartless(a good XBL Balrog player) inputs when he does something similar. PR Rog did the ultra command as usual(while he was in the air), then hit the three kicks as soon as he hit the ground.
uncharacteristic play by Tokido (in a bad way). uncharacteristic play by PR Balrog (in a good way). In a first to ten or on any other day, Tokido woulda smashed PR Rog. but in any case, they both played magnificently.
@juju52291 You have no proof of this. If PR Rog is reading in any match like he was in this one, he has a chance to beat him again. You kiddies crack me up
@skiie perhaps smashed was an exaggeration. but really, Tokido is undoubtedly better than PR Rog. he showed signs of unfamiliarity (or at least a lack of practice) of the match up (got caught by that auto correct ultra, pretty obvious stuff). and Tokido sometimes panics and randomly teleports but it's really rare. not to mention the fact that if PR Rog flew to Japan and played their best, he wouldn't last very long.
@juju52291 it was two sets of 3-5 how many more matches do you fucking need? If PR balrog won the first to 10 you would say "alright ok first to 20". That should of been more than enough needed to stomp out any randomness that could of or may have happened. Everybody panics, but I do agree the match could be different if they meet again in AE.
@juju52291 Tokido being a better player than PR or not doesn't matter, PR reseted the bracket and beat Tokido on tournament day thats whats important. I personaly think if PR flew to japan he would do exceptionaly well compared to most U.S players, come to think of it PR would definately be up there with top japanese balrogs if not better. i recall momochi saying that IF PR went to japan he would be the best rog in japan mind you this is second information dont quote me on it.
Maybe Tokido is out of practice with Akuma because of SSF4AE... but still, from the looks of it, he was top of the game, except for the final round which he made so many mistakes. Nice play by DMG PR, not many USA players can say they actually beat Tokido in a big tournament.
@amitamar2 It's a double elimination tournament. If you lose one set, you're put in loser's bracket, which means you only have to lose one more set to be eliminated.

@jason24cf I'm just stating the facts, man. I'm a Street Fighter fan. Well not as much as I used to be. When I started playing Tekken, my love for SF just started to go downward. Its just not as technical as Tekken that's all. I also think thats why a lot of people stick with SF. Cause it doesnt require as much practice/skill verses Tekken. Its okay tho. You can keep ur simple input commands and super special moves (cheesy) that takes nothing to pull off. TTT2 is gonna be the BEST FIGHTER EVER!
@MadNice1 hm, I'm not hating on tekken, I'm a big fan of it but I definitely prefer SF. I can say, confidently, from playing both games for over 5 years, that the combos/links in the SF series take much more precision to pull off. Yes the combos in tekken are much longer in general, but the timings are a little less strict, not to mention all you need to do is hit your launcher and you're guaranteed an easy combo.
@kite0impulse If you were speaking about CvS2 or 3rd Strike, then I'd agree, but SF4, hell no. With plinking, negative edge and other shortcuts, even the hardest combos in SSF4 are really easy, since they take away any 1 frame links whatsoever. Also, even with the shortcuts in T6BR (like bound), you'll still whiff on the first mistake, where as in SSF4 you get at least 3 chances at it.
@freddiegibbs101 see. Even u seem to think so. Ur angry u didn't point it out 1st. Wow. Calm down dude. It's just a video game....(guarantee he starts cursing again)....loser.
@Shintroy actually tokido said in an interview after this match that he doesnt really like AE and its not that popular in Japan surprisingly. most ppl just hate yun and many players just stick to ssf4 on console. im sure most top players play AE but a lot of japanese ppl play console still. also rog and akuma were both somewhat nerfed in AE so its not telling who would win, imo it could go either way, just depends who's "On"
do americans ever go to japan for pro tournaments? I wonder what kind of commentary japanese give when americans made it to the finals against japanese
LOL at the US getting all excited about ONE win after they get destroyed as usual at EVO. The Japanese players doesn't even care, the top ten Japanese players beat the US players 59 out of 60 times, the reason they don't post the videos on Youtube is because they think the US players are free.

I really dont understand the hype here.
Tokido's the Top Akuma in AE now.. It's not that big of a deal if he loses in chocolate edition.
Its not like he would've lost if this was AE.
Shintroy 11 months ago
@Shintroy Lol.
Quebert69 11 months ago
@Shintroy actually tokido said in an interview after this match that he doesnt really like AE and its not that popular in Japan surprisingly. most ppl just hate yun and many players just stick to ssf4 on console. im sure most top players play AE but a lot of japanese ppl play console still. also rog and akuma were both somewhat nerfed in AE so its not telling who would win, imo it could go either way, just depends who's "On"
SuitedAces1 11 months ago
@Shintroy ye becuz gouki is such a different character in AE
L4K1NG 11 months ago
@Shintroy That means nothing since both characters are the same in AE.

do americans ever go to japan for pro tournaments? I wonder what kind of commentary japanese give when americans made it to the finals against japanese
evil99019 11 months ago
@evil99019 pretty much the same but japanese commentary is a bit more technical and less opinion
flipballaz93 11 months ago
God damn, commentators biased as all hell XD
Dre2Dee2 11 months ago
@Dre2Dee2 They are far from biased listen to some commentary, from this video.
"MVC3: Starbase Arcade Tourney - Haunts vs. HonzoGonzo"
That my friend is biased.
kinglesterjrsquires 11 months ago
Half the comments from the commentators is now SO offensive to Japanese, e.g bringing the vortex from Japan, and blow up Japan. Ironic...
