  • Why are the top 2 comments exactly the same? o_O

  • is Dominator better than vengance??

  • cut with the knife going away from you!

  • Could you run it with the Corsair Airflow pro???

  • can you use 1 ram card with a dual channel mobo please tell me

  • @avsummergirl yes, when RAM refers to channels it means how many Channels the RAM has

  • i like corsair cause all is sooo black

  • why i cant find it to buy in poland ;/ grrr

  • Are these sticks good? Do they perform well?

Also does am3 motherboards support this?

    Thanks

  • @jhonno123 yes, this ram is DDr3 and AM3 boards support DDr3

  • why is it that we cant comment on ur latest video uploads??

  • can I mix momories of different speeds?

  • @anandmu36 Should work, but your bios will set all memories to the same speed which is the highest supported by all of the modules you installed.

They also must be the same channel.

  • What does CAS latency 8?

  • 1T?!?! even high end ddr2 memory can barely run at 1T..

  • i have a corsair h50, corsair 750 psu and this

    corsair is nice

  • i saw a hexa-channel kit on newegg.

  • This guy almost sounds like casey casem :P

  • I thought Dominator comes with the cooling fan

  • @Exoime some do, some don't.

  • I'm picking this up for my new AMD Phenom II X6 1090T based build. Ordering all the parts(aside from CPU obviously) starting tomorrow & into next week. Thanks for the detailed review. I've always been happy with Corsair.

  • i've got these! its very nice!

  • you are awsome love all your videos man also i was wondering if it ok if i mesage you about my new system and if you could reccommend me to different parts thAnks again

  • Isn't DDR3 Triple Channel? He keeps referring to "Dual Channel."

  • No, DDR3 can operate in both triple and dual channel. Triple channel is currently only available on LGA 1366 platforms with the X58 chipset (as far as desktops are concerned).

  • @BoogieWithStew DDR3 is the latest. There used to be DDR2 and DDR. DDR3 can be referred as dual or triple channel

  • @AznUnboxer

now you can get quad channel ;)

  • @BoogieWithStew no, the type of ram doesnt refer to the channels. DDr3 is the name,

  • oh.. and latency 43.5 ns XD

  • lol.. i've seen this video now .. i've already bought them.. they're awesome!

    1.44 GHz @ 6-6-6-20-1T @ 1.65V

  • what is a good timing on a drr3 triple channel for an i7 rig.help

  • @deagle94 if your getting an i7 build then you should buy 1600 or 1866 MHz

  • Comment removed

  • Just bought this and for some reason after 5-20 min of running windows7 64bit freezes. I'm running memtest 4.0 right now and it says this is pc3 10600 665mhz (ddr3 1331). with a timing off 9.9.9.24. So WTF??? do i have to over clock it to get what the box says or what?

My first time building my own computer.

  • set the settings in the bios manually.

  • @eugkra34

just check if they're mounted correctly.

  • If you haven't fixed this issue yet, then yeah. I have the same RAM and out of the box it's underclocked for some reason.

  • this or the team xtreeme PC3 12800 DDR3 LV 1600 MHz CL7???

  • those tall heatspreaders are nothing but a marketing gimmick and an obstruction to your air cooler...

  • I never understand WHY people love corsair so much. I mean, those chips are extra tall! WHY? for heat? what about other chips that are exactly the same yet are the same temp without the extra heat sink on the top?

to me this means that the chips are "less quality" than others, needing the extra heat sink in order to dissipate more heat, since they heat up more than other company's.....

Don't say "its for those who want to overclock" because that's complete b.s.

  • u mad?

  • We love Corsair because it sounds so cool xD

I also have a Corsair powersupply, just because it sounds so cool :p

  • @Verigo

    So your like: cooooooorrssssaaaaaaaiiiirrrrr...

    all the day..

  • @Verigo i have to agree, i instantly fell in love with their name and branding but it wasnt just that, its also because ASUS and Corsair are partners of some sort, i have xms3, tx850m and a cc600tm case

  • @OriginalFutureChaos Hahaha, I said that with a little sarcasm back then. But after 2 jaar mine still work perfect.

  • @Verigo :D corsair is the best

  • @OriginalFutureChaos Ofcourse it is!

  • @Verigo not just because it sounds cool, because they know how to make every ting so good :)

  • Do you Game? System memory tends to warm up when doing heavy task and gaming. FYI, The tall heatsinks is used for cooling high performance memory...In the semiconductor world not all memory chips are made the same.

  • That is a lame excuse. "Its for gaming". I can use a normal chip with a normal heat sink, without the the added height, get the same performance, and not ever heat up.

My advice, stop paying money on crappy gear.

Only thing Corsair has over other chips is compatibility with AMD and INTEL, where as some chips are either or.

Like I said, the extra heat sink makes me think they went cheap on materials so they need it to keep those cheep parts cool, since they cant afford real parts. just imho.

  • @bastec666, WOW, Finally thank-you!

Someone who realises that it's just to make you think (and be subconcious) into thinking that more stuff makes it better.

It's like the same principle with money, when people say, "The more expensive something is, the better it is!". It's not necessairly true.

  • Yeah, I've been building computers 15 years now and when there is a range of products with the same name, and something boasts "runs cooler because of extra heat sink" I used to test said ideals. They always came out the same temps so why buy the one that needs extra heat sink material? Get one that is cheaper and does the same exact thing.

  • @bastec666, And that's smaller for better airflow, and can fit a bigger CPU cooler/heatsink on the Mobo. :)

  • yup yup. I got geil black dragon DDR2 chips (they have ddr3 out now).

The chips are so high quality that you don't even need heat sinks to cool them. I thought it was bullshit when I bought my first pair of Geil, so I bought extra heat sinks thinking I would need them.

Turns out, they run cooler than the other chips of the same timings. I freaked, you can touch them with your hand and it feels like room temp (not warm but not cold). I ended up returning the extra heat sinks!

  • @AmH032uTuBe but benchmarks talks , and the truth is that corsair pwns all their concorrency!

  • epic vids! Check out my channel and SUBSCRIBE to me plz!! i will have give aways and builds soon!

  • thanks got letting me know how to open a box.

  • 8-8-8-24 is fast for the MHz that is running at.

  • @jacktaylor2115 WRONG i have some memory from patriot i got it for120$ it was ddr3 dual channel 4gb 1600 mhz and the timings were 7-7-7-16. So if u think that is fast u should check this out xD

  • He's right. My OCZ 1333MHz 6GB gold was one of the cheapest when it came out. And I use CL6 timings.

  • alright dont get so angry u moody moron saying WRONG like that

  • wouldnt ddr2 800mhz 4-4-4-12 be as fast as ddr3 1600mhz 8-8-8-24

cause when you thing about it if ddr2 does 800mhz in 4 timings and ddr3 does 1600mhz in 8 timings doesnt that mean its the same speed. cause by the time ddr2 does 8 clock cycles ddr3 only did 8 clock cycles too and 800 x 2=1600 and 4 X 2=8 so they should run at same speed hypothetical, right?

  • @rambow70 not really, the ddr3 1600 will be a little faster not so much, but faster.

  • I need help Rodney Reynold. What is Dual Channel Memory RAM?

  • btw Rodney, you didn't follow one of the cardinal rules of handling a knife. Never, under any circumstances, cut towards yourself.

  • What's a Dual Channel RAM? I'm confused.

  • Dual channel RAM is a pair of matched pair sticks guaranteed to work with a dual channel setup on the motherboard. I suggest you consult wikipedia for more detail.

  • Well most mobo's have 4 slots for RAM. So that's 2 slots per channel meaning Dual Channel. Newer mobo's have 6 slots for RAM. 3 slots per channel, meaning Triple Channel

This is just an easy explanation

  • So, you're saying that if I have 2 slots of RAM and I use two different RAM like S-DRAM DDR2 and S-DRAM DDR3, does that mean I'm using Dual Channel RAM?

    I'm so confused!

  • The kind of RAM (DDR2 or DDR3 depends on your motherboard). So check that out first. Also check on what frequency you want them to work. Mostly that info is also given with the motherboard information.

Just don't make it so hard for yourself. Take 2 rails of DDR2 or 2 of DDR3

  • depends if your mobo goes with 2 or 3 channel.. if you have 3 channel you should go with 3 of ddr2/3

  • no lol

  • I was wondering where Rodney keeps all the stuff he reviews...maybe a gigantic hanger lolz XD

  • wow rodney, not gonna lie, your desktop looks pretty cluttered, 5 rows of icons?!?! im guessing there are atleast 100 in total

  • The more icons you have the cooler you are lol, 30 inch monitors are great for endless icon bliss.

  • i've got them i've got them!! lol

  • Too short

  • Im going to be getting some of this memory next week with planned upgrade. Crucial sells memory that matches every performance spec for about 1/3 less but I'm gonna go with corsair due to the dominator name which is my nick on games.

  • how do you ground yourself?

  • @themassau

I was told to touch the inside of your computer. Not the parts but the case. I didn't think I should do that but I remembered that the motherboard is actually lifted off the case edge so it might be ok. I would just get off carpet and then when you take off the side of your computer case touch the inside of the side panel. That way it can't harm anything :P.

  • Hahhaa 0:55 look at the barcode at the top ( on the box itsself ) it's 00000 00000 hahaha.

  • Rodney is pickung up parts for the 3rd Kick Ass Gaming Rig. Go Rodney!

  • I also have corasair memory for my pc thought it's only 1333mhz

  • This just so happens to be the ram I ordered that will be ariving within an hour

  • i love that you started making more harware rewiews

  • CORSAIR ROCKS!!!!

I'm getting a pair of 1600 MHz, CL7 for my coming i7 build! That's my trusted brand ;)

  • Yeah, Corsair is really good.

  • "the problem in a review is that you can not test the stability in time , how soon will it crash.

i had a bad experience with corsair DDR2 dominator series. after 6 month they had instability problems"

  • @tetenen Can you please explain more. How do you know it's the ram?

  • i tested with another kit from kingstone and the same so instaled no crashes ( bluescreen ). tested the corsaire DDR2 D on another PC and in 1 Hour surpprise ( bluescreen)

maybe i have bad luck .. or a incompatilibity problem with those 2 motherboards. the funny part is that i test the ram with memtest ant it-s ok. so i dont realy know but i this it's ram

  • @tetenen there is often memory module fuck ups, if there is a fault, just return them, its common

  • As with all hardware their lifespans are random, generally long though(excluding advances in hardware.) A rule of thumb is to not fuss over a dead piece of hardware, REM it and get a new product.

  • Comment removed

  • This is for p55 and other ddr3 dual channel mobos

  • rodney i think unboxing + review = better!!! don't make it seperate

  • Comment removed

  • this memory is great. i just got the 6GB 1600Mhz C8D Model for my new pc :D

  • will you have a video rewiev on the

    CORSAIR Airflow Fan Version 2?

  • lol i have a 7yo computer with 256mb ram 80gb, and it takes about 4 to 5 minutes to open wmp11 and explorer window, about 15 minutes to boot up completely.

  • not for P55

  • Why isn't this for P55?

  • it was a reply to Lvaneede

  • Dual channel DDR3? Shouldnt it be Tri Channel?

  • @Lvaneede Both AM3 & Intel P55(chipset) use dual channel DDR3, Tri-channel is only for LGA 1366

  • Oh, ok. I have only seen DDR3 being used with 1366 boards.

  • I need some good RAM that's gonna be able to open up applications fast and good for multi tasking tat's not gonna break the bank. At least not over 150 dollars. Any suggestions?

  • Need more info what type of memory, and what is your motherboard. Also what applications are you gonna run. Are you using a 32 or 64 bit OS?

  • Well, for what I know now, my motherboard supports just Dual Channel DDR2, which is most likely what I'm going to buy. Right now, I do not use a 64 bit OS but I plan on upgrading to it in the future. Lastly, I'm going to run mostly 3D games such as GTA IV and also do video & website edting.

  • luv dominators .Got 12 gb dominators at 9-9-9-24 . Seen prices and dammm there alot higher than before i bought them'

  • RAM prices recently skyrocketed because of scaled-back production.

  • @ 1:55 - 2:05

You can see some water drop from the top.

  • I don't understand what you mean. Please explain.

  • @GrinnyJimmeh Watch the video clip in-between that time,

  • Ah yeah i saw it. jeez u got mega eyes it was hard to spot

  • why is he using an amd rig instead of his i7

  • it is dual channel. it would work on i7 but might not be the same.

  • He recently built an amd system for personal use

  • I just got the 6GB Dominator kit for my i7 on a Gigabyte X58 UD7 motherboard. XMP profile works great. After 12 hours of Memtest86+ the middle module was at 27c which is right around my room temperature. Not bad at all.

I also have the corsair memory fan kit. Temperatures without it were 30c so I'm seeing about a 3c difference with the fan kit.

  • it's a kick ass product.. i had one for my i5 Build last week

  • I think he is building a new system.

  • ahh no!! wheres the unboxing vid xD

  • whats the point of unboxing ram... its just the sticks itself

  • LOOOOL

  • Yeah Corsair, this is what I like to see!

  • Considering 1600MHz CL8 1.65v memory, I'd really recommend getting ~£100 Kingston KHX1600C8D3K2/4GX DDR3-1600 4GB Memory Kit since it is capable of hitting 2000MHz CL8 on the stock 1.65v easily while keeping command rate at 1T !

  • do unboxing and review at the same time for all videos dont want to see some stupid unboxing and then the review some other day

and review the products u buys -.- i dont see why u cant review it cuz you bought it -.-

  • @mmrlon he makes money from youtube for every video he posts and gets watched... more videos means more money

  • no he gets nothing for posting videos. he gets money from people clicking ads beside his vids. 10 cent per click

  • @jordyGFC yes and more videos means more chances of people clicking on the ads

  • yeah but if he posts a vid theirs no guarantee that the ads will be clicked

  • No he gets payed if some one clicks a add on his videos.

  • because he wants the companies to send him review copies of things

  • I just ordered some of these today! What a coincedence lool

  • the problem in a review is that you can not test the stability in time , how soon will it crach.

i had a bad experience with corsair DDR2 dominator series. after 6 month they had instability problems

  • Good thing I had my pencil and paper ready for the serial number! WHEW, almost missed it... wait... whats that? no... you cant rewind YouTube... psh, loser.

  • I have 6 GB DDR3 1333. I'd rather have more RAM with less speed than less RAM with higher speed.

  • Thats just stupid...

  • lol when you read out the serial number.

  • The results posted from the test were from 2% to max 4% better in performance: what is so special about it then? Design is very cool must admit but pay double to get only 4% more??? What am I missing here?

  • Considering 1600MHz CL8 1.65v memory, I'd really recommend getting ~$100 Kingston KHX1600C8D3K2/4GX DDR3-1600 4GB Memory Kit since it is capable of hitting 2000MHz CL8 on the stock 1.65v easily while keeping command rate at 1T !

  • for the result you used the non-reviewed mobo and you reviewed memory? hmmm... did you make another computer?

  • My Corsair dominator PC-8500 - 1066mhz is just as fast as this...

  • Very nice review of some very nice RAM.

  • What is the difference between 1T & 2T

  • 2T is slower

  • Thanks

  • weak i love my OCZ 1600mhz platnium 7-7-7-24's

  • My Corsair PC-12800 XMS3 DHX has stability issues when set it to 1600MHz

  • power supply suck?

  • Have you checked if the motherboard sets the correct voltage and timings?

A BIOS update could also help.

  • I did everything except BIOS Update cus i didnt hav time butt i will soon if it will fix the problem. I also found lots of forum about it then they just stayed 1333 just like i do

  • BIOS updates often fix compatibility issues, so with a little luck the memory will work @ 1600 then.

    /fingers crossed

  • ok then thx, I will update it soon

  • I have 2GB of Corsair Dominator in my PC.

  • Cut away from yourself buddy!

  • this was more of an unboxing video combo. and i just ordered G.skill trident PC2-9600@5-5-5-15. cant wait

  • I GOT THOSE!!!! YARRR

  • i have 2gb dominator (ddr2) at 1267mhz

  • i have corsair dominators

    8gb 1600mhz cl8

  • i bought corsair dominatro ariflow does it work on ocz ?

  • yeh, it will just mount the same i think

  • hahaha XD men, this is only fan, it works with all mobo, all memorys, you can instal it where you want XD

  • i want to buy this mainboard ASUS M4A78T-E tomorrow how to install the mugen 2 on it i bought the mugen 2 today do i need to unistall the orginal backplate ?

  • yes, you must remove oryginal backplate, and install mugen backplate, this is easy men

  • i know thats only 4 screws but do i have garanite ?

  • OCZ all the way

  • Corsair rules.

  • why is everything you review "kickass"? its like you dont even have a scale to really judge the product. your reviews are starting to become more like infomercials rather than actual "reviews"

  • He's reviewed a load of crappy stuff too, trust me. I doubt you've watched every one of his videos yet.

  • MOST of the time the stuff he reviews is really good products.

  • Corsair is overpriced.

  • Please continue to do both the unpacking and review in the same video :)

Nice RAM btw, Corsair is good, but a little to expensive
